I know that buffets around town often set aside a small area for clubs, if they call ahead. The Indiana vette club used to meet down at one in Columbus ( or at least I saw a plaque for it on the wall.. ) And as long as everyone is eating they would love the business
That would be Sirloin Stockade on National Rd. (US 31) I can't see restaurants having any problem with a group of people regularly showing up and spending money. Especially if the presence of those regulars draws more in with flashy cars....

Mostly joking about the circle photo shoot, no matter how cool it would be You're probably right about the speedway being more ... accommodating, something about this model being a pace car there once...

"Install the engine" works too I was also thinking like installing headers, Trueleo intakes, turbos....pretty much anything involving a wrench. I am going to have some downtime while my headers are at the coaters, maybe I can come help out, I'm pretty handy myself when it comes to these cars (at least the V6's). I would say bring it down to me (nice farm shop's worth of tools) but that would be kinda hard given the nature of the work to be done eh?

I plan to go to a lot of shows once my Fiero is done, so I can represent the area along with willing participants.
Spring would kick off the event schedule, and we'd have get-togethers on each side of town to be fair to all. Plus, Spring is when I project to have my dream car show ready.
All in favor, post "Aye!"

^^Aye
I was thinking of volunteering myself if this took off, but I'm also with the crowd of "wait and see" if a group regularly likes to get together. Although it always seems to help to have a facilitator.

E-mail me your info Fiero(s) you have, their working/non-working status, best days/times to meet (with willing distance to drive along with your address so I can send driving directions via e-mail to those willing to meet). And any additional info you would like to share (places you recommend meeting, contact phone #'s, or whatever you want shared with "The Club").
If any of you have a domain and would want to run the site, let me know. If not, I'll eventually make one with a page bio of each member with his/her car. No personal information will be shared online.
Also e-mail me any other requests that would make for a fun club in/around Indy. We could eventually meet with other groups in town for a good time. I know there is a cool Evo group, among many others.
I'll post a new thread once things get estabolished.
Thanks, Greg FieroGTguy@aol.com

Thank you for everyones contribution and information. Everyone start getting those Fiero's fixed up for some Spring FUN. I'f like to make arrangements for field trips to Norm's, Archie's, and see if we can get some group rates on "Fast Times Indoor Go Karting", Bowling, Texas Hold'em Poker events around town, and any more idea's/hobbies you guys have. Once the info is compiled/organized, we can have smaller get togethers for Fiero repair/modification assistance, or even UFC fights (I always buy those and have plenty of room for 5-10 people). That's why the more info on hobbies, age, etc. would be helpful.
Our first step is naming the group then have a logo designed. The Central Indiana Fiero Club has some active members already, and would like to know what direction we would want to take this. Fiero's exclusive, or Pontiac exclusive, GM exclusive, or drop the exclusive for a more diverse auto enthusiast club. You can respond to those questions via e-mail. Still brainstorming.
Thanks for your time, and this looks like it will be a great success.
Greg

Are you referring to the "Central Indiana Fiero Club" that used to be run by Ron Byrd? That club had basically gone dark (inactive) around two years ago. Both myself and Dan VanArsdale just became too busy to spearhead the club's activities and no one wanted to step up and take the reigns.
I can see if I still have any information on the club.
I'll add more later. I have to run for now.

Apparently, I've tossed everything that had to do with the CIFC, including the last member list. If you're planning on resurrecting that particular club, I'd get in touch with Ron to see if he has anything against it. I can get his email if you need it.
If you're going to build from the ground-up, pick a club name and go from there. I'd say just keep things informal. Group emails and a post on PFF when an activity is coming up.
You'll have my info shortly.
Gary
BTW, nobody has said anything more about when/where we'll be meeting up next. How about Saturday November 4th, 6:00 PM at the southside Hooters? Anyone? Anyone?

I will have my Fiero painted by then but, I have a dance that night, maybe do both I guess. Since it is already sunset at 7pm now, would 5pm be better to see cars?

Hmm...Most likely won't have my Fiero ready by then unfortunately, but I'm willing to show up anyway. Just have to see if I'm going to be in town that weekend.

The e-mails have stopped trickling in. I'll put together the info and send something out this weekend. Who's in for the First Fiero Texas Hold'em Indy get together this Sunday at the Fox + Hound just west of Castleton (86th + Allisonville) on the Northeast side? We can meet @ 5pm, and tourney starts @6pm. There is another one that starts @ 9pm if you like to stay out late, but most of us have work the next day.
Reply in this post if you can make it, or percent chance you can make it for all to see. It should be fun. Oh yeah, and it's FREE!

I need to mail my info in as well; have not been doing much with the Fiero lately but need to get back to it. Probably help if I got the engine done. As for meeting at Hooters I will if I can; we need to find other places to meet/eat however. Preferably someplace with better food; not that anyone goes to Hooters for the food

Lots of places to eat.. I think that hooters was chosen more that its got "munchie food" as well as a bar. instead of just a big dinner ordeal. Personally i dont care where we all go as long as it dont cost 50 bucks a plate
And ya having a working engine is good I just got the engine in my 2nd GT tonight, its not hooked up yet but its in *finally*.. And no broken bones ( wife got her arm caught under the engine as it was being lowerd.. thankfully nothing broke or damaged. just an angry wife with a slightly sore arm, looks like ill be bringing home dinner for a few days:|)

Any confirmations to play today? There are usually 30-50 that play. I guess there won't be a great turnout this time, so send a post if there's anywhere else you'd like to meet, eat, or play.
I'm looking forward to see everyone saturday at Hooter! My car isn't a nice as everyone but I have fun with it. Bill
Its nicer then my Blue 87 GT, which needs some body work and a repaint back to orginal blue.. But its almost running again It will be nice to have both GT's moving under their own power.
So when are we all meeting, and where? I keep seeing 2 different locations and im confused now.
And totally unrelated. why wont my avatar show? grrrr
