The Fieros West (West Coast Fieros) boys are thinking of leaving early Thursday. So we might be there early Thursday afternoon. Who knows kicking it might be a possibility. That's if we really take off on time that is.....................you know how that goes!!!!
L.A. guys taking off early? I gotta see this!
Mary and I will be there sometime Wednesday, and will be milling around the hotel on Thursday.

We visited the hotel today to check on any last minute details. Everything is going OK.
We got the room block extended one week, to June 8. PLEASE make your reservation ASAP. There won't be any rooms if you just show up that weekend, anywhere in Truckee. If you are not sure, you can cancel up to 24 hours in advance without penalty.

Has anyone made any dashplaques for my Super Duty Fiero? I swear it's an 88 GT. I took it to WCF and had a 7.3L Turbo Diesel put in it! Wanted to be the 1st on the block! Somehow, some reason, people don't believe me!?

Checklist, so that we'll get along. - must be willing to room with a chick. [yeah. that'll be hard to deal with...] - must be able to withstand many hours of gushing about MINI Cooper S's - must realize that MINIs ARE NOT BMW's!!! [contrary to what you may think] - must relinquish about 3/4 of all available counter space to such items as makeup, clothes and other "girly stuff".
PM if you're interested. we can work out payment and schtuff there.
I'm not going to be able to make it this year. My car is apart again (investigating knocking and metal bits in the oil) and sucking up money. I probably dont have enough to get it all back together until another paycheck or two, and I injured my hand so I didn't get to work this week either. When its back on the road maybe I'll have a little party or cruise to make up for not being at Westfest.

Very sad Steve Very sad. I thought that was a low milage engine?? If it is knocking better take it down now before you ruin the crank. If I take the GT you can take my 88 coupe.

I don’t think we can get the peddles and chain hooked up in my Fiero in time for the show. Steve, Roy and I are working on other peoples projects, taking all of are spare time. Steve, Roy, Maddog, and I. will be there even if we have to drive a non Fiero. This will be the first time in 12 years we haven’t participated in the show.

89,000 miles on the 3.4 DOHC (my Duke had low miles) but I put in a freshly ground crank with all new bearings before I ran it.Anyhow, somehow metal bits got into the oil past the filter. I still dont know how that happened. The bearings look really bad but the crank seems to be fine. Yeah, I took it down right away after I heard the knocking. I've inspected all the rod journals so far and replaced the bearings on those (the journals look okay). Mains are next, but I dont know how to replace the main bearing shells without removing the crankshaft, which I really dont want to have to do. All the bearings got messed up from metal bits. I'm still looking for the source. Oh well.. there's always next year. Maybe I'll be done with the rest of the car by then.

I'm not gunna go. Reasons that y'all don't need to know about... nor do I want to try to explain it. But I promise I'll have fun, and you will too.

I do realize that West Fest is at the end of the month! If we talk to Sparza about moving West Fest to the beginning of the month from now on, wouls that help with your "Reasons we don't need to know about"!

I'm thinking this might be the last time she graduates from High School. Honestly Charles have you seen some of these seniors? Hard to believe they are 18 and 19 year olds. You know you would blow off all the fiero folk to go party with them instead.

I will tell you one thing.. Living near the beach, and dealing with customers literally living a block away from the beach, I see women in G-Strings, and Thongs and everything else! Cum to find out, they are 18, 19 years old, **** ... As long as they won't tell, I'll bring them home.... If I don't, the woman will beat me too it!

Bear: I received the letter that you guys sent out for what I’m assuming is dealing with West Fest o5, but there was nothing in there. It seemed that the "sticky" for the envelope wasn’t up to snuff for the Postal Offices abuse and the contents fell out.
I’m not going to be going, but I thought that I'd let you know as this may be the case w/ others that were mailed out.

Thanks for the heads up, Allen. Yeah, sometimes the envelope adhesive cuts loose.

What are the plans exactly for the Sunday drive into Tahoe? I see that we are leaving at 11 am.How long do you estamate that trip to be? We have an unfortunate change of plans and have to be back in the bay area by 6 or 7 at the latest.Sucks since I had lots of plans for sunday and monday. So probably not going to hang around friday or thursday just saturday.Might even just change my hotel reservations to stay on saturday night only and stay in Tahoe thursday and friday.
fierobear... we are bringing a 30 foot motorhome and i was wondering if there is going to be anyproblem from the hotel if we park it there. There is an awning that hangs off the side and we were hoping to display the car underneath it for various convienence reasons. LMK if there is going to be any problem with doing this. Thanx

It is with a heavy heart that I regret to inform all my friends here that I will not be able to attend this year. Those familiar with page 1 of this thread know that I was under the mistaken impression that WestFest would be held in July. As such, I made other plans for this date, and have not been able to reconcile them with WestFest. Take a lot of pictures for me, and I'll see you all at the Coast Run.

Last time in Truckee, Chris West and crew parked theirs in the hotel parking lot. They did not seem to object. Failing that, there is a dirt lot next door to the hotel that will be available for trailer parking. You can probably park it there.
