but its been stated before by the master (Cough madcurl) lol that not all fieros are the same, as not all frames are perfect, and that could throw your whole perspective out of proportion. Read some of the other threads on these types of things. Ideas are great, but results are even better.
was just thinking about this, what would be so different on different fiero's that it wouldnt work? and if its something with the frame then they will have to modify something and make it work, they are going to be adjustable...
settings for how far the door opens outward, and settings for how far it opens vertical. just getting info so i get it right the first time. thanx

I am interested in buying a set, but as you have seen... People have been screwed in the past. Can you disclose more information about yourself, who's doing the work (forget if it is you or an outsource), and any character references from people you have done business with in the past, and/or references of work they have done before this project? Your/there location, etc?
I am eager to get a quality kit, but I'm on the fence if I should wait for a finished product pictures with an "in stock" or available status first.
The first available bolt on will get my business, but I'd like to help if you don't have enough interested pre-orders. That's my dilemma.

ok i have another question? how many people would like weld on? and how many bolt on? it might be impossible to make a direct bolt on without modification, let me know what your thaughts are.. thanx!
change of design... it wont look like that, been told by someone it wouldnt work right/might not be strong enough
it will mount in stock mounting location on the car, and the doors might be stock, might have to weld/bolt something inside to re-enforce it. dont want anything to break
btw, could someone take a pic of stock hinges on a fiero? like with the door open looking in, thanx (it will help me get the design before i get the car)

Would be up for bolt on's, but Ive seen about a dozen of these threads fall flat in the last year, so lets see one work for once
not giving up, theres ways to do it, just gotta find it might end up not making as much as i thaught, but i'll still do it, hope you guys enjoy them when i get done, this is going to be a real PITA for awhile.. lol
ok i need a pic of the stock hinges looking inside the fender with the door open, anyone have a pic? i'm going to get a prototype made this week hopefully..

workin on it..... found out bolt on is actually stronger, so they will be bolt on's, just need a pic to see what i have to work with on a fiero, so i can start on the prototype before i get the car.
FWIW, I'm in Russell, Ks, and I ran into a couple in Hays about a month and a half ago that were there from Sharon Springs and they have something like 11 Fieros on their place. I don't have their names and they didn't give me a card, but I gave them mine. I might be able to find them if you need parts or something to mock up or I have several parts cars.

well if i dont sell my car right away i'll let ya know if i need one, should be getting the fiero in a week or so, thanx!
after doing some research, there is no way to do a direct-bolt on, you have to do some drilling and maybe some cutting, it will be one hinge mounted in stock location(have to drill on the door because its welded from the factory on most cars) with plates inside the door and inside the frame where the hinges bolt on stock if possible. so basicly it will still be a bolt on, just not a direct-bolt on after i get a car to start on i'll probly have a couple changes but looks like i'm about done with that part of it. i think i will have a prototype of the hinge by the end of this week, working on getting a car to do it on......
P.S. i hope this doesnt change anyone's minds about this

If for any reason one wanted to revert to the original hinges at a later date, would this be possible or will any of the required modifications permanently alter the original hinge mounting points?

may have to do some welding if you wanted it back to stock, the stock hinges are welded to the door. but i'll either be using the stock mounting points or make new ones, you will have to do is some drilling and cut the stock hinges off the door to install them.
