Another update. When you register for the show and purchase a shirt, we are sending out your show shirt ahead of time, that way you can wear and enjoy it before, during and after the show. If you are interested, you can also just purchase a shirt. Shirts are $20.00 each for M, L, & XL. XXL are $23.00 each.
The shirts are 100 % cotton Jeerzees brand golf shitrs with the club logo and show name embroidered on them. They are very nice quality. I have included a couple of pictures.
Information for ordering shirts or registering for the show can be found at the "events" link at www.michiganfieroclub.com click on the "show registration" link under "Fieros at the Hall." The registration form can be used as a show form or a shirt order form. The address to order the shirts is on the form.

Bummer that you can not come, but I do understand. Thank you very much for giving us some promotion to the Montreal folks. It would be great to get some more French Canadians at our show. We had a nice size group of folks from the greater Toronto area show up last year, and we hope they all can make it again for 2006

Wow! This is a great local event! I noticed by reading most of the posts, there are many owners from the East Michigan area. Are there any Fiero mechanics or specialty garages in the Detroit area? I recently purchased a 1985 rebodied GT and I would prefer to take my car to someone who is more in tune with Fieros/rebodies for service and upgrades rather than the neighborhood "all cars are basically the same" mechanic. I was referred to this forum via your excellent relationship with the kitcar.ca forum. If there are no specialty garages, are there any local members who would be willing to charge for their expertise? It seems that many of the owners do their own work. Thank you very much!
Welcome to PFF and the world of Fieros. My recommendation for you would be this, check out www.michiganfieroclub.com
We are having our annual club picnic on 6/11/06 at Metro Beach. There will be several of us there. You can pick our brains and get an idea of where to take you care and where to run away from as fast as you can.
For exhaust work there is a Fiero friendly place in Woodhaven, MI called Guardian Car Care. He father owns/owned a Fiero and he is familiar with the car. He has drive on hoists, so no fear of crusing bady panels.
You will also need to take a look at this thread as well and start your planning for 2008!
Just a side not on our Friday cruise. We had some concern of a cruise on Friday with people driving in from long distances. We are going to be cruising a very large park. The park is Hines Park and has miles of 2 lane roads to cruise and many points to pull over and enjoy the park. We are encouraging cruisers to bring chairs and coolers so that those that do not want to take a long cruise can pull off and sit and socialize with other Fiero owners.
We are also up to doing another activity if there is interest, such as go karting or lazer tag or whatever? I know go-karting is always a well liked way to relax amongst us Fieroits, so let me know and I can plan an additional activity.
Thanks,
Mark

Thank you very much Mark for you assistance and encouragement. I look forward to participating in as many events as possible. I'd like to have some minor work, touch ups and tune ups done on my car by a knowledgable mechanic who supports our hobby. This seems like a really great group of fans to be in the company of.
As far as go-karting, there is a Sport Way fun center on Ford Road in Westland that is near I-275. I believe they provide go-karting, putt-putt golf, batting cages and arcade games. Hines Park goes through the area not far from there. Also, another fun activity is Whirlyball (a cross between bumper cars and basketball), there is a facility in Farmington that has two courts and caters to large groups and events.
Thank you once again,
Gino

We now have a host hotel for the event. I have updated my first post to include our new registration form. Our host Hotel is the Comfort Inn Metro Airport. Located in Romulus Michigan, it is a short 15 minute drive to the Automotive Hall of Fame. This will give us a nice opportunity to have a cruise in the morning from the hotel to the show site.
The hotel address is 31800 Wick Road, Romulus, MI 48174. Their telephone number is 734.326.2100. When booking ask for the Michigan Fiero Club group rate. Rooms are $69.95 / Night + tax.

I was just trying to book this online, rather than making an out-of-country call on my cell. To get the group rate, I need to know the "SPECIAL RATE ID" ... could be 8 digits long. Anyone?

Sorry I've not been on here much the last few days. I will call the hotel on Monday and see if we have an online number for the hotel so you can book on your PC.
I just spoke with the hotel. There is no code that I can give you for the internet to get our rate. They said you can do 1 of 2 things.
1.) Call them (I explained the internatonal call thing)
2.) Book online, and when you check in, tell them know you did an online booking, but that you are part of the Fiero group and that you want the discount rate.

Hope to see a large turn out for this event. Even if you, like me, can only make it there for Saturday you've just got to make the effort to come. Being togeeather with everyone as well as being able to see the special cars will make it worth while. I know we all are picking carefully what events we go to this year. Hopefully this will be one of the ones you decide to come to.
15 till we all head out on Friday morning! Was there ever something planned for the Friday night, officially?
Yes, Friday night we will do Dinner, a cruise and Go-Karting!
I will be at the hotel around 3:00 PM. I will have on a white WingNut - MD t-shirt with my signature (see below) on the front and a Pennocks logo on the back. We will leave the hotel at 4:00 PM and drive to Buddy's Pizza in Dearborn for Dinner. During that drive we will go by the show grounds to give everyone a feel for the drive to the show. After the dinner we will cruise Hines Drive, starting in Dearborn, MI. After the cruise, for those interested, we will go to Sport Way go Karts in Garden City, MI.
This should give us a fun Friday evening with multiple activities for everyone to enjoy.
Mark
P.S. If you are interested in doing any of the above activities, make a post here and tell me what you want to do and how many people so I can give each place a final tally.
I just reserved a room at the hotel. Sylvia and I will be there. however, I haven't registered yet. Is there someway we can register online or over the phone?
With less than 2 weeks to go, I don't have much faith in our postal service.

Thanks Mark. My ride is '86 Fastback GT, semi-stock if you need to catagorize it.
For those that are interested, the host hotel still has rooms available with Michigan Fiero Club rates ($69.95)
Hopefully, I will get time to arrange a group from the GTA (greater Toronto Area) and we can caravan down on the Friday morning. Looks like its a 3.5 hour drive from my doorstep in Hamilton.

Can we register online or do we have to do it at the show?
Unfortunately, we do not have online registration for this show, so day of show registration or mail is the only way. I hope to have online registration for future shows.
