Hey Archie awesome car! Too bad you can't make it up here to the far northwest. I am also curious as to those other pics you posted with the hinted scissor doors. I have one question tho: you mentioned that you have the seat lowered enough for proper head clearance, but what about if you have a helmet on? I mean, I presume your going to be doing some kind of racing with a car like that, no?

Btw, I'd hate to get on this topic cuz it's silly, but the quote on lady Pegasus' sig is from the song Hey Pretty by Poe (I like the drive-by remix myself.)

First, I just wanted to say that I think the Stinger is awesome, and I want to thank Archie for renewing my hopes of fitting in a CHOP TOP Fiero! (I only have 1" of headroom now, but I'm still convinced it's possible for me to one day own one.)

Thanks for reigniting a dream, Vee-eight! ;0)

--------
On the sig pic:

Hunh? The pic is of her in a Prom dress, and the quote is from a Poe song.

It's cute, girly, and there's a big giant FIERO on her shoulders!

Let's take this to another thread in OFF TOPIC, because it is.

PS: a note to LadyP: I do rather agree the slamming of other females is kind of... well... male... and just not worthy of the classy dame you are

Best!
Ben.

*blushing* Thought the pictures were smaller in size than they ended up being. Will be sure to change those at first opportunity so other forum members won't think I am obnoxious. My apologies.

So, archie, you say a person 6'4" can sit in the car no problen then with the lowered seats. Can anyone predict lottery results? 6'4" person needs to raise funds for a choptop. LOL

We interrupt you for this Special Report
>>>>>>>News Break<<<<<<<

This is just sad.....
Just a note here i would like to state that yes the picture of Lady Pegasus is in fact a picture of her in a shoulderless dress . The whole picture is some what large and in fact it was edited by a few PFF Member (I will not say names or user names) and posted by them along with Lady. I would post the picture but i am at class right now and do not have the PFF upload file, so you will just have to remember. It was not just Lady Pegasus' idea it was in fact other PFF Members as well to post it with her sig. In behalf of Lady so this does not become a war with her sig i will remove it and post a new one later tonight. I would like the SIG thing to stop please. No more. what is done is done and i will take care of it. Thank You.

>>>I now return you to programing now in process...The LT1 Stinger......<<<

Look great Arch, that first shot reminds me of an early 80's Esprit. Those wheels suit the car perfectly and the stance is just right. I can honestly say that us Fiero owners are fortunate to have a car that has aged very well. The design is timeless and I can see it becoming a classic down the road. Kinda OT, but I find that a lot of cars (Dodge Stealth, new Celica GT, etc.) look great when they are released and make you say wow!, but ten years down the road look really out of place. In my opinion Pontiac got the design just right for the Fiero, looks as good now as it did 15 years ago.

Welcome to the forum Synthesis, love you tint!

LOL. Thanx! I appreciate the welcome. I must say though, that while I am a die hard 'Ghini fan, Archie's LT1 Stinger is something I will dream about. The stuff done to that car is just amazing. As was stated a few replies ago, the Fiero is a timeless design. One of the few cars done right from the factory, and it can only get better. I like to think of my Window tint as one step closer to heaven, I believe that heaven is Archie's car..... AWESOME ride man!
(By The Way, I happen to be 6'4 1/2" and I have less than 1/2" of headroom in my stock roofed Fiero.)
And my Tint was done for 25 bucks by a professional. Lifetime guarantee. 20% tint on the back (WAY BELOW LEGAL) and 40% on the sides (BARELY LEGAL). As for the Dells, would love to go, car is not ready for show, probably won't ever be honestly. Original owner hit a deer. (I am second owner) No bodywork was ever done so it needs some paintwork, as well as interior... I have the "Ears" for my horn button, and can not find them anywhere local, and some people online want way too much. Trying to keep the stock appearance for a while as a friend molds me a new dash. Any suggestions on where to get that Yellow Paint Archie? I wanna go Yellow n Black.

Archie, just wondering why the trim wasn't shaved at the same time all that other work was done? Looks good that everything is one color.......but no 3rd dimension trim moulding lines would have been better.....

My .02, but I'm sure you've had enough of those to pay for the car by now

Please dont flame me for this request, I LOVE the way the LT1 Stinger looks.

Archie did an awesome job.

Could someone photoshop the first picture in Archies wallpaper choice post.

I would like to see what the car would look like with an aero nose.

I have tried to imagine it, and I honestly don't think it would look as good.

I am asking because my notchback has an aero nose, and would like to see what it would look like chopped.

Thanks

Thanks for all the nice things you guys are all saying. I'm very happy that the car pleases you. I'm proud that we were able to build the car with you right here on PFF.

I know that you've heard this before about other cars, but this car looks so much better in person than it does in pictures. I spent a couple of hours today outside just walking around the car looking at it & I can't get enough. I have not felt this pleased with the results of a project since we finished the Blue Chop Top.

Sorry about the dumpster in the background, I'll take some more pics tomorrow morning when the Sun is in the East and get a better background.

Earl, I'm happy that you would think that HPP would be interested in the car, if you have their EMail addy handy, I'll send them some pics.

Speaking of Magazines, check out the May issue of GM High Tech Performance magazine. There will be an article on V-8 Fieros in there.

I've been asked how much power this car has and how fast it will run etc. The engine is a new LT1 1996 version crate engine. It makes 300 SAE Net in the Vette it was intended for. I figure about 360+ Brake HP. I would guess that it should run 0 to 60 in less than 4.5 sec. and the 1/4 in the 12's. However this car was not built as a race car. It was built as a good Cruise car with plenty of power, braking and handling for anything the street can dish up. I doubt that this car will be raced on anything except the street, so I don't worry that I can't wear a helmet in the car. I have 2 other cars (with 400+ hp) that I'll do my racing with this Summer.

XDrewX: I'm kind of tired tonight and I have a good answer for your Q on the stance but too tired to write it up tonight. Besides I took some before and after pics of the stance and they are at the shop. I learned something from one of my customers when he made some suggestions on ride height that I had never considered or heard of before. And that was the key to the stance cure. I'll tell you all about it tomorrow.

utmracing: We didn't shave the trim for 2 reasons: #1 Is that I don't like shaved trim. #2 (this is more important than #1) Except for the wheels and hood, we wanted to keep the original Fiero lines as clean and original looking as we could. This IMHO, accents the new roof line.

Neal: I'm here to tell you that after you've been around a chop top working on it for a few days, then go to work on another Fiero with a stock roof. The roofline is so different, it's like going to work on a Checker Cab in comparison.

I agree with the line of the Fiero being always modern & appealing. There is no other car like our Fieros.

Those color pictures make me want to start another one tomorrow..... I like the Red and the Green.

Archie

Well this is my first reply to this thread, but I have read every one of the 900+ responses and have followed it closely since the first post.

Archie, I have never spoken to you here or anywhere else, but MAN that car is cool!!! You really should be proud. I think the blue chop top and the stinger are two of the nicest looking cars on the board.
