We will not be there until Sat morning early. Going to be going on to E Texas from Austin for a week at the farm, and it's going to be a lot of chainsaw work this time around, but I'm determined to take one day off to fish, so if I drive up with an UglyStick poking out the sunroof, don't think any thing of it.
Anyone in Austin got an empty spot in their yard we can leave one of the Fieros for a week? I really don't want to drive both of them all the way to San Jacinto County and back.

James, it sounds like the $20 is seperate and just for the barbeque... if this is the case, is there a Taco Bell or something nearby? I can't (and won't) eat $20 worth of anything.
Don, will the curb in a safe no crime neighborhood be ok?
*****Capital City Ruckus Info ******
Have you seen this???
Also some notes:
1. This Ruckus will be unlike any other. This year we have a charity. There will be door prizes and a raffle! Help out a little and win some nice prizes. I just heard that more tickets increase your chances! Who would've known!
2. LUNCH ORDERS: Please select your lunch preference and get it to me ASAP !! (See above^^) Oh and the Salt Lick is BYOB Ron Call me or pm me your questions and we can talk.
3. Boat Ride: These nice people are customers/friends. They are being very kind to allow us to have our dinner and games there. Please treat their property / neighborhood with niceness!! No Hot Rodding in the neighborhood. And Mike P. NO STREAKING THIS YEAR !!! not there! You can swim in the cold lake water if you want. Could feel good!
The route is around 80 miles. give or take a mile
Bring hand held radios
And don't forget the other stuff, that I forgot to mention ! huh ok?

Hey Guys, it reads that the $20.00 is for two meals! Lunch and dinner. Choices are for lunch only - a varied spread for dinner. So, two good meals for $20.00 is very reasonable.
Of course, I could be reading it incorrectly, too. If so, Amber you are right. $20.00 for a BBQ sandwich is too costly.
John is correct! ( no prize John, sorry) $20 will cover you for food for the day ( maybe even leftovers?)
Comes down to $10 for the lunch ( we even have to pony up a bit extra just so you CAN have it AT $10)
Then dinner is also $10 ( I would think all you can eat [ not a qoute] there will be a ton of food)
We rounded it off to $20 when in reality it would be $27.46 for both.
Last resort.........Don't eat with us. If you want Taco Bell or to eat at the Hyatt, it is up to you! But it is find your own meal then..... Oh and there are very few (if any) fast food places out there. maybe a burger at a gas station??? (I did not check)

This is definitely going to be the best Ruckus ever. Since I have to work Sunday (very rare), I was going to just come up Saturday... BUT... I just now found out that I have to work Saturday too!!! GRRR...! I just can't get a break. Take lots of pics!

Okay, that sounds better... the earliest post about food made it seem like it was $20 for the one meal... course now I feel bad yall have to pay some out of pocket.
Going to be a fun weekend, I better get outside and put my car back together. Ah, if only I were kidding.
Ok, I can do $20 for two meals, thought that's still a lot more than I usually spend on food. Hehehe, $20 normally buys me four weeks of lunches at work, with a little change left over.
Is there another alternative to the soft drinks? I quit soft drinks and caffeine years ago.

I read in there Ice Tea, Lemonade, Water... and BYOB!
Guys, $20.00 for both meals is insane. When Kevin and I priced out Salt Lick, there was much hand wringing on how it could be made affordable... and so much credit goes to He and Ken and Heidi. I do not know how they did it... but that is a super deal for the chow! Salt Lick is Texas famous! Top 10 BBQ joints in Texas Highways!
James also mentioned the $25.00 reg fee... That money is being channeled into a lot of different areas, primarily being Tshirt expense. There is also printing fees for flyers, maps, badges. Badge holders. Raffle Tickets (1 included!). Defraying cost of one time items. Gas for the boats. Awards. In addition to all this, a portion has been allocated to Austin Smiles. I am betting a bigger portion than one would guess...
Despite the cost of what is charged to register and eat, you would fry your mind at the outlay the hosts have put forward... without complaint. Well, Kevin complained. j/k
You try to organize a show, make it nice, make it work, make it successful, and not be cost burdensome to the attendees... The host inevitably makes up the shortage and shoulders the expense. All in order to get those aforementioned points. Ask Chuck from number 1. Ask John, Loyde, & I from # 2. Ask Don & Jane from # 3. Ask Amber & Daniel from their shindig. Ask Rob regarding the Round Up. It's not cheap guys.
Now that I've scared everyone away... whose volunteering for Ruckus 5!
Unfortunately, not working on Saturdays means my Saturdays are now free for other things which get in the way of me going to things like this. Sorry. Maybe one day.....

Thank you in advance to Kevin, Heidi, and Ken for arranging this for us... I can only imagine how much work it must be. I'm sure I'll be in yall's position someday, so just wait till then and you can give me a hard time about something
On another note it looks like I'll be missing a somewhat successful caravan on Friday night, but Daniel is still going with you Stephen to meet John at the scheduled time. I'll be about an hour and a half behind, so I'll meet up with you in Austin around 8:30 or 9pm.
Now, let's discuss the length of this cruise and current gas prices...

Ok, looks like i can make the Fri night caravan. Where is everone meeting to head down (Ambers)? If so, where is this? LMK... Steve
Glad you can make it Steve, yes meeting at Ambers place and leaving from there. Daniel, will be there probally a little before 4 if thats ok with yall.
Early is fine, we'll just be doing some final polishing...
Meeting either at my place at 4 or in Hillsboro at 5 is the plan... I live in Cedar Hill (which is on the south side of Dallas, off 67) so if you'd be using 35E then go ahead and meet us here, otherwise in Hillsboro would be easier for you. If you want to meet here PM for the address and you can Mapquest it.
See yall then (and in cool weather, woo!)

The KVUE-TV Studio 1 may be available for us Sunday (10-09-05) for those who would like some great pics of your car. We can use the studio if it is not already booked. At this point, there are no bookings for Sunday so we should be able to use it. It is uncertain because it cost $$$$$$$$$$$$$ to book the studio. It will be FREE to us because we are not booking it. Should know Saturday if it will be available. NOTE: BYOC (Bring Your Own Camera!)
Be safe on the roads to Austin. The life you save maybe your own. I read a few years back that most vehicle accidents happened within 25 miles from home….so I moved.
We look forward to seeing our friends from past events and making some new ones as well.
Be Safe,
Mike & Sharon Parker

I am sorry to announce that I will not make it to Austin. I tried my best to get another 3800 on the road, but without a reprogrammed PCM I am doing everything manually. I still have to touch up a few other things as well including making a dog bone bracket and taking my drive shafts back out to repair the leaks. Anyway, I hope everyone has a good time and I will definetly be unvailing my master piece next year in San Antonio. Everyone drive safe and have some fun for me.

I made it!! The car ran great and there was little traffic and plenty of gas along the way. What a difference a couple of weeks makes. I filled up three times between houston and Austin today. I wasn't taking any chances this time.
