I'm guessing that we'll be hanging in the parking lot until we go to pizza. The pizza place is kitty-corner from the hotel, across the highway. If we aren't at the hotel, we're probably at the pizza joint.
Mary and I are leaving around 3pm, and have a stop to make, so we'll probably be there about 5:30, maybe 6.

I always use my radar detector, I also am very observant of everything around me so I tend to do rather well with no getting stopped. Also I think if your not swerving around from lane to lane you can get away with more speed.
And if you want a little extra protection rub your tummy while you drive.
I've replaced my entire hydraulic system and I still get air out the bleeder constantly. Anyone want to come over and help me out bleeding it? I live about 10 minutes from San Juan Bautista. I'll stop by SJB at around 6:00 tonight to see if anybody is around..

Good morning. Hope you're dressed and got your Wheaties. Take 101 through Gilroy to 156 towards Hollister. When you get to the stoplight, turn right anf the San Juan Inn is on the right. Try to get there ASAP. We'll be having a little drivers meeting about 10:15 with the plan of getting on the road by 11:15 sharp. If anyone is running slightly late, call my cel at 831-20six 5024.
Well we are back home safely. Thanks for putting this together, we had a great time. (almost talked the wife into going right back down for the drinks/socializing).

Well, it was a great day. Early on it looked like the run was going to be hijacked, but we got it under control. Pictures forthcoming, but I spent most of my time hitting 30 mph corners at 60, so I didn't take many snapshots. No crashes, no breakdowns, and I didn't have to use my AK. To quote Ice Cube, it was a good day.

I had a great time today on this little trip; it was a wonderful road for working out a Fiero. Got a few pictures at stopping places but none on the road; I was alone and trying to keep up with the "fast" group so all the camera did was roll around on the passenger side floor most of the time.
Pefect weather - we'll have to make this a regular event!

Screw that, I'm on a 15 minute a month plan. You're not worthy.
That was hilarious about the ticket. I'll see you at the Embassy Suites about 8:45 then? Don't wait for me to get there to pick up your ticket, I've got mine already.

That was hilariously fun. Thank you Jeff for putting it all together. I know it's a tad bit stressful being in charge of events like that. But it went off awesomely.
I had much more fun this time, because I knew the road a little better, and my GPS system showed me what was around each curve. hehe. I met lots of people I hadn't before, and I can't wait for Westfest! [speaking of which, when is that?]
Thanks for letting a MINI tag along... Janell

Thanks for putting together the Rally Stimpy! It was great meeting people and the run gave me a chance to row through the gears of the Getrag and hear the tires squeal while negotiating the many miles of twisties, loops, and up-an-downs... too much fun, I'm definitely in again for next year's run.

Seriously, the pictures don't do that area justice. If the breathtaking turns don't do it for you, the views are spectacular. I encourage everyone to keep an eye out for Rally Through The Valley III, Return of The Rally coming in April 2006!

I really wanted to get some pictures on the road but didn't have a copilot to hold the camera. I've been on a lot of twisty roads in my time, but that one (especially the 198 segment) has some pretty unusual features. I especially liked those sweeping uphill turns that switched direction (abrubtly) at the top of the hill and dropped off turning in the opposite direction. Almost felt like a roller coaster...
My little SE will be in much better condition next year and ready for the next Rally through the Valley. I'll probably even have a co-pilot.
... A moment of silence for Sammy Squirrel who stood up in the road to see what was coming, kissed my aero fascia and jumped under my tire ...
He was a good squirrel and joins the leigon of other squirrels who dot the pavement all along the route. He'll be an inspiration to carrion eaters for days to come...

This was my first Fiero rally ever...and I loved it! There is nothing cooler than 15 Fiero's in a row pulling into a gas station....at the same time! I was amazed that some drivers would actually stop and yield for ALL of us (kind of like an official procession or something). Also, I was really impressed at the driving abilities of all the women in the club.
Lastly, I enjoyed all the people who came. I laughed hard at Carl's off the wall humor, listened intently to the "Minister of Speed", Brian, the quiet but kind Kelvin and his beautifully painted red T-top, Rick and his wife and their beautiful blue & silver GT and of course Mary who never fails to ask me, "where's your wife Kit?...you should have brought her" to which I always reply, "Im sorry but she's not Fiero material".

So few pictures of the actual drive...wonder why that is?
They'd be some interesting pictures, wouldn't they? I'd especially like one of that highway patrolman just outside of Hollister - the look on his face as we flew by was priceless...

You were doing the speed limit cause you had to go over a hill and the 4 banger couldn't handle any more.
The cop had someone else pulled over going the opposite direction. Many of us are very lucky he was already out of the car and writing the guy a ticket when we went by.
