Which unit to you end up going with, just a Fiero or a GT or something custom? If you don't mind me asking how much will it run to get a run of the mill Fiero kit? Thanks for any info, and great thread and product!

I emailed him pics about the problems I had and something about the counter sunk screws, they pushed the plate down a little to far and I couldn't open my cd deck. I still have to find a few screws to replace those maybe it was just my kit oh well, simple fix
so hopefully he's got that all sorted, nothing major just simple stuff.

Hey $RICH$ not to steal your thunder here OR jack your thread... you did one hell of good one by finding this guy and getting some stuff made. TOo bad you can only get ONE +
I talked to the fellow who does these and he may make GAUGE face plates, aux gauge face plates, climate control plates and maybe shifter plates. I am gonna take some pictures and send him them. Perhaps you can make EVERYTHING say FIERO... LOL! I have some IDEAS brewing in my head that could make this VERY COOL!!!! IF anyone is interested let me know!!
I will probably have one made for myself regardless...
again, $Rich$ if you feel thread jacked lemme know... ill repost!

I don't think this is a thread jacking at all... And actually I can't wait to get mine either and none of this would be possible without the $RICH$... Thanks again and if I haven't already given you a plus you have one now
I just got mine and I was looking over this thread and the thread on clubgp.com and it looks like the lights are run in parallel is that correct? Feeding from the dimmer control wire or just the regular illum wire which one did everyone use?
It looks like we are now looking for more stuff to have him make for use here are two more ideas. engraved door threshold inserts, and ....... what .....about......light up fiero door tabs???? Just brainstorming......
Yes hook the lights in parallel. Mainly because if one light goes out they all will go out if wired in series.
DXR-DAD did stainless steel threshold plates a few years back. They were cut to fit very nicelly. I'll get a picture if your interested. I don't remember how much I paid for them, it seems like it was like $30-50 range, but don't hold me to that.

Well I finally got some time to install this beautiful work of art. However like others there were a couple of clearance issues I thought that I should share. Not really major but it turned what would have been a 15 minute job into more like 30. Just keep that in mind. On my unit when I went to put the radio support sleeve into the plastic rear support I had to trim some material for the unit to slide in. The picture below shows the areas I had to remove stock. I used a dremel and a plastic cutting stone and removed 1/32" in all corners.
Then when I went to put the radio surround trim back on the lower two screw holes were hitting the bottom flush mounted screws in the plate so instead of removing stock from the plate around the the screw holes I choose to remove stck from the rear of the trim piece because there is an inner and an outer sleeve. I took stock off on both side as the picture shows below. Remove the stock within the trianlge. Once this was done everything fix back perfect.( I believe Yellowstone had similar clearnce issues)
Lastly I also had to remove the rear support bracket the the OEM radio us to fit into. Took a drive last night after install and looks great. Sorry no finished pics of mine my camera batts were dead when I did it.

same thing I ran into I sent him pics of it. That's a way better example then mine
One thing I found is the counter sunk screws pushed the plate to far down I couldn't open the face on my cd player. I have to find different screws, ones I have currently don't make it sit flush (non counter sunk screws)

As I am reading all these posts the early ones mention this kit has EL lighting but all of the finished products appear to have LED'S for the illumination. EL would work and look better, but would require more expense so I assume LED's were chosen for this reason?

when i got started having these made , i went by a test fit on my car which all the plastic skelotun and the HVAC bezel were both in GREAT shape, and i had him adjust them so they fit perfect according to my car(biengs it was all in great shape, nothing had to be trimmed, ive heard both that they needed to be trimmed, and others have said they fit perfect with out anything needed at all
Installed mine today. I had to trim mine a little like other people said. But it was no big deal. The front plate is metal not plastic like it looks. So if you bump it with something metal it will take the paint off (DOH). I couldn't get it to work with my cover plate that goes over the edge on the front of the stereo. If I used it it made the metal front plate not sit flush with the plastic it screws onto. Because I couldn't use my little cover plate it left a gap around the face plate so I painted the white plastic black to hide the space.
Any ways here is what it looks like. It sits perfectly flush and looks great!
