Darn ya'll cut the kid some slack on his 1st big Fiero hosting event ! Let him show US ..Waco through his eyes. Maybe not do every thing THIS TIME, save it for NEXT TIME but TN...oh yeah.... and DP...
This hosting thing can get hairy at times. Don't over do it. Just try for what you can, without trying to out do Heidi and I
Cheap prices are real nice nice picture places nice road for a drive [no cops..right Blake?] food car stuff girl stuff Amber stuff
I dont give a shitz what we do, just give me the dates and times and I will be there. All the things listed for the events seems fine to me, for those that dont have interest in some of the events, it might be a learning experinace. For me, as long as theres food, a short show/shine, a cruise, some food and ppl, I am good. Doing a good job on getting things together CenTex at short notice, keep up the good job.
Wow, I just read this post and I am up for the Ruckus. I just got back from a week at Colorado Springs and the whole time up there I only saw one Fiero. I just wished we had the weather right now that they are having up there. Only about a high of maybe 85 although it started sleeting when we were up on Pike`s Peak. Looking forward to Ruckus and hope to see some of the SA gang from 9.5 there.

The dates are definite: Friday, October 13, Saturday, October 14, and Sunday, October 15.
CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE BY REQUEST (and some by logic )
Friday night: Meet and greet at George's Bar in Waco http://www.georgesrestaurant.com (working on having food paid for - but more than likely beer will need to be paid for by us)
Camping at Lake Waco or Hotels
This has been changed from Saturday to Friday so that those who have to drive farther than others do not have to miss the showing of the cars at the Drive-In.
Saturday morning: Breakfast (again, working on having it provided) and wash and shine Possible short cruise route (depends on how long breakfast and washing takes)
Saturday afternoon: (Starting at noon) Show the cars at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame http://www.tshof.org This is a really nice location for the show. As mentioned before, the museum will provide 1 Free Pass for each family (for those interested in going in and viewing some nice exhibits).
Tours for those interested in the Dr. Pepper Museum, Texas Ranger Museum, or Mayborn Center.
4:00 - Quick drive to location for the Fiero Softball game (yup, it's gonna involve the cars...this should be fun and I have been told by some of the locals that they plan on showing up to watch this thing if it works)
Pass out T-shirts and other goodies and other presentations (to be decided)
7:00 (or sometime after dark) - Enjoy the movie (beer barn is just down the street so we can make runs to it to make sure everyone has enough)
Saturday night (after movies) - Camping available (we can set up before the movies) or Hotels
Sunday Morning - Breakfast and cruise route then head home for those that are still around.
Sunday Afternoon - if anyone wants to stick around I will gladly open my game room for anyone who wants to play some pool.
---------------For those wondering about the trip tp Uncle Ted's - that has been postponed to make way for a MUCH better time there (overnight camping?) and will be open to those interested in it later in the year or in the Spring - LOTS of interest by Ted in this, and after speaking with him, he wants to be more involved and wants to be able to do some things that will take more than the time that would be able to be alloted for the RRR. Please be patient with me on this, as Ted has shown a great deal of interest, but I must be patient and cannot run the risk of irritating him. -------
Already invited him, but he is busy that weekend and that is why we have decided to postpone the trip to his ranch for a better (and much longer) time.
Trust me...from the way we were talking yesterday it will be worth the wait.
I've been wanting to come to a Ruckus for years. It seems I just never had the time, or a running Fiero, to allow me to go. That might actually change this year. I've got this on my calendar, so just maybe I will make it.
Also, I have a suggestion for Sunday afternoon. If there is a sports bar or ice house in the area we could meet to grab some lunch and watch the Texans vs Cowboys. A little intrastate rivalry maybe?

I will see what I can do. There is plenty of places like that - Cricket's (which the few that came to the first Heart o' Texas Fiero Owners meeting know about), there is George's, Hooters, and about a dozen other places. I will leave that up mainly to whoever is still around.

Everything sounds good to me, will get some time off so I dont have to work that weekend. Hopefully will have my 88 GT swap complete with the 5 speed/3800SC and maybe even some new paint on it but will see.

I will be getting more info on the Waco hotels by the end of the week. I have been told that camping out at Lake Waco will not be a problem for anyone who would like to do that (dealing with the top dog at the Waco Parks dept).
The best hotel in Gatesville (Saturday night after the movie if you don't want to drive back to Waco) is Holiday Inn, but there are a few others. I am in the process of getting the City of Gatesville to let us stay for free at one of our local parks for anyone who would like to camp (normally a fee of $15 applies).
More info on the lodging as it becomes available to me.
The main thing that I wanted to get started was the date for the event and the basic set-up of the events.
Hope everyone is happier with the new set-up. I am trying very hard to make it so that the only thing anyone has to pay for is their gas and beer...getting sponsors together for the food and tickets to the movie and any of the museums that anyone would like to go to, and also getting sponsors together so that we do not have to pay for the t-shirts.
I will be sending PMs to some of y'all for some help in the next 2 - 3 weeks. I am in the process of wrapping up 3 big projects at work and about to start 2 more, so I have gotten this off to a quick start so that I don't have to worry about this much for the next 3 weeks or so.
Man all I can say is if you pull all this off the way you are trying too--THEN YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!!!! Looking forward to the show and putting in for the days off tomorrow so I can be sure to make it with no issues.

I need to get a list of all those who will be attending. About to return some phone calls to some places that have the ability to make this very nice, and I need to begin to give them an idea of how many cars and people will be coming (working REALLY hard on this not costing anyone anything to attend).
Please PM or Email me with your name (or names if you are coming with any family) and the car you are planning on bringing (and if possible a high-res pic of the car - this is for something coming out later).
Thanks,
Tim

Count me in! Sounds Fantastic, and that itenerary looks really good! I also like the idea of hanging out and watching the game on Sunday... that would be a lot of fun.
Can you post your email addy for us for the photo's?
BTW, I appreciate the overatures you made to TN. That is a really cool deal, and next spring sounds promising! Just don't make it mid-April, you're going to be in San Antonio with the rest of us for Round-Up X!
-edit- Uh, excuse me let me add the car. 88 Formula.

I will do my best to make sure that the TN event does not take place during April. I was at RoundUp 9.5 and it was fun, so I should be at X (just depends on work).
I am not sure that I will be hanging out for the game afterwards, but I will make sure that anyone who wants to will know the best places to go.
See the previous post for my email as I have added it.

We're are starting a three week long maintenance shitdown at work on the weekend of 10/14 and regrettably I will not be able to make Ruckus V.
However I would be willing to take on getting tee shirts produced under the following conditions:
-somebody else does the art work (Amber?)
- we get the art work set by 9/15.
- we get money in hand for shirts by 9/30
I'd have the tee shirts done here in Corpus Christi. I volunteer with the local tennis association and we buy a couple of thousand shirts a year. The finished shirts could either be shipped to Tim or brought up by one of the San Antonio Attendees

Sooner or later....moth food

1. Wear them once and throw them away ..You know...like a rock star .....Then use the leftover shirt to wipe the car down
2. Cut the design out and make a quilt out of all of them, pillows out of the little one on the pocket area.... Then use the leftover shirt to wipe the car down
3.Cut the design out....and frame them! ....Then use the leftover shirt to wipe the car down
4. Eat a Hot Dog with mustard, get on your shirt........Then use the leftover shirt to wipe the car down
5. Have a Fiero breakdown away from home with pure clean shirt on.........Then use the leftover shirt to wipe the car down

Personally, I have a very limited clothing budget I like event shirts to round out my wardrobe. But, if no one wants to bother then so be it... I'll just make a cool graphic with my car on it and wear it to the Ruckus and make yall so jealous of my super shirt that you will never think of not having a shirt again. Oh yes, it's evil, but I'll do it.
And the 3.4 will be in the Orange car, once it gets off my bedroom floor...
I would really like shirts. It makes it more of an event to remember. Some of us have not been to that many of these things to get all too many shirts, and like Kevin said wipe down the car if you have too many.
Can't wait till Oct. sounds fun.

Yeah--Shirts are a must for any event and make good formal wear for me when I go out. Not to be picky but can they be made of good shirts that dont shrink 2 sizes when washed the first time. I have many shirts from past events that I get to wear once and then they are to small.

You will either really really be happy with them, or you will hate them with all your heart and soul. Don't think that there will be an in-between on them.... (ooooohhhh....the mystery deepens....)

Please - Need someone from one of the owner groups who is a "top dog" to pm or email me...I need some information badly.
I am very close to wrapping up sponsorships and need some info that only a few of you may be able to give me.
Keep your fingers crossed...it is looking VERY good that Budweiser, Dr. Pepper, Frito-Lay, H-E-B Grocery Stores, and some others are about to come aboard and save us all a LOT of money!!!!
"Goodie Bags" have now been taken care of and I am pretty sure that y'all will like 'em!
THANKS!

Kevin - call me as soon as you get a chance (maybe tonite?). This may be something I can take care of on my own, but if I don't need to, I don't want to. Thanks.

You can add my son Bryan as coming with me. Seems he will be on leave at that time, before heading out to Okinawa, and he says he definitely wants to come.
