I won an auction on Ebay and recieved the owners manuel for an 85 and tucked inside was this plate and booklet... thought Id pass this on to everyone. I only scanned in two pages of eight, but WOW, I never got to read this. The first paragraph is shocking . I will be keeping this a memorbilia, can you imagine getting into a Fiero and seeing this plate ??? Id get back out! John
I've always wanted to read that, but still haven't found one. Do you think you could scan the rest of it? So is this one is different from the ones 84 owners got?

Does a hell of alot for resale! lol! I have both a english and french plate. The french plates are rare in the states but look better since most people can't read it.

lol Gm really sent that plate to new fiero owners? That sucks! its like "your car could start on fire if you didnt get the recall done" I wonder how many people put this on their ride? I'm betting allot got taken off over the years and thrown out...
Your welcome....took a little while to scan and crop and resize and upload through PIP and then and then and then, but was well worth it if it helps a fellow Pffer

Then people wonder why Fiero's had such a bad wrap in the public eye. And why they are still referred to as "Fire Traps". Gotta wonder who was doing PR as Pontiac in those days. One would think it was better to fix the car versus placing a plaque that says.. "This car is prone to fires unelss you regularly service it"..GREAT way to keep folks buying GM cars.
"Here's why this is important. If your engine doesn't have enough oil, the engine can get too hot. If it does, engine parts can break up, and pieces can be thrown through the side of the engine block. The exhaust manifold is there. If it is hot enough, the escaping engine oil can catch fire, causing an engine fire."
Man, there's a sales pitch to get a return customer....

Just what I want people seeing when they get in my car, a big silver sign that reads :Warning you may die today... no wonder why I've never seen one of those plaques in a Fiero

It's kind of a "Fiero Ownership for Dummies and Complete Idiots", huh? 'Check Your Oil' - 'Watch Your Gauges'. Now I need a bumper sticker: 'In case of stupidity this car will explode'.
Now just watch: I'll have something like this happen to me...

Still amazes me that the PR department thought this was a good idea. "Thanks for buying a Fiero, here's how to avoid the standard equipment car-b-que feature." Gee, anybody have any ideas why people think Fieros are fiery death traps? Way to go Pontiac

printed and published by the Corvette department...
I got one of these for an 88 from a gm mechanic back home that had some Fieros. He had a stack in his toolbox. The way he explained it to me, is that when cars came in to get the recall work done this was supposed to be installed on the cars and the literature given to the customer.

Wonder if GM still has them. it would be an interesting thing to have. Along with an original sales advertisement for the car. I wonder how they were advertised when new.
I have at least two of those. Back in the day, when they sent you the mail about the recall campaigns for the manifold deflectors, they included this stuff.
