I have a FiEuro shifter plate in my convertible. I like this one better-- its not a huge difference but its shape is more eye pleasing -- what with the nicer gate slots, and I like the stainless surface better than the chromed plate on mine. I'd order one for myself except that I'm making a custom interior and I think I'm going to go with a round-based boot system. Perhaps some of you remember my old 3d renderings. I've actually got most of it done, and even some finished parts. I have the same hesitation to go into full production (my crystal ball says I'd be flamed too) but then again, you gotta have a thick skin. Afterall, message boards ALWAYS erupt into this kind of BS, and you have to simply expect it and most of all, you have to learn not to give a **** . I've grown a crust of 'dont care' having been online for so many years hehehe.
Again, nice product. Its the kind of thing people should be thinking of: Small, cheap, easy to install. Next time produce it for Honda and become rich! :o)
This plate does look pretty good installed. It may be something I try to aquire once I find my next Fiero. I am sure the plate takes some work to get it to the "finished" stage, but it looks like it is well worth the time and effort considering the cost of the plate.
On a side note, I just about wet my pants when I read the following commnet posted by Formula88: "It's like selling someone a DIY leather interior, then shipping them a cow."
Hi, I had my interior in pieces when I bought the shift plate and now I finally got so far so I could try to mount it. It doesn't fit :-( What am I doing wrong? My shifter hits the gates even before I can get any gear in, there are no room in the middle of the plate to gear at all. Has everyone else had their plates fitted and working? I have a short shifter but it shouldnt be a problem or?

This gated plate was designed to be used with Rodney Dickman's Euro Short Shifter.
That was mentioned in the thread...
"The plate I designed..... I designed around his Euro / Fi-Euro replacement shifter. It's important to note (this applies to anyone) I would not recommend using any other shifter with this plate as I don't know if it will hit or not."

My '88 Formula is fitted with an interior I designed for the rebody market and studied the possibility of using a functional gate set-up. The photos show the Euroshifter from Rodney Dickman in use with my custom gate. As you can see the shifter position is too high for this console. A flat floor rebody would be needed for this setup to work with this interior.

thx! Itīs the euroshifter, I didnīt dare to order the short-shifter and after shipping over the atlantic finding out it doesnīt fit so.. But I read in the instructions that the euroshifter gives a shorter throw also, and if Iīm not dreaming it feels quite shorter between the gears. Havent been able to drive the car yet though.
