I wasn't trying to start anything. Phil and Gloria were always good to me. I enjoyed the FOCOA shows the most back when they still had them. At the Silverdome and the Hilton in Pontiac, at Indy. Even the bad ones (under the bridge in the rain that one time). They never did me wrong. I'll admit I never joined their club but I did order and receive several parts from them years ago. I always enjoyed talking to them at the shows. I was just wondering if anyone had heard from them lately as I had not seen anything written about them in a long time.

Keith ocassionally orders a few things from me. I have never had any problems or concerns with Keith. I have talked to him some at past shows. He is like his dad in some ways. Sociable, cheerful and outgoing. Seems to be in good spirits every time I have talked to him. I've never heard anyone say anything bad about Keith.

No one here thinks you were trying to start anything, that's a fact. In fact, I bet many (that are owed money/parts) will be very happy that you did ask the question. I also enjoyed the shows, they were a lot of fun.

Back in December, at the WCF BBQ, I talked to Keith. He said that Phil was putting efforts into starting a President Lincoln museum in Pahrump. He says FOCOA is dead.

Yeah, that FOCOA site was down for quite awhile and now somehow it has been put back up again. Also, noticed how all of the guest book entries are all positive ones though they are very few and are just a few from Nov 1999 up to one from Feb 2000. There is no longer any of the negative entries from many who were ripped off tht started right around March or April of 2000. Anyone that finds that site who doesn't know anything about this could easliy be sending money to them. Phil and Gloria must have some way to avoid mail fraud with where they are now located because you know there sadly has to be unknowing people out there who are finding this web site and sending in for stuff based on the sites info. If Phil and Gloria cared they would make sure that site was taken down, especially if Phil now is admitting FOCOA is dead. DUH! He still owes me money too, though not nearly as much as some poeple. You can add me to the list of ripped off customers.

Don't assume just because he doesn't want to hang Phil out to dry that he's colluding with him in illegal business dealings. We have evidence of people being ripped off by Phil and Gloria and FOCOA. If you have evidence against Keith, I suggest you either share it to drop the subject.

I wasn't going to jump in on this till I saw that the web site is back. I'm going to give my 2cents worth, starting with Keith, I don't know the man and have never talked to him, so my opinions are formed from what I've heard, and it seems that he is an ok kind of person, I wouldn't want to be in his position though, If he does nothing he's helping his parents get away with fraud, if he does something, he's throwing his parents under the buss. this would cause a moral dillema for just about anybody. As for Phil and Gloria, I meet them at Pontiac in 93 seemed like good people, bought parts in the mid 90s and had no problems, having said that, if they continued to take money for parts memberships ect. while knowing that they were closing the doors, that is fraud plain and simple. There's a right way and many wrong ways to close a buissnes, theirs was wrong. Two things bother me about this, First is Keith giving info about his parents and the saying it was in confidence, Second and more concerning is that the web site being back up and all of the negs are gone, This on top of people getting burned, if I was one of their victems and saw that the site was back, I would be highly pissed off and wanting blood. In closing the people in Nevada need to know who their dealing with, and reparations need to be made to the victems. Joe

Fieroparts is right, you are not making much sense. You have who said what mixed up. All I know is I paid for a lifetime membership, I received 1.5 years (6 issues) of the magazine. When I called to find out where my missing issues were, I was called a liar/thief by the woman on the phone (I think it was Gloria but I can't say for sure.) This was back in 1996. After that I avoided doing any business with FOCOA.
The fact that the website is up is interesting. I thought it was closed down. I just sent an Email to Hemmings to see why it is still up. You can also Email them at: clubservices@hemmings.com

I suppose the misunderstanding is in the use of the pronoun "their". Read that to be the people behind FOCOA. Now, I've always understood that the "Fiero Doc" was Keith, who also is a participant on the website in question. One of the promises made on the website soliciting membership is a monthly addressing of different maintenance issues. We all know that absolutely nothing promised in the recent years has been delivered, on a monthly or any other basis. If this isn't Keith's balliwick, so be it. I wasn't implicitly inferring that he was a conspirator in the fraud, but nothing is shocking when the apple falls not far from the tree.

Guys, their website is not "back up again". That Hemmings site is just incredibly old.
If you're not fishing, you need to pull your bait out of the water. If it's not deliberate fraud, it's criminal negligence at the very least to allow that site to remain up and soliciting funds.

I said ten years based on Orief's comment, and apparently1986 Fiero since 1997. I knew it REALLY started coming apart in 2001 when I paid for my membership and received nothing.

Yes it has been close to 10 years when they started to not send out the Quarterly Magazine to "Lifetime" members. It was around late 1996 is when I called to complain about my missing magazines. Then from what I remember it was 2000 - 2001 when they started having problems shipping parts. FOCOA was going down slowly around 2001 and it's just that around early 2003 when the many who got taken started getting together thanks to the internet and car forums. Then the pressure from the large group of complaints forced the cancellation of the 2003 show. Oh wait, I think the "reported" excuse was Phil and Gloria didn't want to fly to the show. BTW ~ What ever happened to FOCOSEVA? Didn't he post around May of 2003 that FOCOA would be around forever? Makes for some amusing reading. If you really want to see how far back it goes, Just do a search in the Archives. There are many posts going back to 2000 that list problems they had back in 1996 and 1997.
