Don't have a stock engine? Know of someone else on the forum that doesn't have a stock engine? Link me to it.

Modded your duke/2.8? Link me to that. Bored out your duke/2.8? Link me to that too .

Pictures or not, I want links galor. Specs, times, costs, parts needed. Whatever. Link me up!

(all efforts will eventually go into the FAQ at some point assuming Cliff aproves it)

I'll start:

I think by April of next year I should have a swap done. I just got a job with Swift Transportation and will be saving as much cash as I can... I have decided to for go buying a used engine. I am going to buy direct from a GM dealer. That way I know what I am getting... A brand new Serious 2 3800 SC. A friend of mine will be doing the swap while I am out on the road, So I dont think it will be photographed all that much... However I think I will be getting a second camera and let him use it to photograph the work as its being done. This will be done to my 88... I also hope to do alot of body work and other modifications to it this year. Only time will tell.

Subject line: 3.4L pushrod Swap (lots of pics)

"Here is my 3.4L Pushrod swap. I did a lot of cleaning and painting of everything. I posted 204 pics of the engine swap, parts as they were removed, cleaned, painted, powder coated, swaped, reassembled, etc....
If you need info about any bracket on the 2.8L/3.4L engine I should have a pic of it posted here.
Also pics and info for stripping the old powdercoat off of the intake/valve covers, are posted here.
And all of the info that I had to use in the swap."

I would be willing to if two things happen: Cliff needs to approve me putting this into it and it needs to get finished. So head over and post things you think should be in it!

Gotta love the shameless plug

Those that posted recently have also received their +'s, fear not.

Here is the problem with this type of thread..........
As soon as any link in here goes to archive, It may as well be dead.

Don't get me wrong this is a GREAT idea. But in 6 months when someone looks at this thread, half of the info will be gone/unfindable.

Mabey Cliff should make a link convertor. put in an old link and it will find it in the archives.
I have read so many threads that say "go here", but the forum thread got moved and I could NEVER find it.

This WILL be the thread to come to when swaping an engine.

I added the subject line to my link above.

Very good point. I just went through the links and got the name of ever engine swap listed. Once the link dies, it will be a simple matter of searching under subject only in the archives to get the new, permant, link.

Major plus for you

I'm surprised this thread hasn't gone away completely. I compiled a list and tacked it to the end of the FAQ post I just made. You can find it here. It's all nicely formatted for your viewing pleasure

q4fiero.napisano.net <--- My quad 4 swap. I haven't completed the page yet even thought the car has been on the road for some time... Maybe I'll get around to it one day after I fix all the little bugs on the car that pop up once in a while.
