I'll always remember him as the guy who managed to burn up three Fiero's. I remember the first one was because he parked his Fiero over leaves, I don't really remember the other two.
I'm choked up about this...Damn

I was a 3rd party seller of the 87 GT w/ T-Tops that he flew to Florida to pick up. I believe that one was #3? It happened an hour into his trip, and I have felt horrible about it ever since. I guess the message he got across the most was not to let problems prevent you from driving what you love. He did his best most of the time, and always had good intentions from the best of my knowledge.
What I have learned from this forum, 1) Loose, tight, indifferent... There is a true sense of family and fellowship here. 2) There isn't that large of a gap between friends online or offline. The same respect should always be given. 3) NEVER, and I mean NEVER EVER, sell a car that you haven't test driven and professionally checked out prior to the sale. (The same goes for buying across state lines).
Phil was my friend, he and I spoke on several occasions. HE Came to TN and bought my Fiero before I moved to Canada. I know that Phil had some problems in his life, I only hope they were not enough that he took his own life.
Neither the Email nor the Obituary said what the cause of death was, and I hope that someone can find out for us. If there is anything I can do to help that is not monetary (as I am a poooooor sob ) I will be more than happy to help.
And I would also like to say if you have something off color or just rude or not befitting this event to say, please keep it to yourself. I know some people on here had a problem with Phil, but the man has passed on. Please allow your bitter feelings to do the same, and let this good man rest in peace.
You will be missed Phil, The Fiero world and the world in general has lost another good man.

I am always available to help those that need help. Since my back injury, I cannot work on many of the aspects of the cars, but I can offer the knowledge of my 27 years as a GM technician. Bring the questions on................!
He was involved in a few shadey deals here. None the less he helped me a couple times when I was stuck in the middle of a project on my fiero.
Whatever the deal really was with him, its hard to find out someone is gone.
RIP Dude

I dont buy it I think hes running a scam. If he is dead...Maybe phil will be re-encarnated as the General Motors tech he always dreamed of being.
RIP
I have to admit, this thought crossed my mind, too, until I saw the obit that Earl (FieroGT87) posted. RIP GTDude....I hope that you find the peace that seemed to elude you in this life.

Whoa, exactly what's so nasty about that? What difference does it make how the man died? Will you grieve for him more if you found out he died saving kittens from a burning building then if he died from a drug overdose, for example? Why fixate on why the guy died, and instead maybe celebrate his life? I think it's kind of morbid to have this curiousity on how he died. Maybe if you don't like what I say, you address it in a private message instead of getting pissy in the man's thread? Maybe a slight misunderstanding can be smoothed out instead of whipping up a contraversy for all the bandwagonners to have a chance to go crazy "Rating This Member". Just a thought.
BTW, when was Cliff going to make me an admin on this forum? I'm always the last to know.
GTDude was cool, I loved to poke at him because he understood it was just in fun. Perspective is different for everyone. God bless his family in the time of tragedy. I’m glad that we were told and he just didn’t disappear from our lives without us knowing. RIP

There are legitimate reasons to ask how he passed. For example if he had a long illness and his family is responsible for the bills. If he did have a long time illness and his family doesn’t need help then some of us may feel like donating in his name to help others with the same illness. Stimpy this is not a flame just trying to explain why I would want to know.

I agree completely. Besides, if the family wanted us to know how he died, they likely would have mentioned it in the obit or his roomie would have mentioned it in his email to Cliff.
I can understand family and friends wanting to know, but for those of us who only knew him online, it really isn't our business. Morbid curiousity, I guess.
And Stimp, when I first read your "pour out a 40" comment, I thought it was a bit crass, but it's so hard to read a person's tone of voice. We each pay tribute in our own way. When each of my parent's died, after the funeral my friends and I gathered at our local bar and I ordered a round of Jameson's for everyone, plus one for the dearly departed. That drink stayed on the table the entire night, and at the end of the night it was poured out. A last toast to a lost loved one. Not so crass in a different context.
