Curly finally got the choptop back to CA! He just left my house and I had to snap a few pictures while he was here.. All the new stuff looks pretty dang good! Too bad it wasn't ready for Daytona but it will definitely be at WestFest in July! I'll post the small pics here. If you want to see the full size pics they are on my website at http://www.fiero-performance.com/fiero/curls .
A few things over looked. The bullet Cup holders were not seated into the center console properly like I originally had them (1 cup holder then). There's a black plastic edge along the side that needs to be cut out so that the cup well drop down by 1" Also one of the outer gauge needs to be seated down into the console. and the carpet will sport a new look soon.
During my drive from FL and the best thing that was "functional" and very "useful" were the cup holders and the power steerring.

Cool, are you going to be keeping the body the same colour?
Brad
Same color, nothing exotic here. It's one of my daily drivers. Trends is going to paint it again....free. There are a few minor areas that needs repainting where they molded in the area where the sail panel go, one of the hood scoops, and the back scoop.
I'll try to attend the Westfest show which, will be very close to the ending of my Europe vacation. I'd just need to sign-up. At any rate I'll just show-up and not for the contest. Maybe its me but, I like looking at other Fiero's and not having to worry about "showing" it. I'm not one of those who likes to wipe everything down before the judging. Just like the Vegasfest....I'd just roll'd in. However I'll do it for date, but thats different, right? hehehe.
i'd like to know how you got the dash to look like that, all shinny silvery i LOVE it, it shows how "instyle" our dashes actually are but they just need some tweaks, i know you pry have a thread on your dash but i must've missed it
Thanks, Travis

Why cup holders? Man I am so desparate for cup holders that I am going to do the FireBird dash convesion just for the cup holder on the center console LOL.

pffssssss..... Where the cup holder? I guess theres no drinking or eating in your....period. But geee, I think you raised the bar up tooo high.
My question to madcurl is....WHY?
Why? Why do we do anything? Because we can... Why in the world would anyone want to build the best looking Fiero known? I can't imagine.. I try to make all of mine look like crap.... OK, so that was sarcasm...
Two cupholders directly in front of the radio, right where they should be... They are mentioned somewhere in the text above.

The dash is not a stock Fiero dash. It is a totally custom fiberglass piece that is painted to match the outside of the car. All shiny silvery!
you should paint the inner door pannels silver too, it would make them blend in with the dash a lil better, not that i'm sayin anythings wrong with it, i hope my car will look like that when i get done w/ it, just an idea

I just spent all day hooking up strobe lights in my rear light housings. It was a pain in the butt, but I was happy, especially when it got dark. Then I come in and I see this car. DAMN.......... my car sux! This is the best Fiero on this forum!

That's the freaking most incredible Fiero that I have ever seen! Just when I thought I had seen it all!!! It absolutely amazes me to see the transformations on these great cars. Curly, no doubt you will have inspired everyone in this form to come up with new and exciting ideas. Ya know, someone should send this thread to GM so the suits up there in Detroit can see what could have been!

The thing that makes Curly's car so awesome is that he has sooooooo many different elements going and they all flow together and compliment each other seemlessly.
Some guys have nice scoops and some decent rims, but no chop, some guys have a nice chop, but very average rims, and no scoops. This guy has it all !
The decklid and hood scoops are Killer ! Very unique and stylish, they flow perfectly with the shape of the fiero. The wing tips on the front side of the forward facia give the aero nose an entirely different and exotic look.
What could be more exotic than a chop top ? People get an entirely new respect for the fiero when they roll up on a chop. Adding lambo doors to the chop makes this car look simply sick .
People probably don't know what the heck it is, but no way could it be a fiero !?! Must be one of them new sports car prototypes.
The custom side scoops are perfect for what is going on as well as the newly added pisa rockers.
The rear wing is one of my favorite elements, it's turn down on the end style (ala purple people eater) takes it up a notch on par with everything else on the car.
And finally those wheels ! OOOOOOOMG ! Those HRE's are the best compliment to a fiero that I have ever seen. They totally make the car.
The perfect finishing touch. IMO wheels and stance are the two most important elements in the look of a car, and Curly hit the jackpot here.

It's awfully shiny behind them! What was done to the rotors? chrome?
Hmmmmmm......your one with a good eye! Yes, the Cap portion was chromed. I got tried of taking the wheel off and polishing the caps. Did you notice something else that is chromed?
Your car made me rethink my need to have a Bricklin someday, maybe one fiero will really be enough.
Do you have a good link to a writeup on the choptop? I absolutely love the entire package of your car, from the sleek outline to the doors to the styling of the scoops, it is a stunning piece of art.
the first one didnt turn out to good i can redo it if u like that simple concept
Hhhhhhhmmmmmm......looks good! I've been in need of a change here. However I would like it (thats if you have the time) with the same watermark background logo with the name font that Reality made but with the current pics. Or is it possible to do uit in cartoon fashion, with the one (only) where car is facing (us) not the rear end? Try that one and I'll see?
Hot diggitty dog! Thats another good one. Great work. Sir, can I use that one as my sig, please? hehehehehe. The buildings even remind me of San Francisco...Orcacle and Pointee Trans building.
I think part of the front corner and tail end is missing?
Hmmm....would be nice if someone lined-up all the current choptop togethere and make some kind of a wall poster? I can't wait until Jim88Gt and the Dirty Rats finished.

Yeah you could aliminate some of the buildings to the right of the car and keep the Oracale, Pointee Trans like building, keeping it to 3-4 buildings total? And move the name along the bottom of the building the car is setting on? Or if you have the Golden Gate would be really nice...I know thats pushing it. hehehehe.
It's really nice to see the ideas as I'm leaving work. I'll check later this Friday. I'm logging off. I need to get carpet removed and waiting on "new" carbon fiber samples from Mr. Mike's just like my front dash. I may have to sell my new side leather interiors or just put them in the Fiero Redux car? My carpet is tried.
Thanks madcurl

Hey Curly, when are you going to add some F355 tail lights?
Nah. No F355 rear lights. Just a slight change w/stock tail lights on the Silver Choptop (example is on Redux thread). As for the Redux...hmmmmm...the jury is still out on that one. Hehehehe. I have other faster ideas for the Silver choptop since car is SPNC now. Hello.....D1S are your there?
