I have been TOTALLY swamped lately. This weekend is the first time I have had free in quite some time. Hopfully I will be able to powder coat the first set and have some up for sale.

There will be no modifications needed to the car for these to work, it is a total bolt in. I have adjusted the exact shape of the trim ring a few times already to make sure there will be absolutly no clearance issues of rubbing issues when they open. the two lights are a much tighter fit than the origional light was. It seems so simple to do but I have to get the door to open with equil preasure on both side when it is lifting and when it is open. The door actually sits at an angle when part way up. It is about a half inch higher on one side than the other. I had the front trim lip going straight up to support it and did not like the appearance. I have tipped the front edge of the trim back and the look is much better now. It is an optical thing and the new shape is more astheticly pleasing.
I might have some time tonight and then over the weekend and I should be into small scale production. YEA, finally.

Yes, they use the factory motors and the lower half of the bracket. The upper part that the factory headlight mounts to is replaced. Depending on your scrounging ability you can do the total conversion for about $150. $95 for the kit, $20 for the driving lights on sale at Harbor freight and about $25 or so for the used Bonniville low beams with adjusters.
I am currently waiting on the CNC part to be cut for the last part of the bracket. When I get it back I will produce the first run of these. I will send out a few to make sure there are no fit problems on other peoples cars (all cars are not the exact same shape, there are variations). After I am poitive that everything is good I will produce a number of them and breath a sigh of relief: One project out of the way!!!

I don't think that small blue light suits the headlights at all. I also don't like the fact they don't retract. I dunno, makes it look like your headlight relay is broken
I'll buy one of Electrathon's well before I ever buy the ones off e-bay

what do you guys think about this light mod? I'm debating whether I should go for it or not. I really like it though.....
that blue light is alll wrong - but could easily be replaced with a clear small square driving beam light.. the profile is right but it would probably have to mount to the headlight doors to allow it to go up and down

I was just looking at these the other day. We ran into a snag when the program got erased but it is all but fixed. I promise to get them finished soon. I want to finish them on my car too.

I have not been bumping this because I have hit so many obsticles along the way.
I have a new person that has redrawn the parts in cad (couldn't get the last guy to finish it) and as of Saturday there were a couple small changes needed. After they are done, it is off to the laser cutter and then it is back in my control. I stopped holding my breath, but I can at least see the finish line again.

Unfortionatly there are no legal lights that are slim and narrow enough to do that. The pic is a photoshop. This is the closest I have found Is the one legal light and a driving light next to it.
It looks better with the trim ring in place, the pic was taken with just the lights mounted. The trim ring is the key to it looking factory.

Maybe, maybe, maybe very soon! I should be test fitting the latest cut ones this weekend. If they are correct then they are off to the laser cutter, then powder coat them and they will be ready. This has been a long and frusterating process, but they are SO CLOSE!

This is still moving forward, just slowly. The garage fire didn't help either, but they are almost ready. We have been having trouble with the fit of the trim bezel. All of the prototypes are being cut an a plazma table which is far less accurate than the lazer that will be used for the final version. If things work out, they will be ready before the garage is repaired.
