Well... it all started a few weeks ago when i got an e-mail from the WNY yahoo Fiero group.....88 Coupe 5 spd for sale...$600... im want, but am broke! so i ask owner if i can pay bi weekly...says its A-OK well 2+1/2 months later i drive 4 hrs out to see it and transfer title and saw lots of Fieros and LOTS of parts! (I will be there again for the MAFOA swap meet...) love the little duke, dirty, but i see a diamond in the rough. Got it registered and everything today (mon.) then left to pick it up at 1pm On the way my buddy got a speeding ticket 80 in a 65 but i told him id pay half for taking me... But got to the car, put plates and reg. on, and drove away! The difference in suspension in the 88 is amazing! my 86 SE is nowhere near this (and the truck is NO comparison..) the only difficulty i had was 1.Tough going from driving my 5spd truck, to the duke, to used to lotsa torque and ponies... stalled once or twice... 2.Alternator belt DEF needs to be replaced... squeaky MOFO.... First i am going to get her runnin like a champ... i already have roller tip rockers (1.6 i think?) gonna replace wires,plugs,o2 sensor, oil, possibly coolant, all filters, dogbone w/poly, i think need to replace drivers side lock too... key wont open it, but works for pass side?!... i was also surprised to find a PERFECT headliner! (im pretty sure its not origional, but nonetheless looks great!) gotta also replace some interior minors, seat (OBVIOUSLY drivers side...) might just reupholster tho.. seat lever cover thing on pass side and clean her up.... well here are before pics!!! and i will have afters tomorrow!
OOOOoo shes so DIRTY!

and her 2nd last night with brothers and sisters...

more tomorrow!

ok well more pics will be up later tonigh, im on my way to tattoo place again... Today i TOTALLY cleaned it up, then replaced the following..
Plugs
Wires
O2 sensor
Air filter
Added ground strap
PCV valve

Have
fuel filter
roller tip rockers

i also wet sanded some of the sun fade off....worked decent, didnt get rid of it but helped....

Seems to be a slight grinding when i start off, may be cv joint?!?
and an odd light squeking from back left tire, not brake squeal either, sound like something rubbing rotor/rim?

ok boys and girls, here is the clutch pedal problem, 1st picture, is where clutch sits, and begins to engage, second pic shows that i can pysically pull pedal towards me, and it is LOOSE. Its fine where it sits, but it still doesnt seem right, clutch pedals are not loose at the end like that....i really dont know how to attack a clutch problem, so far i bought the new pedal, but pushrod is loose too.... ANYONE?!?!

Thats one nice Fiero. And it looks like you have a lot of other nice fieros! How many days did you have to wait in line at the DMVs to register that?

Its good to know there people in WNY with more fieros than Buffalo Auto Wrecking....oh...last summer they had a 88 coupe....but i dont know if its still there

OK. Weeeeeeell quite a bit has happened over the last few days! 1st got my truck stuck! https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum6/HTML/032205.html and tried to bleed clutch for 3 days... didnt work. so took it to monroe, well something in clutch area is ded. pressure plate , throwout bearing..sumthin... fork is already engaged (guy showed me and i understood , but have a hard time explaining it online. but simply put, now i gotta do clutch myself. this is going to be fun. (sarcasm!) itd be ok if my truck wasnt stuck either... but its not to bad, itll be up there on big engine repairs ive done. add character and experience and knowledge. LET THE REPAIRS AND PICS BEGIN. ok well tomorrow i begin......

take the clamp off the top of the bracket than the shift select cables will disconnect from the tranny and can be set off to the side.
