Ah man! Didn't even think about that for a license plate!! laugh... oh well MAX ZR 2 will just have to do... Oh Max... you know how I hate clutter... SnoBall is looking mighty cluttered in the floor board department... and you know you can't find a thing after I've cleaned... grin... and I'm so glad you didn't post that awful pic of me tapeing off the engraved fiero plenums (sp?) for Kuro Neko!!
Oh, I think there was only 1 person who said the console was too tall... laugh... and thanks for updating this thread, I got to add it to my favorites so I can keep track of it now... laugh... and you... grin...
You do know that Tsukiko and I can't wait to drive SnoBall once... grin... do you think he will ever be totally "done" ? ? Is there actually such a thing as a fiero being totally done?
Oh I think I agree, I'm not found of the hood scoop either... now if we can just see about those lambo door hinges....
Ummmm that's not SnoBall, is it?? Is there actually another white ZR 2 in Illinois?? Nahhh what am I thinking... well, it could be?
Awww man, i was gonna post a pic, saying "Look what I got from the state....." Oh well.
Cleaning? In MY work area!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Pic of you tapeing? Naaa, saving that one for when needed.....
You and Tusikio driving MY car? I hope not.... as far as a Fiero ever being totally done, Not in the known history of this planet.
Lambo hinges? Know a good banker?
BTW guys, in case you haven't figured out, this is my better (?) half.

Well, Finally got a vacation to work on this car. And I need to get busy, I registered it for Fierorama!!!
Finally got around to working on the engine. EGR Valve was broken in 3 pieces. Found the EGR tube cracked almost in two. had MAP Sensor codes, IAC codes, ran terrible until it warmed up, and was vary dirty and Standard "Fiero" looking.
Replaced the leaking valve covers, replaced the manifold, EGR Valve, EGR tube (Lucked out a few years ago and found a car in the Junkyard with a brand new one on it, inside of it was still shiny!!!) MAP snesor, IAC (Both found new on junkyard cars. ) Tune up and a bit of detailing. Runs great now!!
Here are a couple pics of it when I got done today, enjoy:
Have a great day.

Glad ya found it. Yeah, I got it bookmarked.......
There has always been this one thing that I haven't cared for on this car. I'm not sure if it was due to the person putting the body kit on getting lazy, or if PISA ment it to be this way. Behind the trunk, there is an open area where you see all the lights from behind, as well as the body mounting brackets. It just looks incomplete to me:
Today I started making me a fill piece out of sheet aluminum. I bent it into a 90* angle and cut it to fit the trunk contour. It fastens with 2 bolts in the front and 4 screws to the rear body lip. Here is what it looks like now:
Next I plan to paint it black like the rest of the area so it will hide all the wires and brackets. How do you like it?
Thanks for looking, Max

Well, as my vacation draws near it's end, I figured i'd post a couple pics of the car in it's current condition. I spent the better part of 2 days with polishing compound and rags (Too poor to own a buffer..... ) Cleaning all the dirt and overspray off the car.
I think it's looking pretty good now. However, some of the best is yet to come........
Thanks for looking.

Look at your fine a$$ elanor!!!! Uhhhh, did you name the car at all??? Where did you get the zr-2 graphics that are under the side scoops....??
Yeah, my wife and daughter named the car "Sno'ball". And you're right, the graphics were for the ZR-2 off road series from GM (Includes the S-10, the Geo Tracker....) site is here:

We most certainly did NOT name the car Sno'ball, he named himself!! I can't help it if that's the name he picked... nor can I help it that he's a he... not a she!! Now Kuro Neko on the other hand... she said that name was fine... but then it fits since it means black cat in Japanese... laugh...

you should get rid of the rocker panel on the door, it's no longer functional and distracts from the look of the intergrated on that runs infront, under and behind the door.
IMHO

Hmmmm, you might have something there... hadn't really thought of that... but it's too close to Fierorama, and still have a ton of stuff to do... but it's almost there!! laugh... man I can't wait to see the seats in the car and the door panels on!! The closest I've come to riding in the car since we bought it 9 months ago was to sit on the floor boards to vacuum it out!! laugh... Plus I'm sure we'd have to paint under that rocker panel and we've had a hard time matching the white, but it might be a site easier if we can take the car to the paint place... laugh... although I did find some touch up paint that seems to work really well...

Yeah I know it looks a bit out of place. As wife said, it's too close to Fierorama now. Maybe later I can remove them and paint the doors.

Update: Maybe I should call this part "Finally got to DRIVE the ZR-2"
Car is just about ready. Finished the custom work on the Fiero door panels, got the new material put on, and the doors put together. Put the seats in and drove him about 60 miles yesterday evening. Ran kinda rough at first, about what you'd expect from a car sitting 8 months. By the time evening was done it ran pretty well.
Here is a pic of our door panel design. I thinned down the upper part in the front to fit the Camaro dash and molded it in to fit the speaker. Filled in the groove at the top, moved the door handle back about 2 1/2 inches. Replaced the arm rests with the ones from the rear doors of a 4 door Grand Am, the latch assy with ones from a Lumina. The panel is now about 40% original Fiero panel and 60% fiberglass. The black and blue are vinyl, the Silver is leather (Didn't have the silver in vinyl.)
I think it complements the dash and steering wheel rather nicely. What do you think?
Thanks for looking.

Thanks. well I thought about a longer build up, but most of the info can be found in the "Designing an new dash" AKA the firebird dash thread. There's not a lot of difference in the wireing, just the mounting. I was gonna hold back till Fierorama for the full interior pics, but since you said "Please".... LOL
Here are some pictures showing the biggest cash out paid on this project, (Short of the car itself...) But well worth the cost. Thank you Mr. Mike!!!
And one last shot of the outside, my new desktop pic.
Have a good one,
Max
Edit: One pic didn't show up....

Man, that's a beautiful interior Max ... especially the work on the seats
Thanks. As I said, the seats I can't take credit for, thay are Mr. Mikes all the way. Good news however for anyone else with a ZR-2 is they can get em made without having to pay the custom logo charge now, Mr. Mike now had the logo's.

Thank you. I got about 600 miles on the car now, using it everyday. Still have a few minor details to work out, but then they are never really finished, are they?
Somehow I missed this thread over the last few months..
Nice car. Looks like you've put some effort into it, huh? Keep up the good work!!!
Sorry I didn't reply to this sooner, time just got away from me. Thank you for the compliments, it gives a real good feeling when someone complements your work. Yes, this project took the biggest part of my time from March to September, but I did make my goal, I was able to drive the car to Fierorama (Had a great time by the way, thanks NIFE, good job) Even got a certifiacate for placing in the rebody class (It sits on my desk in a treasured location....) The car may be on the road as my daily driver (Fair weather....) but it will never be done....... It's a Fiero, none of them are ever done!!
Have a great day,
Max

Update on this car. When I got this car the temp guage didn't work, traced it down to a bad sensor. Two days before Fierorama I got the sensor for my temp guage and installed it. On the way to Fierorama the temp gradually warmed way up. I had to turn the heat on full and open the windows (92 degrees I think it was that day) to keep the engine cool enough to continue. I also pulled the thermostat. Well, I made it home allright and been checkinbg into the overheat problem.
The other day I stumbled across this:
The right side coolant pipe. I don't know who did this, but it could very well restrict flow to the radiator.
Off to a junkyard I knew had an 86 coupe been there a couple years to get a coolant pipe. What i found will be the subject of another thread. Needless to say i got a replacement pipe and got it put on.
