Off topic for this post so sorry but does anyone have any more pictures of that Streetspin car or know where there are some? I did a search with no luck.
As for the photshop work, I like both bumpers as well. Both look good and I am aa bit more partial to the 1st pic but wouldn't it be relatively difficult to get the exhaust that far out on a stock Fiero frame under the custom bumper area? I am moving my exhaust out to stock Fiero postion on my Ferrari wannabe and it is pretty close to the outer edges of the 355 rear bumper and the bumper has more curve to it there. I think you would have interference from the inner wheel wells out there.
My thoughts
Thanks Don
That was a one off custom graphic rendering from Dusty Howlett.. There was another guy that did one similar... He did it for a school project? I do believe... They both look intense. Try searching for "prototype fiero" There are dozens of cool pictures floating around the archives....
I know thats a coupe/formula bumper, but i was just saying what I thought would look good with a modified Aero/GT bumper.
Ahh... Just take Fie Ro's rear bumper and photoshop the middle portion out... Get you the same effect.. His looks like that, just with a little "wing" or "shelf" enlisted in the bumper.. Some good ideas coming out of PFF lately... Nicely done guys!

it was hard to find a relative clear pic of my rearbumper..this one is before paint and other taillights but shows some of the shape of the middle section...
sort of straight shot of the rear after paint
try to reuse/extend/duplicate/respect the original fierolines as much as you can if you want to make it blend...
I prefer a more subtle, yet sporty look. simalar to the 360 modena, or 575 maranello with exhuast ports in the bumper, but now "diffuser" sort of devices.

hey man i definitly like your concepts, any possility it willl happen??? always a lot of good concepts, but the devotion needed is hard to come by, also does anyone remember the huy who had developed a ferrari rear end from europe, and was working with someone here in the states and was going to start producing them????
I have the dedication needed to achieve any or all of these concepts... It is only time I am lacking.
I am a full time student at a state university, I work between 4-6 hours a night doing sub-contractor work, and that barely leaves me with time to eat and get homework done for the next day; and as of 6 months ago, I have a girlfriend who is 4 hours away that I visit on the weekends. Needless to say my fiero time is few and far between. Winter break is coming up soon so I will have 2 weeks in which I could work on these concepts if there was enough interest, and enough spare time because when I have school off I usually work between 8-12 hours a day.
As you can see from my build thread https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/050459.html I am already taking on quite a project, the design work and fabrication isn't any problem because I have over 6 years of drafting and design experience, and just as much experience as a sub-contractor building different things and working with various materials. One of my favorite materials to shape with is drywall mud.
What I need is for there to be a "this is the design I would buy if it was made” point out the flaws, point out what you would change etc... The most wanted design will be created. But, like everyone who attempts to make parts... the community says "I would buy that" and then after the creator has produced it, there is suddenly no one who wants it. Time is money to me, Time is education... I don’t want to waste my time for any reason. I have made numerous parts on the whim that someone would want them only to come to realize no one would pay their worth.
The modified formula rear and the modified Fie Ro rear would be the cheapest to create because they could be made as "glass onto stock parts" pieces rather then a whole new bumper. Even so it would likely be $200-300 for these add-on pieces, as for a bolt on bumper, it would be in the $400-500 range. Now how many of you fiero owners would be able to fork out that kind of cash for these pieces? My guess is very few when it comes to the bottom line. Look at the Carbon Fiber work that KitKar did? He took a massive step to bring Carbon parts to the fiero, only to end up with maybe 2 in 100 interested buyers actually buying them. I don't want to make that kind of investment only to fall flat on my face.
As for the Ferrari concept? That is fairly well out of public reach because you would be looking at a full kit. I doubt many noticed that it is a wide body, this would require extensive side modification as well as structural reinforcement at the rear in order to bring out the back end far enough to fit a mandrel bent 90* exhaust exit directly behind the rear wheels. We are talking in the $2,500-$3,000 rear clip. New deck lid, new 1/4 panels, new rear clip, new mounting hardware, latching mechanisms, tail lights (corvette or replica Ferrari) and new suspension or the need for custom offset wheels (HRE or the like). Now how many fiero owners could right now, write out a check for a $2,500 rear end, and then be able to afford lighting - $200-$500 depending on vette or replica Ferrari, wheels that could cost the upwards or $1000 a rim, custom exhaust system, etc? Maybe 2-3 people, not enough to justify fabrication costs.
Now before I start getting the feedback of "well you said you were going to make this and that years ago" Life throws you some unexpected events, but I do have numerous projects on the back shelf done or near completion but the interest was lost when the community lost interest. Most of these parts I will be using on my own car. It already seems some of the interest is lost in this thread... over 1046 views, and 46 replies... doesn't really make me want to drop what I'm doing to run out and make these parts if there isn’t enough interest to support it.
If the community can come to a specific design, I would gladly take the time to produce it. So the work is in your hands now, tell me what you want.

I agree with you 100% the fiero community has always shown alot of interest but lack of action. I have come to realize that nearly 99% percent of fiero owners bought their car thinking it would be a cheap sprtscar. the reality is it is a Rich Mans, sports car with out the Rich Reputation. The initial investment can be a few hundred dollars, but when you want to beguin repairing, auto shops will charge 2/3's more than most any other car, because of the difficulty. Replacing parts are not easy to find, and are limited, thus price is affected, then you get into upgrading ; look at how much we are charged for any part and compare it to what other car owners pay,( mass production brings down price) I have invested over 20K in mine and have 1/3 of what everyone else in the industry gets for the same investment. Hey man i understand the university thing, i just finished, and was taking 15units spring/fall, and 9units per summer, and working 40hrs, minus the 4hr drive. My suggestion is to keep doing your designs, and just know your not going to have a mass demand in purchases, you can always trade with other people stuck in the same situation with great products. You can archive mine in GFC : FIERO UNVAILING / nightonfire
yeah there it is , thats the rear bumpr, i was talking about, what the Heck ever happened???? any info, although i havealready done mine, ithink it is a good idea and could be done at and affordable price, for FIero owners

I was toying around with some ideas tonight for the rear of my car and spliced together something I think would look sweet on a fiero. Just thought I would throw this out there and see what everyone thought.
Edit - another throw together design
first would look great on a GT, but the second would be the only option for a notchie imo.
Hmm... alot of interesting ideas here. I'm also working on my own custom rear fascia. The concept Is somewhat similar to this one...
... although mine won't have the exhaust tip cutouts. The exhaust will instead vent into the diffusers. And the license plate will be in the stock location.
It's taking a long time, though. I'm a n00b when it comes to fiberglass. So I'm learning as I go... and making lots of mistakes in the process. Maybe sometime within the next few months I'll have a usable fiberglass mold. That's the big hold-up.

Well it looks like a neat idea. If you need any help, don't be shy to ask...

HOW DID YOU GET THIS?? When everything about this bumper was up in the wind an such..... Details, details, details.... Or are you sworn to secrecy, oh wait! You did post a pic.....
I can get that read fascia from Dietmar for about $500 US. The problem I am having is finding a way to ship it. Next week I'll be contacting some shipping companies to see about prices.
edit: Sharkman arranged for the transport himself. I don't know what he paid.

I like this bumper, however I think it would be much much better if the lines lined up a bit more, the exhaust cutout is slightly tipped up. Great work though, hopefully we'll be able to get these in the US
