With the threat of evacuating Houston, any chance of moving the Ruckus to this weekend? I might be headed west by Thursday if the predictions for TS/Hurricane Rita hold up.
This weekend is not good for me.....working.

Sorry I haven't had a chance to reply, I have had a bad case of HUBS.
(Head Up Butt Syndrome)
I say we gotta count cars. It IS a Fiero show after all. And the penalty IS washing a car, not an attendee... that would be as gross as seeing me in boxers!
So counting Fiero's it is! Mike if you disagree... (adopts Soup Nazi voice) "No Cookies For You!!!"
You know what... I smell a new Ruckus tradition in the works here

Technically, I think the Ruckus is more a Fiero event than a "show". But, whatever, I have an idea: Put both cars side by side. Blake washes Mikes and Mike washes Blakes. Who ever finishes first wins!!
Or who ever gets the biggest laughs…
... or not!
Just a thought.

You mean to tell me you people are going to laugh at Blake.
Then on top of that, you want me to wash his Fiero when I win. I do not understand and or think so! You and Heidi are mischievous little people and should be ashamed of yourselves and your adopted Rosemary’s Child, Kevin.
I knew she was hiding behind that camera so we could not see the darkness in her eyes. You people are Bad Trolls or Evil Leprechauns or something.
Well Blake, old buddy I will not laugh at you …………..TOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!

46 people attending and not a single person has anything to say? For shame...
What time are the rest of yall Dallas folk thinking about heading out, I think it's getting near enough to begin that discussion...
Is there any kind of schedule of events yet?

Dont guess you wont follow me after this weekend trip to my place. I lost you about the 2nd toll booth on 190... At least Tim kept up in a Nissan of all things, well, I did have to pull over once and wait on him too. He didnt know the way to my place and I knew you did Amber. Hope your car makes it. That engine does not sound healthy.
Heh, we were like "Humm... I think they might have toll tags...", we were tossing our quarters in as we heard you take off and knew that was the end of that caravan We actually did catch back up once we got into McKinney, we were one car behind Tim at the first light but lost yall there and then stopped at the gas station.
Ah well, we'll have quite a mixture of differently aspired Fieros just leaving my house which will be fun on it's own. Tim has agreed to drive my car so I won't have to (embarrassing but true, I hate driving on highways), but we are going to take the GT instead of Ol' Orange- it overheated on our way home from your place, not in traffic or anything, and it's before now it's always run really cool. I guess it's time to give up on it for now, heartbreaking as it may be. At least it still doesn't leave me Fiero-less (thank you again).
Like you said at the meeting, I'd like to at least try to coordinate a group trip down but if it doesn't happen (whether people just want to leave at different times or we just get seperated) it's no big deal. I think we're planning on Friday afternoon-ish... but that's not at all set in stone.

Amber, set a time. Hillsboro is a good place, I think. We will be free to join you there any time Friday. Hopefully, more can join the parade.
A schedule change at work means I have to show up early Sunday morning, so I don't know if I'm coming or not. Jazzman, if you see this, I won't have the hotel room Saturday night after all, since if I do come I'll have to leave by Saturday evening.

Ok, so I need a place to sleep. I can't afford a hotel room on my own, so if someone wants to split a room Saturday night or let me sleep on their couch, please let me know ASAP or I'll have to cancel, which I don't want to do.
How's about meeting in Hillsboro at either 4pm or 5pm, that way we get to Austin just after traffic has died down and hopefully for those of yall up north you'll get to miss the traffic through Dallas. Then maybe we'll stop for supper once we're into Austin. Sound decent?
-Amber
P.S. James, if you really are thinking about cancelling you can sleep on the floor of our room, but I will warn you it's getting a little crowded already and we would break the 4 per room rule. Still, there's no way you aren't coming so the offer is there...

Pick one! At 4 p.m. we arrive in Austin about 6:15, at 5 p.m., we arrive about an hour later (134 miles). I'm sure there is a place near the hotel for a good get together/supper about 8 p.m. (and since there will be no more driving that evening, adult beverages can be consumed with supper)!
Ok, so I need a place to sleep. I can't afford a hotel room on my own,

C'mon Jazz you only live once...
Even after my unscheduled 4 day trip to San Antonio I'm still coming to the Ruckus. And I will probably have extra gas cans strapped to my car. I don't ever want to be out on the road without fuel ever again.

I just bought a house, using all my money, savings, for the downpayment. That was before gas costs nearly doubled. It's a math problem, I just don't have the money. I just spent over $200 two weekends ago renting a truck to move the bulk of my shop to my house, and am currently shelling out over $200/month just for gas, not to mention over $120 for electric ($40 more than last year!). My first raise in three years was four months ago, a whopping 25 cents, so I'm in the hole just on gasoline.
Contrary to popular belief, I really don't make a whole lot, and for the last five months my minimum outgo has exceeded my income by more than $300 a month.

Yeah that sucks! I'm probably in worse shape than that, but I'm in denial. This Rita evacuation is going to eat my lunch. Where is my $2,000 debit card??

WBailey1041 is in the process of relocating here in Texas. His Ruckus fees are paid but I do believe he has not made lodging plans yet. I should see him soon and will have him get in touch with you. Or do you already have arrangements ?

Alright, I'll take on that responsibility- let's say 5pm on Friday at the Diamond Shamrock right after you get into Hillsboro. You'll see it. If this isn't suitable let me know, otherwise we'll be there waiting for yall.
Weather is saying cool front on Friday... let's hope they're right for once.

Sounds good to me, if its okay with you Amber, I will leave with yall from your house for the trip down.
Sure, the more merrier... we'll be leaving here about 4pm. Last time we clocked it it took 57 minutes to get to that Diamond Shamrock. John, Lloyd, anyone else heading out the same time?
