so........ who all is going?

You AZ guys will be here in Vegas Wed at night at midnight and leaving Thrus. morning?
Do you guys want to meet up with anyone from Vegas going up? If so let me know the details and I will try to arrange something.

This years thread does not seem to have the enthusiasm as last years did. All I hear is "ah damn I'm not going"

I still say next year should be in Vegas again.

Next year, we're talking about San Diego. Of course, two people have already told me "that's too faaaaaaaaar!" A couple of people from 270 miles away from Truckee told me "that's too faaaaaar!", too. I guess next year, we'll have to have the show in 10 different places, so noone has to drive more than 30 or 40 miles.

San Diego is far (9 hours from the Bay Area??) but would be well worth it in my opinion. It is certainly a beautiful place to visit and there is lots to do. (San Diego Zoo, Sea World, bay cruises, trolley to Tihauna, etc....)

If it is decided to have it there, I wouldnt think of staying there less than 3 or 4 days. There is too much to see and do....

hehe nope. never ever. but I have a feeling that if the repairs are too huge, we'll just sell it. One of Diana's friends loves the car, and he's quite the mechanic [before having a Fiero... even!], so he'll be good for her.

I posted "who all is going" and got zero, zip replies, so I guess no one. Just more of "how I can't go"

Bear what happened to the "extra regs." you said you were sending to Vegas?
The flyer I got looks like something I would leave on a Fiero on the side of the road

I just talked to the hotel, and although our room block has expired, there are a couple of rooms left due to other cancellations. If you missed the reservation deadline, call them today and reserve a room.

We won't be going this year cuz it's too faaaaaaar! We should be able to make it next year if it's in San Diego though. Of course I would much prefer it if it was in Vegas. Any time I can come up with an excuse to go to Vegas I'm there!

We got REALLY lucky with the 2003 show. It wasn't too hot, and that was in August. I'm not sure I'd want to take that chance again.

The forecast (as much as you can call it that in California by betting on what is coming off the ocean will do) looks like low 70's and clear. Subject to change without notice......

I think we should move it around some. San Diego sounds great to me (since I live hear..lol). I would be going this year (even though it is so far away), except I'm in the middle of moving and buying a new and getting ready for my move, and I don't have my car ready.

I remember the last one in San Diego. I didn't know there was such a large Fiero following until that year. I think San Diego would be a great place to have it. I could even help out with the planning.

Hopefully next year I'll have my car done or close to being done too.

Well, if you remember the Vegas show that Chris & I kept going, we had people telling us the same thing.. It's too far to drive, yada yada yada... If you remember, though, we had people there from Massachusets(sp), Utah, Nevada, Wyoming and others. So for the locals it will probably, yes, be too far to drive! We can't please everyone, John...

Oh.. BTW.. I was up in your hood this weekend John.. Fremont, Hayward, Oakland, San Fran, Dublin, Pleasentvile, etc. I don't know how far away I was from you, though!

Oh trust me, I did that all on my own! Actually, a friend that I used to work with when I lived in Seattle and now lives in San Fran, and another guy I worked with that still lives in Seattle all met up from Thurs - Sun., just for kicks and giggles... The only place I remember going to in Hayward was some hill district off 19th & D street I believe it was. And then near I think it was a civic center or city center or something, where the street dead ended. Other than that, it was back on the freeway off to San Fran.

awh man.. Sorry John.. .I wasn't driving, and I was there visiting friends in the Victoria district of San Fran, so I didn't really have any time to coordinate stuff.. You are a 1/2 mile from the D & 19th, or the civic or city center or whatever it is!?

I was reading through some old Fiero mags and noticed FOCOA had it in Vegas a few times, at the IP even.
And you don't have to worry about 'Vegas' being sold out. A hotel away is better than a town away.
You can even pick up parts for your other Fiero projects

I did my whole engine swap in well over 105 heat. Once you get past the delirious state, you'll be fine.

Don't you have to be delirious to work on a Fiero in the first place?
