Silver 86/87 fastback GT at a small private dealer's lot in Ottumwa, IA if anyone wants to buy it. I don't know who owns it or anything else about it except: Missing shifter console and maybe other small parts, has what look like *very* nice original seats (gray interior), has power windows and power mirrors. PM me if you're interested and I can try to find out more about it.
Wow there are a lot of silver ones out there. very nice. Any others?
Actually, when it come to the color "silver" not many have changed. Some will either change over to a different color like red, blue ect..... As in my case, I used the 2002 BMW silver vs the stock silver. Is there a difference between new and old? Yes. But it isn't so noticable that ones jaw hits the floor unless it's some type of pearl. IMO the use of silver is either, "you don't want to stand out (coolness, quietness) or it denotes "newnest" (use to in old car commercials) or you don't want to deal with road dirt, hehe.

madcurl - Yeah that makes since to me. Is the price different a lot between BMW silver or stock silver?
Does anyone have a silver pearl color? that i would be interested to see?
Actually no. The cost for me was about the same. I drive my cars so having a really nice paint isn't practical for me. I've seen the silver pearl paint job and they too look really nice but, once again we're talking about big money paint jobs. Like I said, silver paint jobs are usually found on new car commercials (used to) because of it's uniform look and newness. At various car premier car shows you might still see a few that painted silver or in some cases...pearl silver.
I think that most car companies have moved on to other shades of gray, titanium, gun metal ect.... Give it a few more years, all colors have a cycle.
Old style? It might be a slight different color but who knows ,hehe
Newer style but still it's in the range of being silver-ish

Here's my '87 GT in front of an overlook near our home. Click for a larger version. The paint is in rough shape, so I plan on getting it painted sometime soon, probably a blue metallic of some sort.
