Ales and his wife will be through Tulsa, arriving about 2:30 or 3:00 tomorrow (Friday) afternoon. We will meet him at the Cracker Barrel on 31st and Memorial, and go from there.
He plans on staying overnight, so a dinner will also be planned - - I suggest the OutBack. I don't know what motel he is staying at, but I know he is planning on leaving for Ft Worth at about 9:00 on Saturday. So breakfast is also a possibility.
I HATE not returning the hospitality he showed me while I was in Guadalajara, but for a variety of reasons it just isn't possible.
Anyway, pardon all the cross-posts but I just want to be sure that everybody involved from OK will see this and make plans to join us at some point tomorrow afternoon or evening.
Please feel free to call me on my cel at (918) 808-7120 for any more info.

We met with Ales and his wife last night in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn in Collinsville, IL. Unfortunately they had some problems finding an alignment shop that would work on a Fiero (I'll leave that story for Ales to tell ) and it rained the whole way down, so they arrived much later than they planned. They rolled in at about 9:45 pm. We had a great visit! I really enjoyed meeting you and your wife Alex! Naturally we came unprepared - no camera. but fortunately they had one and we got some good pictures. The car..... Oh yeaaaa! 1996 vintage Corvette crate motor in a silver '86? SE. Nice rims too. Sounded sweet. The intake was reversed to bring in air from the flywheel side of the motor and it looked good. Unfortunately we had to go releave the babersitters so our visit was limited to about 30 minutes, but It was worth it. A very nice couple and SO excited about the car.
Alex... Sharon and want to thank you for your special gift and for taking time to meet us after a long, difficult drive. We hope your drive home is safe and that they don't work you too much at work.
What a night Was great meeting you two. got to say your cars is Awesome the conversion looks wonderful kudos Archie! Can't wait to see the picturesLeaving Crackle barrel behind you was fun Nice little Mark left as you took out of the lot. great food thanks to George at Spudders MMMMMMMMM STEAK! Good stories and lots of laughs. Also thank you for teh gift was really unexspected and very appreiated. Keep us posted on how the car turns out I will be waiting impatiently

After steak and ribs at Spudders, we all came over to my place and swapped stories and lies, and watched a video of Wheatstock that Kerry Owen took (autocross and drags). Pictures are forthcoming of their Tulsa visit.
I was unable to return the hospitality that they showed me in Guadalajara due to some remodeling and renovations going on, so Ales and Lulu spent the night in Muskogee with 3atsH0ndas. They left my house about 10:30 for the 40 minute drive from Tulsa to Muskogee (it's 50 miles closer to Dallas/Ft Worth that way anyway).
Then just before midnight I got a call saying that Ales was having a problem with his car. After phone conversations with Blakeinspace, FastFieros, and Archie (including conference calls) ranging between eleven and midnight - and again between 5:30 and 8:00 this morning the decision was that it just made more sense to fix it locally rather than trailer it all the way back to Chicago.
So as I write this, 3atsH0ndas is hauling the car to the Dallas area for FastFieros to repair. Until he gets into it, we aren't sure what the problem is, and I won't speculate. But this should bring everybody up to date as of this moment.

Am i missing a therad someplace or did Ales trip just dead end in texas?
I talked to FastFieros today. Ales car is still on the hoist but he thought he would have the car finished and have Ales and Lulu on their way first thing tomorrow (3/30). I offered to fly Ales and Lulu to Guadalajara via American Airlines on my standby passes, but Ales called his boss and got an extension on his vacation. He then elected to wait for the car to be finished, and drive down to Guadalajara as originally planned.
So to answer your question, Yes - they are still in Texas!
