HOLY HANNAH Rob that camera rocks, why does mine suck so bad ? See you on Sat.
Mostly 'cause it was one of the most expensive ones made when my boss bought it (a few years ago)... it was around a $1k if not a little more (now you can pick 'em up on Ebay for around $200-$300). Olympus C-2500 ...that and it has a "Macro" mode to take super-close pics

Purple i can't wait to see what that thing will do on the track. We should all beg SkiTime to run his and FieroX to show what the 3.8's can REALLY do. Wouldn't it be cool to put a tie down strap on the blower like they do on Top fuel dragsters? Would look mean and you may need it...heehee. Anyways thanks for the pics of the solenoids. I hope to have the alky kit running by next weekend and i see what i can do with it at the track. But I can't compare to you guys. I am out of your league.

Would you mind posting more detailed/better lit or focused pics of the way the upper end of the RCC front coil overs attach to the crossmember? Was any cutting involved?

Yep.....I'll try that.
Yes you need to cut out the bumpstop cone section, that is where the coilover attaches. drill 3 holes & bolt together.

You should come down to the autoX in Eau Claire on sunday and see how it turns in the rain.
BTW what would be ball park to put one in?
After the amount of hours put into this project there would be no way in he// I would run it in any water & get all the underside rusty & dirty. And those Nitto Extreme 555's are not at all built for it. But the auto-X shure sounds fun anyhow.
Aww if you done it right, it shouldn't rust that easy. Dirty, maybe but you got a lift, clean it. Just think of the drifts you could pull off in the wet. Forgot, mine will never see a rainy day, but I would not pass up a chance to run in the rain where I couldn't get in trouble

Shawn (& Chad)- the brakes look awesome! I still want to see if you guys can cram a 17" wheel around those setups (I'd love to look through the wheel and see only brake )
Posche Example Shown
Lookin' forwad to going for a ride tomorrow too...
Hmmm... should I bring my G-Tech tomorrow for some fun? You need a pretty accurate weight for HP info, but you can get 0-60, 60-0, 1/4 mile, and G's without it (just need someplace clear & safe enough to test it)

Purple, Im hoping to learn what yall did and put the 13 HD rotors from the C4, Is there any specific caliper you used because I can get the Fbody ones for 120 and rotors for 110. All I would have to make is the brackets for the calipers to mount. I have the factory hubs machined down already.

A V8Fiero hunting we will go; a V8Fiero hunting we will go; hi-ho the marry-o a V8Fiero hunting we will go....
Nice swaps everyone! Nothing like flexing a little V6 muscle around here to the "V8 old-schoolers" some of which who are still in disbelief about how those Buick Grand Nationals can be so fast.
Please post some track times when you get them, I always like to see what fellow 3800's run.

You've got the right formula, now all you need are the brackets. We'll see what we can do about that

When PURPLE and I asked for calipers, I believe we just said '98 and newer F-body. The are a HUGE 2 piston aluminum caliper made for the 12" F body rotor, and fit flawlessly over the 13" HD rotors. I don't believe that GM used more than one caliper those years, but if you're worried, tell them it is a Z28 or SS and I'm sure you'll get the same ones we have. For more info on the research see my thread on FINALLY PICS OF THE 13"s! As far as rotors we just drilled a 5x100 ofset of the corvette pattern. It works great from what PURPLE told me yesterday, and we only have the fronts done!!!! I can't wait for the rears!!

Good question on the autox, since the rest of the car is built like the engine it should handle really good. Besides everyone tells me if it can handle my abuse it has to be built
I saw someone throw up prices for those rotors and calipers and I cannot find a supplier for those kinds of prices. Does someone have an inside deal here? How about some sources. I checked with Advanced Auto, and they cannot get the rotors and the calpiers were like $75. Anyone?

Yes those are inside prices, usually shop cost since I own my own business. Rotors at my cost are $75 for regular ones and $110 for the crossdrilled & slotted, calipers were $35 a piece from a salvage yard, since a car that new surely didnt get junked for bad brakes.
And so I went and dug up some build -up pics....................we'll start out with the donor car, an 87 Silver GT from N.J. with 156,000 and a blown engine. We were supposed to stop & visit with Ski & Jen but weather was HORRIBLE and already set back with a little run in with the N.Y. port authority. Car was complete but a little rough, all I wanted was the clean frame anyhow.
after the car is completely stripped & coated with Pour-15, EVERYTHING gets removed & sandblasted & painted, then the tubular suspension is on it's way in.......
after the suspesion is in we move on to the build of the motor. Start by stripping a 60,000mile Riviera driveline. Install Forged Racing pistons with ARP bolts & conditioned rods................
once we get the heads on (ported & polished) its time to start closing up the engine..............
