REPOST (slightly updated) of events:

Friday night: Meet and greet at George's Bar in Waco http://www.georgesrestaurant.com
(working on having food paid for - but more than likely beer will need to be paid for by us, and they will have parking roped off for our cars)
T-shirts passed out.
Figure that I will be there about 6:30 (not that anyone cares when I will be there)

Saturday morning: Breakfast (again, working on having it provided, but it may just be at the hotel) and wash and shine
Possible short cruise route (depends on how long breakfast and washing takes)
--------Anyone interested in me checking with Genie Car Wash to see if I can get us a group discount on the cars, or does everyone prefer to not let anyone else touch their car?

Saturday afternoon: (Starting at noon) Show the cars at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame http://www.tshof.org
The museum will provide 1 Free Pass for each family (for those interested in going in and viewing some nice exhibits).

Tours for those interested in the Dr. Pepper Museum, Texas Ranger Museum, or Mayborn Center. These can be done in the morning or in the afternoon. Dr. Pepper said that they would love to see us, but there will be a fee.

4:00 - Quick drive to location for the Fiero Softball game (yup, it's gonna involve the cars...this should be fun and I have been told by some of the locals that they plan on showing up to watch this thing if it works)
-------This is looking as though it may not happen because the location that was set has been bought by a company that does not seem to want us there.

5:30 - Cruise route to Gatesville for the Drive-In movie http://www.drive-ins.com/detail.php?code=txlast
------------This appears to be about a 70 mile trip. Curves, Trees, and a couple of long straightaways for some of y'all who may want to go a little faster than some of us can.

Show cars and dinner will be provided (local BBQ) - As mentioned earlier, this now appears to be $15 to cover food and admission into the Drive-In, but I am still working on it.

At the Drive-In, people who have come to watch the movie will be given a ballot to vote on the "People's Choice" award for their favorite car, and the award will be given after the movie or at intermission if it is a double-feature.

7:00 (or sometime after dark) - Enjoy the movie (beer barn is just down the street so we can make runs to it to make sure everyone has enough)

Saturday night (after movies) - Looks like most will drive back to Waco

Sunday Morning/Afternoon - if anyone wants to stick around I will gladly open my game room for anyone who wants to play some pool (in Gatesville)

Some have mentioned watching the Cowboys at one of the local restaurants.

it's only 35 miles going back to waco after the movie. the straight trip is aboring drive. went to find some more exciting driving roads, but I can change this if the majority of everyone attending wants to. the distance between waco and the drive-in is approx 35 miles. i can find plenty of cruise routes around the waco area, but we still have to drive to the theatre, so i thought this would be the best bet.

let me hear everyone's opinion on this. there is still plenty of time for me to make changes like this.

EDIT TO TYPE: I am not sure of the exact distance for the cruise route b/c many different ideas were tried.

Sorry I havn't talked lately.... I've been working overtime to get mine running. I am planning on being there! If I can't drive the Fiero by then I'll find something to drive. I will have to pass on the hotel room and drive everyday from home. At least it wont be too far to drive too.

Later....

Glad you'll be able to make it Bob, hope work on the car comes along well.

If everyone wants to do 70 miles, I won't complain it just shocked me a little considering I live 70 miles from there

We're running campaigns for people's choice? How about this beauty?

Sometimes there are 200 - 300 people who show up for the movie. If you're buying drinks for votes...well...I know a LOT of people who would come and vote!

I hope so, I'm driving one that is cracked, scratched, faded, peeling, cheap seat covers and a duke with auto trans! Haven't had the time or money to do any serious upgrades other than the headliner. I'm coming to see the other cars and people....

Yes they are allowed, there are some of us that actually drive our Fieros daily and not just leave them parked in the garage till the weekend. I will be there in my flat black primer/faded white 88 Coupe that will probally not win any awards.

Most definitely so. Mine is all stock and can use paint. Some of those posted, most of those posted, have shown up before not looking like they do now. We are all coming to see the other cars and meet the people. It will be fun.
Looking forward to seeing y'all.

When I first got mine I wouldn't even bring it to a regular meeting because I was ashamed of how bad it looked, and even now it only looks good in pictures To me these things are only 55% about the cars, it's about the people and the great excuse for a vacation.

Don't talk too bad about those 4 cylinder automatics, mine spent 18 years and 157,890 miles of it's life that way

Yeah I like the lying contest... I smoked a twin turbo, stroked and bored, juiced v10 1/2, yellow Viper today but I backed off at 260mph just to be safe, don't want to kill my car before the Ruckus.

hmmmm.... a lying contest....don't we just call that "talking" here in Texas?

I am looking forward to seeing all kinds of Fieros at the RRR. My Indy is an almost Daily Driver, and I know others who drive em all the time. Trailer Queens are nice...but the FUN part of having a Fiero is DRIVING it.
