well man, you better get on it Im racing in an event on the 17th. Everything is coming along great. The new turbo is here, the exhaust is almost fabbed, the engine and tranny are back in, all I have to do is finish the exhaust, bolt up all the parts, and wire it up. Ill have it running by next tuesday/wednesday.

I am just waiting for my wiring harness and passenger side axle to arrive. Once they arrive the car will be running the same day and on the dyno being tuned the following day.

I am not sure what max boost will be. That will be determined by tune and traction.
I am getting ready to swap the Profect B Spec II boost controller out of the Fiero and install my SBC i-D boost controller and i-D Meter to give me more control over boost, such as the amount of boost in gear.
All of the suspension and brakes are new, so it will take me a little time to get those dialed in as well.
I am like a little kid waiting for Santa Clause, running home from work every day to see if there is a package on my door step.

Hey X, if you were to start over now with all the knowledge and experience you've gained in your turbo 3800 Fiero adventures, how low a price tag do you think you could build one up for from start to finish?

Well, Ive spent probably $7000 on parts alone on this setup. Thats not including the parts that ive replaced. Im probably in about $11k with all the broken/parts that didnt work. Thats not to mention the hundreds upon hundreds of hours. But if a person were wanting me to replicate all the stuff on my car for them, with labor and all, your looking probably $15k. And that will get you about 600 hp, and 28 mpg.

update, I got the tranny working very well. I had some initial problems, but its working good now, and this car is actually extremely dangerous now. It literally goes from 40-100 in about 3.5 seconds. I have good brakes again also. I built a system thats really cool. I found a 1 way valve that goes into the power brake booster that has 3 vacuum ports on it. I plugged one of them, and one source comes from the engine vacuum, and one from a pump that turns on when I touch the brake pedal. The pump supplies 20"hg of vacuum. What this does is when the car makes boost at the line, I dont lose my brake hold, as the pump takes over when the engine is no longer providing vacuum. I can make about 4 psi at the line now. Actually stock fiero brakes arent bad when you have 2 vacuum systems. haha.
Anyway, there is an import race event this saturday at wichita international raceway. I will be there with the car and will be shattering all records. If anyone wants to make the trek, its $5 to get in the gate. Gates open at 6, elims start at 9. Its quik 16 racing, heads up .400 pro tree. $400 payout for first place. Im in the rwd/awd class, there is also bike classes, and an fwd class. If anyone wants to see fiero history in the making, come on out. PM me and ill send you my number and give me a call when you come out.
Ryan interesting reading. Perhaps we could meet on an episode of "Pinks". I just bought Don's Aldino and know what his improvements are now compared to when he ran his best time. I do sponser a few track cars and have a team. Only problem is I am not sure I want to put the amount of money that Don's car cost me on the line. Again interesting reading on your mods. I must admit talking with Intense the turbo if properly set up should take a similar equipped SC 3800. Take care and good luck it will be interesting to see your latest time slips. I'll post some time slips from Atco when I get Don's car (mid july delivery) after it is tuned on the dyno. Take care. Bill

Man I cant belive he sold his car but then again, eveything is for sale for the right price. Just a heads up if you dont already know--Intense Sucks and most of there products do too. I would stay away from them as far as possible.

well right now its raining its ass off here. They are calling a 60% chance of rain tomorrow morning, and 40% for the rest of the day. Lets just hope it passes and stays away, because right now its really cool outside, and if the cold front stays, Ill have excellent air. I got the radials put on today, and aligned the rear. Got a few gallons of VP 103, and shes ready to go. If I had to make an educated guesstimate, I would say 10.70@130 mph. 1.65 60'. Thats my offical guess and Im sticking to it.
aa2uk, congrats on the purchase. I wouldnt race my car on pinks though. cause with my car you never know when your going to break an axle or something of that nature. Im always down for a $100 race though. We need a big fiero event like wheatstock to happen again. That was alot of fun.

Ive gotten so envious that i started bidding on a complete sbc turbo kit on ebay. and i still have not finished the swap i still need a water pump fuel pump and altinator. good luck on your runs. watch them headlight doors! is that thing doing wheel stands?
I tape the headlight doors down before I run. They come up at about 110 and it usually scares me pretty good. No it wont wheelstand. It just launches and goes. Upward motion is wasted potential forward motion

Ive broken two set while the 3800 was in. those guys on hwy 100 in milwaukee dont give up till the speedos barried. Fierobrian is running my swap now i bet he is getting used to the POP! that occurs. it does make you jump, you never get used to it.
I didn't purchase Don's car because of his track times. I am building a collection of unique Fiero rebodies. I am hoping to eventually display them in South Jersey near Atlantic City. Take care. Bill

Nope, didnt go down. My incredible Intense stall converter decided to take a dump. On the first pass I ran a 11.72 @119 on 14 psi of boost. That was just a shakedown pass, and I qualified 1st in the elims. Next pass I got a bye run because the person I was supposed to race broke, so I went a 20 something, just cruising pretty much. Next run the person I was supposed to race broke also. I get another bye run into the finals. haha. 1st place paid off $400, 2nd paid $100, so I talked to the other driver (1997 toyota supra that Ive seen run 9.60's) and we agreed to split it $250/250. So I ran it again, and spun pretty good but the tranny was shifting good. Ran a 12.60, but the supra broke its torque converter. I would of won the $400, but oh well. I still won a 3 foot tall trophy. Next pass was after the race was over, and the midnight drags were starting. It went 11.83 @ 113 and I broke my converter at about the 1000 foot mark. I somehow limped it home, but it shutters really bad through 1st gear. It wont lockup anymore either. So pretty much if I would of run balls out on the first pass 1 of 2 things would of happened. #1 I would of gone really fast and broke the record. #2, broke the converter early and not won $250. So i kinda played it safe to win the money, but in the long run didnt set any records. So tomorrow im starting a new project for a guy, putting a turbo setup on an eclipse, and those proceeds will fun a zzp torque converter . Ill be back.

This wouldnt happen to be the Pro Torque convertors they used to sell. They was many problem with and many ppl got screwed using them. I am running a 3000 PT now but hopefully I got a good one. Good run, was hopeing you would hit the 10s but theres always next time.

Not sure what kind of converter it is, but I bought it about 2 years ago. It only has about 1000 miles on it, if that. What a piece of crap. Anybody hear anything good about the yank converters? Or is it just best to go with the ZZP?

I have heard good praise for Yank. They don't bend the fins on used converters to make stall converters... IIRC they have some former GM powertrain engineers. Give them a call to tell them what you have.

yeah keep laughing. Lets see you go run 11.72 and drive it home. Keep being a turd burgular.
Hey i got a cool idea, lets hammer Formula88's green bar. Lets make it blink red. Ready, set, go.
Cool. A "rate me" thread.
You know what, I don't have a car that can run an 11 second quarter mile. You know what else? I haven't been talking smack to everyone that I do, either.

Knock off your childish behavior, What FieroX is doing is something to be proud of. and he is making progress towards his goal and not giving up. Man didnt walk on the moon the first time they tried but it still happend. and most of us beleave that he will make it happen soon. no one is laughing with you so either get your act together or leave this mature forum to rot with the rest of the troll's.

That was about the time the issue was around with the Power Torque stalls that Ontense was selling. Havent heard anything bad about ZZP stalls or anything period about Yank. I would say go with ZZP being they are so easy to deal with.

I had a good time watching the drags, but could only stay to watch your first run.(kids are kind of like a ticking time bomb) Thanks for making me feel at home with you and your friends.
