Looking forward to it!

On the short trip you tube around a horseshoe bend on the river and then can walk about a 1/4 mile back on a path along highway 306 to the car. For the long trip you start off doing the horseshoe and then continue on downstream to a bridge called fourth crossing and the tubing outfitter picks you up in a van and takes you back to your car. I think we'll just play it by ear and see what happens. Some may elect to just do the short trip and others may continue on.

I don`t know if you have a tube rental place in mind but a guy I work with was just down there this past weekend and he said a place named Rio Raft has changed their policy in that they take you upriver now and you float down to their place instead of going down river to pick you up. I don`t know anything about down there, this is just what he said.

I was going to use Tube Haus because they have the most spacious parking lot. Rio Raft is located downstream at fourth crossing. On their long trip they drop you off at the top of the horseshoe and the short trip they drop you off at the bottom ot the horsewshoe and you float back down to fourth crossing. Their web site shows that they are a dollar tube cheaper for single tubes so I'm going to check further tomorrow for a group rate

Bump from Page 3 to page 1--getting closer. Not forsure what trip the NTFC is going to take but I am game for either one.

We will be renting tubes (not bringing one as some of y'all apparently are). I don't care if we do the short or long trip, I like the idea of just seeing how everyone feels that day...I may be up for a long one now, but when the day comes, a short one may sound a lot better...

see y'all soon!

That's pretty much what I was thinking, I like the idea of the long one... but playing it by ear sounds good.

How bumpy are the cruise route/roads in that area? I accidentally lowered my car a bit too much (didn't compensate for the heavier engine)

Other than that I'm ready and getting more excited by the day.

If you need another set of springs to replace the cut ones, I have an extra set I will swap you for. They are uncut and still stock length.

Thanks for the offer, but I think I should be okay... it's really the cat's fault for being so low, just remind to not park on any grass. Now instead of everyone laughing at my 4x4 Fiero yall can laugh when someone trips over it because they didn't see it sitting on the ground.

Well, I won't be making it this year I just couldn't get the GT together in time. Who knew these things had so many parts?
I hope you all have a blast, and Blake manages to avoid the local law enforcement this year.

Nathan! Sorry you won't be able to make it, but glad you're still around...
Think you'll have an assembled Fiero for the Ruckus maybe?

Life, unfortunately, has decided to see fit that my universe be transplanted from a brown recluse riddled 1929 farm house ( https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Archives/Archive-000003/HTML/20060206-6-033515.html ), to a new home 26 miles southwest of downtown FW. I wish I could make this event, but alas I cannot. I will however, free up some moving/setting up new life time to attend our local club meeting... gotta have my monthly infusion of cantaloupe crack. I might be the only one there....

Y'all have fun and be safe. Watch for 'air bubbles' coming from around revin's tube....

Just sold my solid runner ( '88 yellow Formula) and I'm sure that I can't get my other Fiero ready in time. I need a/c repaired and front end rebuilt to make it safe. I sure wanted to be there driving a Fiero. Maybe for the next get together. Have fun all you Fiero Freaks!

I had to bump this thread up to today. Only one week left. I have been driving my un-air conditioned Fiero in this upper 90 degree heat trying to acclimate (sp.) myself to get ready for this weekend. I`m ready for the drive but I refuse to sleep without ac just to get ready to camp.
I got my trusty fan ready for that.

I reserved tubes at Rio Raft. We'll get a discount with a group of 20 and based on entries we have that many.

Sorry to hear you can't make it Blake but kind of suspected that the new digs were taking up a lot of your free time. I don't even like regular spiders much less brown recluses. I'd be baling too.

I am currently without a drivable Fiero, but I might remedy that this week. If so, I just may try to make this. Can someone please summarize this thread in a couple lines so I don't have to read 7 pages worth? What is the deadline to sign up for this?

Send me an e-mail at sanderson@grandecom.net and I'll send an entry form and other information. I'll take entries right up to the day of the event. I just can't guarantee a tee shirt any more.

The biggest challenge at this late date will be finding a place to stay if you are not camping. The best bet would be the Bunkhaus Lodge where the North Texas crowd is staying. They still show a room for $59 a night.

I appreciate the offer, but it's too late to take off work. As for the Ruckus, It all depends on if I can build me a good new motor in time. That is, unless my plans for the car change (Again)

I figured it would be to late to be able to make it but thought I would offer. Looks like the trip is going to be even better. Should have nice cold A/C by Friday, which will make the trip alot cooler.

MAN o MAN
the car show I was going to be in on the 17th was rained out till next weekend !!!

So that means that I have to deside which one of the events I will go to...hummmmmmmm

Both in San Marcus
both on the same day
hummmm
get a 1st place trophy or hang out with "fieros with a/c" ??????????????
Very tough decision..........

Maybe some don't want to go on the cruise and we can go to a show instead!?!??!!?

It's Nathan Kramer.

And Kevin,
Your willing to drive to Waco for a meeting with 3 Fieros and you are second guessing an event that will have over 20?
Don't be a fool.

A cheesey trophy or free margaritas with your friends, hummmmmmmmmmmm?????????????????

And I talked to the POA president today and her brother scheduled his vacation from New Mexico specifically to see our Fieros. I'd hate to say we were all present but Revin Kevin who is over in San Marcos hanging with a bunch of late model Mudstains.

First place?, man they must not look very close at the cars when judging. You go to the car show and we will go on the cruise. Then when you get your 5th place trophy, you can meet up with us for dinner and tell us how you got beat by a tricked out Honda with a body kit on it.

On the other hand, I am so ready for Friday to be here and for the cruise down there.

Yall know Kevin only wants to go to the show because he knows it'll be the last time he'll have a chance at a trophy. At the end of the summer when my orange car is finally done word of it's beauty will spread through the show circuits so fast no other Fiero will stand a chance. I won't even have to attend, they'll know my car deserves to win and will simply mail all the trophys. Then he's going to start pretending that he doesn't care what his car looks likes and that it was only meant to race, but unfortunetely StePHen will be there to take all those prizes...

Just come on the cruise, we'll accept your car the way it is

Why isn't it Friday yet?

Kevin - I would love to go to the show with you (even though you ain't going, or are you?? Guess it depends on the time of the day that you read this)...but Michael and I won't be leaving Waco until Saturday mid-morning to head down there...now I am just hoping that we get there in time for the cruise.

Damn--Just when I thought the show was going to be Kevinless--and there woule be peace and quiet for once. Well I guess we can all be nice for one more show to Kevin and act like we like him.

Got the A/C going im my car, its not 100% yet, but it keeps me nice and cool and beats the ol 2/60 A/C I was running.

I just relized that from the group coming from the NTFC, we are bringing a hell of a varity of swaps. We will have:

88 GT with 350 SBC/5 speed Getrag
88 Coupe with 3.4 DOHC/60E Auto
88 Coupe Hybrid with 3800SC/65E-HD
86 SE 2.8/4 speed Muncie(Me and Daniel did swap the clutch in it)

This close to the show and no one is posting about it? Am I the only one looking forward to it?
