I WOULD BE DONE but...i need a 50 torx bit and its 5:20 am.... im gonna pull an all nighter so i can be done, wash, wax, and install my LED's before i visit my mom for Mothers day. i also am buying a special present for the car! (youll see pics in 3-4 weeks) so heres what happened today. the sleeves took a while to get perfect...
then the thing that took the LONGEST was lining up the reat bolts AND fitting the new sleeves.... (ALSO had to drill out old sleeve from sub cradle...)
but FINALLY i got to this!
tightened eveything up , then was putting rotors on, when i realized i dont have a torx (its now 1:30am...) AAARRRRGG so me and a friend went out and skated till about 3 then i came back and did what i could, made sure everything was connected etc..... got pads on a wierd way...took caliper apart..
hm... may go out and organize tools again..... as well as triple check everything.... oooor may take a nap... that way i dont fall asleep driving cause the Fiero is soooo comfortable...

got the piece, tried bleeding the clutch again to no avail.... have to install the coolant hose thing... then she at least should run... i hope.. but still gotta tackle the clutch and brakes... (brakes should be easiest...)
Hey, when are you going to get this thing on the road? Mine will be running tues or wed. I just go to wait for my pass. side caliper to come in, and im good to go.....if your fiero is on the road over the weekend and you cant make it down to pa we should try to get together with other buffalo people and do something its going to be in the 60's....cause im not sure if i want to go down to carlisle
oh yeah and when you go to get that torx bit get t-55, i bought 50 because thats what the manual says, but it was actually the 55

Theres this thing called an "ez out" or at least i think thats what its called..anyhow i used one to get half of a spark plug out of an engine block....something like that may work

Did yours break upon removal? Or is it just a different model? Isn't there anyway you can get get some sealed fittings to replace that GM special fitting? -clint

HA well turns out this is a common problem for most GM motors... so common in fact they mad a special tool for it!!!
AWESOME? no.... doesnt help me much... everyone else i talked to said it worked great... (NY salt sucks...) it kinda just kept making the hole bigger and more difficult to grasp... so i continued to try for 3 hrs.... and am going to do it more later.. im goin to try to make it a bit plyable so i can do the "needle nose pliers and twist" it out thing.
an underneath shot...
and close up of my dilema...

WELL FINALLY progress that makes me HAPPY to post....
well i got angry and decided to remove intake manifold, make hole easier to deal with...(time was 11:53pm) ready to take it off...
off (and DIRTY!)
so i attacked the hole, broke a few screwdrivers... and made alot of progress, gotta rethread hole and get new gasket after class.... after i did what i could w/the hole i was on a binge (i must go to carlisle.) so i decided to clean up the engine bay + intake a bit... Bubbly!

WOW ... 1/2 + 1/2 (i sat there w/a wire brush for a while...)
much better.
i also cleaned in the car a little, not much. took a pic of my syncromesh incase anyone ever wants to see/know what to use (took me FOREVER to find a pic..) and it turned out like a magizine ad... looks cool and was a total accident.
and this setup kept me awake, fed, and kept music playing..... (those are cheese cubes.)

SHE RUNS!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
no one will ever know my amount of happiness, and it will triple when i fix the caliper and bleed the clutch a bit more (which i found a trick way that is definately working.
rethreaded hole.
new adaptor and new intake gasket
coolant hose w/GM qwik disconnect (qwik my ARSE!)
and all back together!!!!! WOOOO!!!!
slight "knocking" not sure if its a knock or not (cause i DID mess with a rocker..) but it also just may be air because i dont have everything hooked up... ill find out later when i get back from work.... SHE RUNS AGAIN!!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!
I used some JB weld, stuck it in the hole, and made a nice handle on the top, and after it hardened, I PB-Blasted it, tapped it, and it turned out....but that tool looks like it would have worked better...
lucky you, i just took mine out on the road for the first time....and POP there goes the rear brake line....now shes cooking in the sun on the side of the street untill the new lines get here.

Are you going to the boneyard for a caliper? Do you know of any 88's in yards? I knew of one but its been crushed, I think I know of an other one but I'll have to confirm it.
