Here is my home brew thread. The lexans as installed in the thread were not strong enough, so I used 1/4", with 3.8X1.4" aluminum channel on the edges. The channel was siliconed and brass pinned to the lid, and the lexan was attached to the channel with stainless bolts.
Those Celicas are going to really be wild looking, nice work. I dont know what the C6 headlites cost, but betting not cheap. Good luck with the project.
I used 3/16" lexan on mine.bucket is boxed in aluminum angle all around with rubber gasket to seal it inside. Covers are just velcroed on for ez service and cleaning. Driving fast pushes them tighter, never lost one the whole time theyve been done. I even forcasted Id lose a few so made 2 extra covers just in case and havent needed them.

what I'm mostly interested is different ideas on how to fabricate a bracket to hold other lights, I'm sure I can figure out how to attach some lexan or plexiglass to the hood.

This is a mod I did using the headlight buckets from an Eclipse. With this I use DOT standard sealed beam headlights and it drops the top of the headlight cover down by 2.5 inches. While this may not seam like a lot, it makes a huge difference when viewed from in the car.
The picture is with only one done to show the difference

Im prob the newest guy on this forum, I have only had my car a week, Yeah Its already went under the knife. The headlight motors were bad so the lights stayed up, and one was missing the headlight door. Fiero is a very sleek low car , So It made no sense to me to keep the 10" headlight assembly. I have the Lexan cover that will make the flush look, and I will be posting the build up thread tomorrow. I took pics every step of the way. My buckets are made of alluminum, I have a metal/break here at my shop so If anyone wants some , we can work out some prices. This is what I started with a week ago , and where I am now. Hope this give you some more Ideas of your own to venture out and try things with. ON the lower fog lights I made custom brackets that welded to the Inner metal bumper, and extend and down to the lower bumper valance. These bumpers are all rubber down there so A solid structure had to be made to bolt them to. "in case your wondering...lol"
See ya, Jigsaw

Hi Kolja Yes they were for sale I had made 3 sets like those . but no one wanted them, because of the price, so I keep one set for me and gave the others away at my last fiero meeting You know they were from Reinhold and not from pfaff, that is what reinhold was telling me. I showed Reinhold my set when he was here.

Nice looking all. Looking good is one thing, but how well do they allow you to see. fierosa has a modded headlight system on one of his fieros. When asked, he told me he was not completely satisfied with the output of light. I did not have a chance to study his light mod closer but it looked good.

My lights seem to be brighter then the stock, They incorporate the 55 watt bulb, They are driving lights, I didn't check on Dot approval on these lights. I have one set running the low beams and another for high, All 4 light up when switched to high beam. I have added the lower fog lights, which helps even more. But they are very bright, I also have not had anyone complain or blink their lights at me, the standard headlight is 55 watts, and switches to 75 or something when turned to high. These are 55 watt low and 110 watt high beam. Its like daylight when I drive. I live in Oklahoma so they are not critical on dot approval. I have passed, and talked to numerous police officers, and they have no problem with them. Each state is different I'm sure, so you might want to check local laws before using this type light.
That's a pic of mine from last year. I may ditch the round fog lights, as I think the ones you have fit the car better. And what's weird is that I've been considering flushmount headlights for a while now. Unfortunately, it was wrecked (not my fault) a few months back on the front passenger side. I was just about ready to get started on it again, as it has been a while since I've done much of anything with it. Too bad it got wrecked, which will slow down getting paint on it, but sh!t happens. Both headlight assemblies broke (the passenger side obviously completely destroyed), so I guess now is the best time to do the flushmounts, and any other changes.

hey sqoach, Your right I did a double take as well Its cool they are so similar, It even looks as if the wheels are the same. I am in Sand Springs, OK 10 minutes from Tulsa. where is Alva? I have some locations I know where to get some Fieros. Parts or whole cars. What all do you need for your car? I also own a Custom Autobody and paint shop. Maybe I can help out if your close enough. I have some minor bodywork to finish up on the car, and she should be ready for paint in about a week or so, So they wont be twins anymore. Do you know of any Fiero Stashes here in Oklahoma? I need 86 GT side trim pieces.

I'm in the middle of a flushmount conversion adapting kmunson's beautiful fiberlgass buckets and clear covers to use 3 hella small rectangular driving lights on each side - you can buy replacement bulbs for them, 35watt, stock 55watt, and 100watt bulbs - the lamps are actually going to be tapered back.. the ones closest to the center of the car will be about 4" forward of the outside lamps.. inside lights will be 100 watts, middle will be 55 pointed low and central and the outside will be 55watts aimed normal for low beams - the middle ones will always be on, then the outside will light up for low, then turn off and the inside light up for high beams..
I'll post pics when I get em in. If I turned them all on at once it'd be 420 watts of light
