No problem, you guys put on a great show and I love being there.
However, mis-classification and judging anomalies are two of the things that can put a dark cloud over any show. If I were putting on a show I would make it show and shine format to avoid any possibility of that happening.
My car will not be in show winning condition so I'm not too stressed about the categories anyway. I really enjoyed last year when I spent two minutes shining and hours showing.
After judging at Wheatstock (took all freaking day), I would say just give everyone of the attendees a ballot and have them mark their choice for each class by writing in the car number. For the people, by the people as it were. Kind of like a show and shine with a hint of democracy.

We're definitely going to be there! It looks like I'll be able to actually have a fiero there this year. Whoo-hoo I'm gonna check out the hotel arrangements tomorrow morning.
Can't wait. Can't wait. Can't wait. LOL

I may not know alot about cars...but I make a Fiero look good!
Wrecked my car. Not bad, no damage except for the paint. It spider webbed and chipped. Reminds me of last year before Daytona, tryng to get the nose painted before the show.

I have not taken the Dragon to the strip yet but Ryan Gick (Darth Fiero) figures that it should run in the 14s.
I took it up to "Run For The Hills" and it was unbelievable. It is incredible fast; the power was there whenever I needed it. I like to run a car in the hills on twisting turning up and down roads more than on the street or track.
Also – Weather report in Florida. We spent the weekend up in St Augustine, and did not need any sweaters or jackets until about 10:00 PM at night. Rough!
Same as opening night in Daytona. Is there a movie theater nearby? I should be able to catch the first show and still be around for the fun Friday night.

That's a nice incentive I never get tired of seeing those pics Maybe the 'girls with fieros gallery' girls who attend could have a photo shoot..? (wishful thinking, maybe next year) Any idea how many 'spots' are left for daytona? Hotel accomodations remaining, spots for cars, etc? I'm strongly considering going My project won't be ready in time, but my car as-is can make it.

Can't wait to go. Making my reservations soon. If all goes well, she'll be meeting me there. Don't know whay she ahngs around someone as ugly as me, but I've learned not to complain about such things. If she's not an incentive to go, I don't know what is.

71 days and counting! Man, it is really getting cold down here - tomorrow's high only 76 - another crappy day in paradise! Are you cleaning those Fieros yet? I understand Clem Flannigan hasn't driven his car since Thanksgiving because he heard the judges are using mirrors this year - no rumor, it's the truth. We may also give points for the best looking/sexiest lady in a Fiero (might be a guy since we have at least one female judge this year), so the guys (maybe gals) are at a disadvantage from the get go. Come on, ladies (men), show these guys (gals) how to prep a Fiero!! It is a great hotel this year, a great parking lot, good wings across the street, and you can even walk to the track - so come on down! Daytona is waiting for you all!

I'm going, but am not really interested in getting my car judged or anything... How exactly does this all work? From what I saw on the daytona website, this isn't just a "fiero only" show? Or is it? If I bring my fiero, where do I park?

I think you will be able to park where ever you want in the fiero field,..your car will only be judged if you drive it up to the judges table or tent at the time of judging. Otherwise your car will be ok just for display.
I too am going the display route, 2006 is not my time to shine.
We are bringing a (non Fiero) couple with us that I hope to convert. How will they get into the show each day? Can we purchace a pre-pass for that? Does the $70 fee get the spouse in if she(he) is in the car? Sorry about these questions, but this will be our 1st trip to the Daytona show.

Questions are good things.
The $70 dollars include a extra person(s) getting into the track. Nomally they figure 4 people per car. With Fieros that gets a little tight. The $70 dollars does not include extra shirts or meals.
For non Fiero owners or drivers - The cars that drive into the track are supposed to be show cars or cars working up to be show cars (works in progress). I have seen non show cars inside - and can understand why. That gets you in all three days.

Okay, so $70 is for up to 4 people? Can I sell the meal ticket or dash plaque to make some of that money back? j/k... (but not really)

I believe you can also park outside the Speedway (the hotel is within walking distance) and just pay the daily rate to enter. My wife did that last year because I forgot to leave her pass at the hotel (oops!). I think it was only $10 for her to walk in on Saturday.
