What make's this thread "Official" as opposed to unofficial besides the word in the topic heading?

The fact that this car is being built, and this is the only designated build thread for my project.

Anyone have anything intelligent to add?

I present... "The Reaper" (modified mouth, modified front turn signal area - not used for turn signals, front finned vent, one piece front with projector headlights, functional cowl extraction scoop, wide body starting at the front of the doors, back to a 2" wider rear on each side, a rounded out notchback, relocated gas filler, HHR tail lights, smoothed trim)

I got things lined out a lot better then when I first started this project... The front end pictured a ways above (plastered together front end) has been broken apart and started over so the I could do the process right this time and make a more quality plug.

So there she is...... any thoughts?

I plan on running 17x8 38mm offset in the front... and 18x10 38mm offset in the rear... deep dish anyone?

woahh...i need to change underware...thats sweet!

*bump*

I thought I would give this a bump up to keep this out of the archive...

I know a lot of you have thought that I have given up on a lot of my custom projects... i.e. t-top headliner, side scoops, 1 piece front end etc... But really they have only been set aside... until now.

I went out and bought another fiero a few weeks ago... It’s a decent 85 se with a fastback swap. Now what could I need another fiero for? Well the biggest drawback for my custom parts was the fact that I had to modify my only set of parts on my car... Which I didn’t really want to do not knowing how things would turn out. Now that I have a parts car, I can use some parts off it to replace the stuff I used off my formula... and put the "works in progress" on this parts car.

I will hopefully be getting my fiero on the road here within the next week, and then really get to crackin on some of my custom projects. I have been trying different types of mold releases and PVA films to try and perfect the plug - mold- part process...

So stay tuned... new ideas and products are coming...

Well, after nearly selling my project due to moving and no a/c reasons... My girlfriend (future wife) told me I wasn't allowed to sell it... Great woman....

So, after many months and many thousands, I’m back to working on it and will have it half complete and on the road in 2 weeks...

This was my project for the day, and I know of at least 3-4 people that want to kill me for hacking up a set of Stage 2's... but now I think they fit a notchback much better.... Normal stage 2's look awesome on GT's but I never liked how curvy they appeared on the angled notchback... so I fixed that.

many more projects on the way this week

Are these late model Tiburon headlights? They look great... but they don't look like they will fit the lines of your final concept drawing...

The final hand drawn concept of mine (couple of pictures above) is future, down the road stuff...

[Edit] The Tib headlights won’t be used; I will most likely use Hella projectors like in Norm's new front lift light design... The Tib lights were just a cheap source for projectors that came to mind when I was browsing the net...

I'm graduating from Idaho State University - College of Technology - Automotive Technology here in 4 weeks and will be moving from Pocatello Idaho, 4 hours away to the Nampa/Boise Idaho area where I hope to find work in a Performance shop. (Crosses fingers) This is the biggest step in my life; just out of college, moving away from home, starting my first college experienced job, living with my girlfriend and her family for a month until I can make sure I have steady income to provide for the 2 of us, etc...... So there has been a lot going on lately, a lot of stress...

Right now I am putting the car together with the modded stage 2's, a deck scoop, and a cowl hood scoop... rattle can primer it, and driving it until I can get on my feet... then the true "Reaper" project begins. After dumping over $10,000 into this car, I couldn't stand to leave it sit like it has for the last 2 years... I want to get it on the road and enjoy it for once.

Now, I know the first thought... Rattle can primer? Are you stupid? Well, yes and no.... Since I don’t have, and wont have the money for a paint job in the next 6 months - year, I just want all the body panels to match. I cant justify spending $300-400+ on true automotive primer + gun, because it will be exposed to the elements for several months and would have to be sanded off anyways to get a good uncontaminated primer coat when it comes time to actually paint it... so why spend hundreds when I can rattle can it for $50?

The goal right now is to just get it looking and functioning decent, so that I can drive it until I can get out on my feet. Then the fun begins...

I'm only 20; I have 2 years of web design, 8 years of Drafting and electromechanical drafting and design including 3d graphics work, and over a year of Auto mechanics... not to mention welding, fiber glassing, art, etc.... I can design and build anything I put my mind to, just a matter of time and money.

I know its going to be very tough for a while, even worse then it has been... But I will make it; I will succeed in the things I dream... I never give up... even if my mind wants me to (previous sale attempts) but my heart won't let me. This project will continue...

Don't worry....tweeking someone else's mods is a good thing. What the size of the opening?

You can buy a gallon of high-fill for $100. Just use a foam roller to put it on thick. You'll have to sand it anyway, but not have to take every bit of it off. I've sanded rattle can primer off a car.... not fun at all.

Boise is closer, right? I hope to have mine primered up within a month. Maybe I'll jam up there and see what you're up to.
