Oh, you don't really want to open up that can of worms, do you?
Well, here's the only post on that clutch I could find: https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Archives/Archive-000002/HTML/20001206-1-002192.html This is the clutch's first appearance on the Forum. There's another post by Archie that explains why one of The Fiero Shop's clutches is hanging on his trophy wall, but I couldn't find the link.
Seems I remember a post somewhere else related to this plucktorial clutch. It seems it didn't give that clutch set up much merit. Reckin' that must be the evidence on the wall. Trophies of classic blunders I take it.

Well, you'll notice there's a burn mark on the pressure plate. Suffice it to say, Archie and George at The Fiero Shop had a disagreement over the clutch when it failed to meet Archie's expectations. If I find the link to that other thread, I'll add it.

Several people know that since last report I've driven the Stinger to several shows around the country. My average mileage on the Hwy. trips has been 26.1 overall.
Today I just completed a "local" MPG check on the Stinger... drove 176 local miles (no freeways at all) on 8.68 gal. that works out to 20.2 MPG. And this was with all local driving, construction delays etc. I don't think I drove the car over 55 during that whole tankful. I was expecting the 15 or 16 that I used to get on the GBCT.
I'm happy, had to tell someone.

I'm still undecided on the Supercharger. This weekends show at Norwalk, OH, is the last out of town show I'm taking it to this year. Then during the off season I'm making a few other mods to it and putting in the Chevy Hot Cam kit. Also planning on changing out the Chevy ECM to a Lap Top programable one. There are also a few other Custom things I want to do to it for next season.
since it appears we didn't make the cut for the SCC magazine thing, I'm in no hurry for the Supercharger.
Someone needs to tell Kameo Kid that he has a long way to go to catch up with this thread.
I wonder who will be the owner of the 1000th. post to this thread.
Archie... I think you and I have the same kind of sense of humor. When I saw that "'89 Fiero Prototype" pic I suspected it...but after seeing the Zumwalt kit stanchions, I *know* it...
Glad to see that there are others out there that like such subtle humor. I have to wonder how many people at that show saw the stanchion bases and thought, "WTF is this all about? What's with these things?"
I laugh myself silly just thinking about it. Next time I'm in Illinois I really must see about getting up your way to visit the shop.

Aha!, so the secret is out. This is exactly what I'll be working on this winter only a little more radical. Should be interesting next time we stand next to one another Archie. I just hope I can put it all to the ground.

not even going to hint around on what the mods are?
are you going to repaint the car? only flaws i seen in the car when i seen it at dales place in ohio was the chopped roof where it was done in probably a day or so, there were sand lines under the clear coat in the paint and the fiberglassing wasnt smooth and flowing like a factory look. it was rough and kinda grainy. otherwise the car was great to look at.

Anybody else re-read all 25 pages of this thread? I was bored today so I did.
I guess we are still waiting for surprises number 3 and 4: The Mr Mike's covered version of Archie's dash and the supercharger. Could that be why Archie revived this thread???
