Well my wiring harness has been ordered. I have everything ready to install into the car once the harness gets here. Have to send Rockcrawl my ECM to get reprogrammed. I'll put up some more pics later today. I am getting excited!

I spoke with Jim and my harness should be here Monday or Tuesday. Reason I havent installed the cradle is because of the harness. Its much easier to route the wiring and secure it with the drivetrain out of the car. Looks much cleaner that way. Besides, I have to find a way to use all those nice adel clamps and heat resistant wire wrap I have! Here comes some pics....

I originally mounted a tensioner on the left. It wouldnt fit in the car. So I chatted with Ed Parks and Steve, and ended up with this.
I need to find some time to test fit, but I'm fairly sure it will clear everything. -john
John looks good! I wonder if that idler is going to clear the hinge mount and firewall? Its gonna be close. I "think" you need to move it toward the trunk about 1 inch. Let me know.
I test fit, and the location looks good. Plenty of room to the firewall, but I may have to move some wires/hoses to be safe.
I am really close to the battery tray. So much, that I had to take the pully and tensioner off to get the engine in the car. Once it's in, I have 1/4 inch between the belt and the tray. It's not a huge problem for me to move the engine towards the driver side 1/2 inch - so I'll do that next. reattach the pully/tensioner, and snap some pics.

Well after a 1 week break I got back on my swap. After returning from my trip I had a box waiting for me. What was it? One of the last things I needed, my harness! Thanks Jim!
Here are the newest pics, I should have the cradle installed and the car ready to go to the exhaust shop by tuesday.

Got alot done today. Bolted the tq converter to flywheel, mounted starter, finished routing engine wiring, trimmed timing chain cover, made the shifter brackets and finished building the car hoist.
Check out the pics: It works!

Well the drivetrain is in. Thanks BIG TIME to John for coming over to help wrestle the cradle in and give my GF piece of mind knowing I wasnt out there to get smashed all by myself. Well, here are the pics. There are 20 from tonight so I'll just post a few... Bandwidth and all...

do let us know if your 4.9 outruns your WRX since we know you sabotaged Jesse's.
LOL first race will be my 4.9 vrs Jesse's. Since I sent my MEMCAL to Rockcrawl for his 4.9 voodoo and pulled a few tuning "tricks" on my swap.... Jesse is going down like a pwr window on express. Then the WRX is next. Then Garth and his TDC. If there is any car I am going to have to sabatoge its garths 13.3@106 TDC. Good news is since Rockcrawl has my MEMCAL and is turing off the codes I will be able to hook up the SES circut.

Got alot of work done today. Guess what? My fiero is setting on all 4 wheels for the first time in 2003! I ended up getting the coil overs installed for the 88 cradle. What a PITA. Best tool for the job... 1 1/2 hole saw works wonders to clear the hat on the adapter perch. Hooked up my brake lines and e-brake cables. Not sure if I am missing a part though. Seems the is something that I need that ties the 2 cables together inside the cradle rail. Figure that one out tomorrow. Came up with some really cool ways to clean up the install and make it look more factory. I kinda stumbled into a neat way to route the upper coolant hose. Cant believe no one discovered that in the pics. All the vac and coolant hoses are done but I am constantly looking for better ways to route them. Got the ECM mounted with some neat brackets I fabbed up. Still hoping to get the car to the exhaust shop this week b4 I go to NYC. I am concerned about the SLP muffler fitting. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

4 bolts never took so long to install. Coming back for more?
OH YEAH! Gueass I'm hooked. I should call in sick. Thanks for putting my pic in there, proves to the family what I was doing so late at night. Boy, do I look tired! You were right about that strut relocate. You can see in that one pic of you under the car trying to get the passenger side front cradle bolt in. It was so close at that point! Goes to show kicking and screaming (okay, we're men so it was grunting) is an effective resource.
