Definitely... Bright Red is probably #1, Darker Red (Burgundy) is probably #2. Then when it comes to repaints, I'm sure Yellow is probably pretty high on the list.

lol, my family's got 4 white pontiacs, one is a fiero. I like white or black because it shows the real car and its lines, people don't just look at the color. Thats why ricer cars are yellow.

When it comes right down to it I think the color should be based on the car and driver. Red is classic muscle car, yellow exotic, black sleeper. All the others are just colors. No car should EVER be painted any shade of oragne, lol. Black is nice because it hides everything. But I think the best looking color on Fieros would have to be yellow, then red. Blue is kinda cool too.

Back to the subject, theres a page with all the actual numbers but heres what I remember
Bright red is the most common, the majority of 84's (which were over 100K total) were bright red, most others were white
Burgandy was only avail 87-88
Silver prolly goes about here
black I dunno but prolly here
Blue was only avail 87
Yellow only in 88
Never were produced in green orange, purple

That should be about right.

From the factory, 47% (correction - 35%) of all Fieros - all years, all models - were Bright Red.
(NOTE - correction further downthread)

Not sure what the highest percentage of aftermarket color is. I know mine will eventually be Ferrari Giallo Modena yellow.

I'd have to agree with Jake here on that one....I didn't know I wanted one until I saw the baby I just picked up. There's just something exotic about a yellow fiero.

Ahh.. touche'
Guess when I thought of orange cars the first things that poped into my mind were a couple of ungodly ugly and stupid civics Ive seen around here. Black is nice because it hides dirt, scratches and dents. You cant see the shadows of a dent on a black car like you can a lighter color, also paint imperfections dont show as much.

Bought my first Fiero direct from the factory in 1986. Of course I got red. Nobody even asked. It was just a given. When the subject came up some months later at the lunch table, I said "what? You mean they made fieros in other colors?"

I personally enjoyed propogating the myth that the color was molded in, like Lego blocks.

Definetly red. My '88 GT is the factory medium red metallic (burgundy?), while my '86 SE is white, painted like an Indy.

Do you have the percent for white? Honestly since the red sort of merged to the med red metallic in later years white would have been my guess.

Next time it'll be that Lamborghini's version.

Red is for sure the most popular, stock or repaint.

Mine used to be black but is now orange!

Looks a bit red in the side view but the rear shot is the correct shade.

I'd have to look it up and add it together... BTW, the 47% doesn't include burgundy/medium red metallic - the 47% is ALL just the GM 'Bright Red' color. That's one BIG reason why I want to change mine. The only Fieros I've owned and driven have all been Bright Red, and that's 15 years and over a quarter-million miles... long overdue for a change.

Sounds interesting, have any pics?

I'm probably going to get mine repainted Silver, but I kind of want something a little different than just the stock silver paint. Any suggestions?

My top three choices for the colors of my cars would have been silver, white, and medium red.
My last two choices would have been bright red (ticket magnet color) and black (impossible to keep clean).

Consequently, my two cars are red and black. For now.

I like Blue, Green, or Silver on a fiero. My one has been all three colors out of the three blue is my favorites. But I see more yellow and red fieros. That is why I couldnt bring myself to painting mine yellow. No offense to you yellow guys i just dont like being like nearly everyone else.

LoL. sorry bout that, I meant to say that most of the 4 door sedans that people think are cool (HA) like civics and Lancers *muffled laugh* are brightly colored with either yellow, lime green or some other color like that to distract you from there true bread box look. When its on a Fiero, any color will look good (speaking of, have you seen that brown fiero? pretty sweet, like chocolate). And its true, "everyone wants a yellow Fiero, they just don't know it yet"

i like the basics. red is a standby. white and black if kept clean are great. silver and yellow always make a car look faster. i usually don't like blue but Gene in out KCFOG club has an 87 blue fastback that is beautiful. it really depends on what you like.

bty black is the hadest to keep clean. white isn't too bad but it can become "stained" if you don't keep it clean all the time. best colors that i've found to hide dirt are silver/grey and gold/champaign.

Silver makes a car look faster ? Okayyyyyyy. If you say so. Personally I think silver is dead boring. Even on a fiero it makes the car look like almost every other car on the road. Just count the number of silver civics in your neighborhood. Black, red and blue are my favorites. Gold looks good too. Or if you want to be like 90 % of all the repaints I see you could go for yellow I suppose.

I know there will be at least two custom fieros at Daytona with actual Orange lamborghini paint.

Neither is mine.
