I don't think it cost 70.00 to get into the speedway to show your car for one day if that is all you may want to do, you need to check there web site for the correct amount. The 70.00 you are talking about is if you attend everything the Fiero Show has to offer for the weekend, which I think is a very good deal. So don't leave your car parked outside the speedway, bring it in and show off all the work you have put into it and enjoy the day that way!

It costs $10 each day to park outside and walk into the Speedway Saturday and Sunday, another $5 if you want to walk inside Friday. To register your vehicle as a show car so you can drive inside the Speedway each day (or any one of the days) costs $25 prior to March 5, and $30 after and at the event. Those tickets must be purchased from the Daytona Racing District. They will allow you to park with the Fieros, but not to participate in the Fiero show, get a shirt, or go to the banquet. The Daytona Racing District website (not related to the Fiero show) is www.daytonabeachcarshows.com You are not allowed to bring pets to the show. The $70 that our Fiero group charges you includes the $25 entry fee, the Fiero car show entry fee, shirt, and several other goodies - see dragon's show website for all the details http://floridafieros.org/daytona2006/.

This year thereis going to be a poolside Bar-B-Que starting around 6:00 or 7:00
Are we (you) doing the cooking or is the hotel/caterer? By the way everyone, the pool and pool area is HUGE! The pool looked Olympic size (maybe bigger) to me, so I expect there will be a lot of wet Fiero enthusiasts (but no judges) Saturday night.

Why not judges?

If I fly down, does someone have a spare fiero I could rent? I'll be 24 by March, normal rental places want 25+ If I can't find someone else to go with me, I may not be able to go

Just take a taxi to the hotel and you can most likely hook up with someone to get to the track and back

Hey Ladies & Gents.............We are bringing a Fiero virgin couple with us and want to know if anybody will have an open seat to bum a ride into the show area ? We feel like if we try to put 4 adults in 1 Fiero there could be serious injuries resulting, not to mention our sanity coming into question. CAN'T WAIT TO GET THERE !

Mmmmmmmm He said bar-b-que Now you are talking my lingo If the VERT has not broke my bank, I am going to be there. Might even have to bring a work in progress car
Okay, $25 gets me and my car inside. Does it get a passenger inside too?
If a tag along car comes with an additional 2 people, they can just park outside and come in for $10 ea, right?
Yes, $25 gets the car, the driver, and a passenger inside (but no pet)! Yes, the rest of your friends can park outside and walk in for $10 each person each day ($5 on Friday) - that's $20/day for 2 additional people/day (except $10 for 2 people/day on Friday). You folks in central Florida whose brains are obviously freezing over from this cold snap we're having, please look at the websites we have provided for everyone to get info! http://floridafieros.org/daytona2006/ www.daytonabeachcarshows.com

Also meant to tell you that I have brought friends inside the track in the past in "suppport vehicles"- another car or truck or truck and trailer. If they even charge you at all for a suppordt vehicle, the max is $25, with everyone in it - and that covers parking inside the Speedway for all three days! We won't park the "support vehicles" or trailers with the Fieros, but they'll just be a few rows away in the back.

Just a few words here to keep you all updated. We (Frank and Marianna) are working on finalizing an agenda. Things may be different from usual this year, but our objective is to give you 3 days of fun-filled activities that include the car show (not JUST the car show). We (Frank and Marianna) are looking at things like a very special place for breakfast Friday morning, then a run to St Augustine (the oldest city in the USA) followed by a late lunch at the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse Restaurant (really cool - the bar is an old boat - they have pot-belly stoves to keep you warm if it's cold), a Blind Slalom on Friday night (I'm scared, but I'm game), possibly moving the awards to Sunday morning so the pool-side BBQ Saturday night can be relaxing and fun centered before we give out some door prizes and do something else fun like MAYBE subsidized or free prize tickets for (by sponsors) Go-Kart racing (may be) . I know Frank and Marianna are trying to work out details for Saturday nite at the Go-Kart Track, but it is far from firm at this point. Please be patient and give them and our sponsors your support . You can definitely help out for planning purposes.by registering early if you can swing it, so we will have an idea how many folks are coming down. I strongly recommend coming in Thursday night this year so you can get ready for the fun startingf on Friday morning (the Fiero rates are to be honored within 3 days either side of the event - so extend your stay in Florida!). My point is that these kind of events do not happen without a lot of hard work by someone and a lot of planning. So please help us out and register early if you can - it will really make the planning for the event weekend much easier. Thanks very much, and I really hope to see many many of you at Daytona this year. It's going to be a very special weekend you won't want to miss. We don't make money off this - it's all for you. So come on down!!

Just wanted to let you all know that we are going to sacrifice tomorrow and go off in 79 degree weather to Orlando, eat chili, and drink beer to plan the 2006 Daytyona show for you all. Now I don't want o be mean, but come on folks, we are sacrificing here for you all - so its time for you to belly up to the bar and register! -- and plan to get your butts down here for Daytona 2006!! You won't regret it - guaranteed!!
Hey Tom, Why don't you post an official list of attendees and update it regularly ? I know you have all the time in the world to do so.
Frank might be willing to do that, but people have to pre-register first. Every year we see on the forum that lots of folks are coming, but many of them wait until the last couple of weeks to register and Frank has a tough time planning all this out. Anyway, he would be the one to do that. Any comments, Frank?
The following Fiero fanatics have volunteered to judge at Daytona this year.
Mike Freed will judge the engine & engine compartment Marianna Martin will judge the interior Clem Flannigan will judge the paint & body Dave Lambert (Cool Blue) will judge the front and rear compartments Sketch will judge the Wheels and wheel well areas The Chief Judge (Tom Corey) will judge the entire car in the case of tie breakers.
I'm looking for one or two alternate judges, at least one who does not plan to show a car in the modified or custom classes. Any volunteers? I want to be sure all the judges have ample opportunity to view the judging video in advance and discuss any questions they may have. We will have a judges training session/meeting Friday evening during registration. At this point, I don't think an alternate judge will be required to judge more than one class. 58 days and counting!!
