I went in there acting like an ass a few weeks ago, and despite that I was invited to start a thread about my car. They have a thicker skin and a different sense of humour, which may not be (publicly) appreciated by some here....i don't like some of the trashing threads over there, but i don't like the copied n pasted emails over here....both are wasted space to me in MOST cases, not all...i choose not to read what i don't want to read....simple enough i would think.
....i bet if something goes wrong with my ride and i don't know how to fix it, I'll get alot of help over there as I would here. I spend more time here because I get alot of computer related help here on top of Fiero help, and I have software/illustration skills that I can be of assistance with. But i do find alot of good reading in PSF tech, no one can deny that.

I think the name sucks(because i like most elements of this place), and besides the personal pot-shots, it's another fiero forum, if you don't like it, don't go to it...again, simple enough

I don't know Stimpy, I haven't seen any Lesbians on the websites I mentioned, maybe they are disguised as men? As a matter of fact, I don't recall any Women on those forums...mmm...strange.

I don't participate in the drama you guys have between eachother, it's not my business/problem, and i'm not gonna start pointing fingers or justifying either side....but i can see why you wouldn't like to be there....the bottom line is that there is information on there that can definitely be helpful to some....you might have to sift through stuff u don't like, but you have to do that here too, the only difference is that here, we're more like pg-13, and there, it's more uncut/unrated, speak your mind no matter what your political/religious/whatever stance is....nobody gets voted off because they have a different opinion, they just get put in their place, and move on........i said it before...this is the internet

I do not like the other forum, or the context for which it was originally created... to attack PFF.

However, the idea of having another Fiero forum is not a bad thing. First, it gives some of the people who were banned here a place to go and share their ideas on Fieros. Like them or not, there has been a few members banned from PFF who were very knowledgeable on the car. Without another forum, there input would be totally lost.

As for the rating system, I think it has overall served PFF fairly well. I am not the biggest fan of it, but it has tended to keep the peace among forum members, and weeded out those who were causing the most trouble. The down side of it is that there tends to be a mob mentality at times, and it has also scared some people into not really expressing their opinions for fear of negative ratings in retribution. Is it better than a forum with many moderators? Maybe and maybe not. I have seen moderated boards that are worse, simply because the moderators are doing a bad job, or are way too overbearing in their moderator powertrips.

While I have to admit, some of them deserved to go. A few of them were good people who got their bad ratings because they disagreed with the wrong people. It didn't matter that they were right. All that mattered was that they had challenged someone who happened to have a lot of mindless followers quick to give a bad rating. There are a few people here that I can't stand, but I keep my mouth shut and allow them to continue to misinform people, because I know what will happen if I disagree with them.

BINGO! I'm over there for the tech, the laughs and the lack of ratings. Makes for a much more fun forum I think. I've been here a long time, over 4 years. I still have nothing against psf.

I'm a member of the "other forum" and here's why.

It's a great technical resource. The ratio of "actually doing stuff" to "talking about doing stuff" is much higher over there. Jon, Shaun, and Howard are obviously not popular here, but they have more technical knowledge than 95% of the people on here. Of course, they also have a pretty low tolerance for bullsh!t and are not outspoken about it and that's one of the reasons they got banned from here. What some folks may not realize is that they can fling sh!t but they can take it, too.

I also like that it's not rated PG like this forum. I do understand that there are reasons for this and I don't disagree with them. But I'm an adult and I like to be able to say **** if I want to instead of having to type sh!t.

The other forum is lighthearted for the most part, it's quite humerous, and it's a great tech resource. I like it there.

And I also like it here, too.

That's my opinion. Take it for what you paid for it.

Time for me to chime in.

First of all, I don't care about that forum (or any other forum for that matter, since there are plenty). Really, I don't. If anyone thinks I loose a second of sleep over it, they are wrong. I get too many emails and PMs about it, all saying "Cliff, did you see what they have been saying about you? Go check out <insert link here>". No, I didn't see, nor do I care, nor do I feel the need to check it out. I've seen it once or twice when it just started, and that was more than enough for me to figure out what they are doing. It costs me just about every single minute of my spare time to run this place, and I don't intend on wasting any of that time there. Because (let me repeat that just to make sure everybody understands it): I don't care!

So to everybody that goes there and don't like it: don't go there then! And for those of you who doesn't like it here and think the other place is the best thing since sliced bread: stop your whining and stay there! I really can't figure out what the hell you are still doing here if you think PFF sucks so bad.
