I was going to post the pictures I took of Tracy Powell's blown 455Olds powered '84 coupe, but there are almost 50 of them and decided it would be easier to put them up on my website and post the link here. So here it is: http://www.fierocountry.us/tracy.html
Engine and transmission came out of an 1967 Oldsmobile Toronado. Modifed of course, with a variable pitch torque converter with 3k stall speed to handle the almost 750hp that the engine puts out. He has wheelie bars for it, so it won't flip over backwards when he mashes the go pedal.
Oh My Freeking Crap!! That is sweet. Wouldn't it be cool if he could build an Indy scoop around that blower and somehow hide it? No telling how many HP he's putting out, but it's certainly a lot.

I have a picture somewhere of a red 86-87 notchie that I saw at the St. Ignious (sp) car show a few yrs back, it had a front mounted bickblock w/ a blower. I cant find the picture or I would scan and post it! If i remember right he told me it was a porsche trans mounted on the cradle w/ a drivshaft running from the crank into the trans. it was a pretty loud too, that and the tubbed rear end. -gary-
i remeber that car from the 20th anniversary show... except it didn't have the blower ontop and it was the origional black paint... but i do remember that same interior and rims vividly

750 horse! Bull, I dont believe it. I wanna see dyno charts. Just cuz its a huge V8 with a massive blower doesnt mean you can just say it has 750 horse. Hah, I bet you're just scared to put it on the dyno cuz it'll only make 300 horse.....
Oh yeah, sweet Fiero btw!

750 horses seems to be a very low estimate for a blown, intercooled, injected 455. A small block can do 750 with a weiand 177. Thats gotta have closer to 900

Well, it was just a thought. I kept the build up photos of that particular trans. It is a THM425, and the chain drive was replaced with the addition of what you see in those two pics: a huge belt drive. I guess the thought was it would be forgiving of the excessive hp & torque. I seem to remember they were building it for a similarly powered Fiero, as well.
Two things you should never skimp on..... Brakes and Parachutes.

That is one rompin', stompin', kick booty mofo...if that pulled up next to me at the light, I'd just say, "After you, sir..." Kinda reminds me of one of Milodon's motors called the Mastodon...
