Ok, so I removed alot of the grey interior pieces, washed and cleaned them so they could be painted. I am using Krylon's Fusion black spray paint. The paint bonded really well to the plastic trim pieces. The arm rests are that soft vinyl right, well my paint remained tacky/sticky on them. What kind of paint works on these soft vinyl pieces?? Thanks!

You have to clean every thing off and redo them with vinyl paint available from any auto paint store ,on the A and B pillars it will dry but the door panels and arm rest it won't and that is why it is sticky.
I have used automotive vinyl spray with great success - BLACK-FADED arm rests and door panels back to original burgandy, and you could NOT tell it wasn't stock! Prep the surface well, some type of wax & grease remover is the best (you can buy at an auto paint store) & apply it in THIN coats is best, doesn't take long to dry, 2-3 coats is all that's needed. Works equally well on hard platic and soft vinyl, like seats! Great stuff!

Fusion is for 'hard' plastics. Vinyls on things like doors, seats and so on need to use vinyl color like SEM. Your going to have to use laquer thinner or reducer to remove the fusion.....and lots of paper towells.

As I recall PPG makes a auto vinyl spray. I have not tried it but I plan to when I get the $ to work and my car some more. Good luck with this project Angie
I haven't used the SEM stuff, I couldn't find it anywhere... so I went with the Duplicolor Vinyl& Fabric. It worked very well everywhere except the armrests, I'm not sure if they just get that much more wear than the center console or if I didn't prep them well enough, but after about three months they began to wear at the elbow spot and the driver side one actually cracked and chipped off. More sun damage possibly? I still recommend it though, it's not like the armrests are difficult to pop off and repaint. For reference, the flat black holds much better than the gloss on soft vinyl, if you want a sheen on it just use a light coat of armor-all or black magic. $5.99 at Autozone, $4.89 at O'Reilly.
For high use area like your armrests if their black is go to a shoe store and get some black shoe dye. It comes in a plastic bottle with a sponge applicator tip. It wears very well and can be touched up anytime. I use it on my Corvettes door top panels, shifter and steering wheel. I retouch it a few times during the summer. It last on the steering wheel great and after you buff it up, it wont come off on your hands at all.

i used the krylon fusion on my car, all i did was wash the parts with dishwashing soap and a scrub pad, and left them outside for a week, to dry, when i first tried to pick one up after a couple days it was tacky, but after a week in 90* weather it was fine.
