I've heard a v8 can rev very well if built properly, and also have read a few 327 engine conversations on the forum. It's my understanding that they are hard to come by but a 350 block can be destrocked etc. to make a high revving motor.
I think that a 327 revving to 7500 8000 would be an awesome motor to have in a fiero behind a built manual transmission (i.e. cryo treat etc.).
YET, every crate engine place I look at has engines that rev to 5600, although with a lot of torque and horepower.
Where can I buy a high revving v8 engine, 327 or not, with decent power?
Thanks.

I found a couple of places that Offer 327 in short block or long block. But... I don't expect that they should be expected to rev repeatedly to 7Grand. (Like everytime ya take off in 1st gear) If you want to drive it like I like to drive it, You'll have to have it built for YOU. I' m having one built with a roller cam.

I'm planning a 327. As far as I've researched the best you can hope for without going grossly over priced would be about 6k rpm. That is what I'm aiming for. About a 5800 to 6k redline. Anything more then that the few people I've talked to said you might as well just buy the block and build it yourself. Not gonna find a crate engine like that cheap.

The only crate 327 you will be able to find (i think) might be a stock replacement short or longblock. Nothing like the zz4 crates or the like. If you want a powerfull 327 your gonna have to build it yourself. The catalogs list differant cranks but i never see aftermarket 327 cranks. The catalogs do have more parts than they can list so maybe they have them. I was lucky and picked up a forged 327 crank from a machine shop for 300 bucks. It had all the paperwork and was only run on a dyno once.

http://speedomotive.com/chevy_small_block_assembled%20crate%20engines.htm

I had Speedomotive build my 377ci short block as they built it cheeper than I could build it myself and they do excellent work.

edit to add: Speedomotive will build whatever you want. the link only shows a short block 327, but if you want a compleat turnkey engine they can supply that for you also.
