You should all be careful against those ricers, i went to the track not to long ago and saw an old CRX "Wax" and dodge viper and i do mean wax, by like 3 full seconds in the quarter mile, so just because it burns rice does not mean its not fast.

He told me he's $30k into the car. It's got a cam don't know what kind or specs (lopes real nice), it's stroked, some kind of fancy ford intake, big rubber on the back wheels and couple other things. The guy will never tell me what it runs at the track but it's no stocker. This is not a kid either he's a 40 year old rich black guy.
Oh and the 1/8 mile thing was a joke, from an import owner you never know.
$30k ? That must include the initial $25k+ purchase price or something. Hell, Manny's 4.6 stroker runs 5.36@132mph in the 1/8th, and 8.18@174 mph in the 1/4. Old Bill and Dan both have Mach 1's with stock motors, Bill has run 6.7's in the 1/8th, and 10's in the 1/4, Dan is shooting for 6.8's this week. Both are running nitrous. Dan makes 540 rwhp on spray. Bill probably makes the same. Manny's street car makes 800+, and his race car makes 1200+. Those are 'heavily modified'.
To give you a reference point, a 13.0 in the 1/4 roughly translates to 8.3 in the 1/8th.
Blake-you're saying Jscott is going to be there? I'd like to see that dash swap in person .

The theater sound is transmitted on 88.1 FM, according to this. There are some pics in that link, too.
JohnF mentioned bringing FSR radios for the cruisin', not for the drive-in.
Yes I understood that..... What I was wondering about is, will a channel be monitored on the short cruise from the hotel to the show location or during the car show on Sat am & pm. Maybe to guide in some lost out of towners like me . Doesn't really matter though, I can find it. I won't be able to stay for the cruise to the drive-in though..
I'm still running with your ignition module, but that wasn't the source of the problem...my CAT was plugged. The new master cylinder should arrive tomorrow and if that fixes it then I'm golden, if not then I'll be in my truck.
Gravity bleed that sucker, used this method for the first time the other day and it worked great.
I swore it was the slave cylinder that was bad, and replaced it and bled that sucker like Count Dracula and could not get any pressure at all. So I'm replacing the master. If that doesn't fit it, I've got a busted line somewhere and it won't get fixed this week.

On my '88 with the POS second generation master even the gravity method wouldn't work to bleed it and I've tried it more than once. The only thing that has consistently worked is a vacuum pump with a catch jar ahead of it.

Well bad news. I started the car last night with a little carb spray. It started right away untill the carb srpay ran out. I checked the fuel lines and I had nothing. Did several checks and ended up pulling the tank. Turns out I have a big jug of shalack. Now I think I am going to have to replace the fuel tank and pump and sock. So the Fiero wont make it to the Ruckus but I will probably show up anyway.
Any thoughts on fuel tanks?

procarnut I have a couple of gas tanks lying around. If you need one let me know because I got them when I bought my car and they are just taking up space. Mike

Thanks for the offer. Let me know what you want for one. I might be able to salvage this one if it cleans up like it should. I'm about to flush it with acid so I should know something this evening. If it doesn't work I'll give you a call.
Thanks again.

If you need one I`ll let you have it because as I say I got a bunch of parts for my car when I bought it and I`ll probably never use them all. Mike mscman@earthlink.net

I had this happen. Started out with hot water and TSP detergent and then put a gallon of lacquer thinner in it for a couple of days and sloshed it around occasionally.

I finally made some time this weekend to see if I could get the Fiero going. If it's not too late, add me (Mike Howard) and my purple '87 GT to the list of cars. I have a couple more things to do to it (get radiator fan working properly and bleed the brakes) before I'll feel comfortable driving it, but it looks like I'll be there on Saturday. The wife and kids will be following me in a chase car to pick me if things go bad.
My vote for a movie is Man of the Year. Robin Williams for President!
Hey Where did you come from?
See ya Sat!

Just remember those cars you see in the movies generally don't look as nice in person.
Thats true, pictures make a car look 65% better than what they really do, takes out all the blimishes and bad work. Dont know how many cars I have seen in pictures, then see the car in person and your like WOW--In person you see all the cracks in the body work, overspray that didnt get cleaned up, ect. Same way with anything in a picture though, for those who have been house shopping, a good example.

Ha, I'm well aware that cars don't always look the same in pics as in person. I admire the amount of work that you put into the dash, I think its really neat. I removed the antenna on my mustang's fender with fiberglass, looks 10x better without the antenna, but that was just simple work. I'm trying to finish some little stuff on my car like -functional e-brake- but its looking like I should be able to swing by saturday. Hopefully I'll make it Major props to you btw .

The awards were not cheap...but if anyone wants one that doesn't win one we can talk after the RRR. The company that made them is well aware of copyright issues and, like my company, tries to avoid any conflicts...but they are happy with how they turned out, as am I...the pictures really do not do these things any justice...unlike cars, these look better in person.
Shirts hopefully arrive today...will post pics of them once I get them....Cliff - you will be happy with yours.
Goddie Bags will be finished tomorrow....
Can't wait for Friday night at George's, this will hopefully start off fun there.

Tim, another thanks for your work. I was wondering. How can we as a group express our thanks to the sponsers? Not being local, we can not patronize their establishments.
Scott I will check if I have a radiator. I don`t remember seeing one although there are a couple of larger boxes in my storage building that could have a radiator. Mike

hmmmmmmm.......How can we as a group express our thanks to the sponsers? Not being local, we can not patronize their establishments?" good question.
I allowed my company do spend more than I would on other events...but that's b/c I wanted to. Take a look at our website and see if there is any home movie or film transfer work that we can do. www.kre8itvideo.com (site is being re-done, so if there are problems with it, please ignore them)
Bankstons Cards & Comics has a sister shop down in Austin called "Austin Books" located at 51st & Lamar. The Waco store is "the place" to go for some awesome sports memoribilia, the Austin store is much more comics related.
The Home Repair company...well...I won't worry too much about them.
The Drive - In...come as often as you like, that is what they would want.
The Sports Hall of Fame...just tell people about it.
Dr. Pepper...well...duh, drink it.
The City of Gatesville has donated some nice stuff for the goodie bags...just stop and eat here or something if you are ever passing through (and come see me)
George's Bar...well, I have no doubt that there will be ample chances to thank them...this may become a place you want to stop at anytime you are driving on I-35 for a quick bite or drink.
There are other sponsors who have helped, including Firestone, Frito-Lay, Central Texas Martial Arts, Blazin Technology Computer Repair, Ridata, Primera, Laerdal Medical, Baylor Sports Marketing, Extraco Banks, Vogue Dry Cleaners, and Panasonic that have donated money without asking for anything in return.
This will hopefully be a fun weekend...still trying to make a few more things happen.
Forecast for the weekend for now (this may change in the next few hours): Friday: High 72, Low 44 ; Saturday High 75, Low 50 (20% chance of rain late) ; Sunday High 77, Low 52 (30% chance of rain late).
