Did a ton of work on the car today, mostly fixing basic problems with the car. First thing I did to the car was replace the fuel pump and filter. Wasn't to hard to do, I had just replaced it 6 months ago so the bolts came right off. Plus I was on E so there was no weight to the tank. After that I fixed all my lighting issues. Had a bad wire from the head light switch to the fuse box, and a ton of bulbs out. Replaced most of the bulbs and it still wasn't working right. Ended up being a lot of bad socket I so I just swapped out the wiring harness and fixed some corroded sockets. Also got my front bumper on today, and took it for a cruise Heres the pics! Front bumper on the car:
Took the tail lights to fix the lighting issues and back bumer off (have to fix some things on the bumper, going back on tomorrow)
Car at night (still need to put in the middle lights)
Had another Fiero owner stop by to check out an engine block I have because his is in pretty bad shape right now. Because he didn't have a Fiero to drive, he had to drive his work vehicle to my house...a Hummer limo
Thing was Bad A$$ Also got my buddies Camaro finally running as well, been sitting for 3 years:
Then I finally had some time to work on my engine bay and clean it up, cleaned up the frame:

UPDATE: Well I drove 2 hours today to pick up my bags, and you would know they made a mistake and didn't order them Ended up buying them off suicidedoors.com and got a better deal. Now I just have to wait a couple days for shipping. Trying to get the air ride up and running by the end of this week! Tomorrow i'll be replacing my axles, harmonic balancer, and setting the timing.
I relized I'm not going to have time for the paint job I want due to time. Therefore i'm just going to do a raddle can paint job on the parts that need it the most. Hopfully i'll have a paint job before Fierorama. I went a head and fixed a nice size crack and a coupld chips in the top clip today and repainted it. Heres some pics: Filled in crack with fiberglass then body putty:
My neighbors love me lol:
Painted:
Where the crack use to be:
Clean coat applied, now just to clean off all the dust from sanding:
I agree its looking good. I do want to know how it rides on those bags. Suspension lubrication is real important with my 17" rims and it still a little hard on bumps.
Yours is currently crippled & mine is half naked.
I need to have my frame checked and fix/replace some broken pieces. What a PIA to take the rocker panels off! Especially under the door.
Well, not one thing has went well today. Went to replace my axle with one I had trade for from another member to find it is to long and the treads at the end are in bad shape. So I ended up taking it off my other Fiero while the engine is out of it getting a throw-out bearing. Then I pulled off a harmonic balancer from a extra 2.8 I have laying around to use on my car to find out the rubber peice on that is worn out as well. Fine, so I tried the other 2.8 I have laying around...dug that out from under my pile of parts lol to find its broke into well, back out to the garage...
I got all the parts I need to finish up the air ride. I'm in the middle of mounting the tank and compressure right now. My front suspenion is at my buddies house right now getting the bags welded in. I orded the GT turbo quarter window scoops, clear park/turn lights, and the stock 5" sub from the Fiero Store. Also got the Rodney Dickman's rear decklid shock kit in the mail today to replace my custom PVC pipe lol. Great quailty, worth every penny:
Front suspenion out of the car:
And a tester pic:
no suspenion on the front, so I lowerd it down and stuck the tires in there. Theres still a good 3 inches from the tires to the fender lining. Lot more pics on the way!
I went to check out a Fiero today to buy for a engine swap. All I have to say is, WOW! Test drove a 85SE with a 3800 with a ton of mods (guy gave me a 2 page sheet on what has been done to the car). Said it had 300HP/ 300Lb/ft and ran in the 11's. I belive it after driving the car
Got my parts in from the Fiero Store! -stock sub -clear turn/park lights -Fiero intake scoop -clips for molding -quarter windoe scoops
The window that fits into the drivers side scoop is not even close to fitting so I have to see if they will send me a another one. The Passenger side one fits Great! I'll do a update tonight with more pics.
Before you put a CD player in. get rid of that metal piece at the back & riveted to the plastic on the bottom. In my car, it is pushing the back of the cd player. Because it was mounted as far forward as possible at Best buy, it also means a CD will hit my shifter in park! I would have broken it off but, the plastic was too flexible.
Brian
Large/long screw driver and hammer.. You can pop the plastic right at the rivets, and pull them out. Leaves a crack in the plastic, but its still intact to easy to fix.. ( thou no one will ever see back there in the first place i never did fix the crack in either of mine).

I was just thinking that looking at the pictures.. I think my neighbors down here in whiteland would lynch me if i did that much work outside.. im waiting for a complaint on my blue GT since its not moved in over 2 months.. ( just been to damned hot to even consider putting the new engine in , plus my help isnt always around, dont want the thing to go thru my back window or something )

I really like your front spoiler - from the beginning of your thread I can't figure out where it originally came from SO I CAN GET ONE TOO!
Any idea who makes 'em?
Thanks -
If you've got a spare SE/GT aero frontend layin' round you already have one. Take a close look at it and you'll see it's a front cut and flipped upside down. Quite a few folks have done this mod, looks good, just to many speed bumbs and railroad tracks around here.

UPDATE 9-11-06 Time for some scoops Only have one on the car right now. It started raining so I didn't get a chance to get the other side on yet. I'll get some better pics when it stop raining.
My horn has never worked on my car so I decited it was time for a new one lol:
Connected it up to the air ride system, heres a video of it lol: Click here to see Video And some pics from Fierorama:
on the way home...

My engine started backfireing and I couldn't set the timing because the mark on the harmonic balancer kept moving on me. Turns out a small chip of metal was keeping the exhaust valve on the head open. Found some other issues (mostly fuel injectors) with the engine while removing parts to get to the head that would cost alot to fix, so I decited it was time for a ENGINE SWAP so I dropped the 2.8 beast out:
10-16-06 Picked up a 3800SC a couple days ago. Its out of a 97 Grand Prix GTP. Got one hell of a deal on it and the guy through in the PCM, Starter, and full uncut wiring harness. Heres some pics of the engine:
I've been doing alot of reseach on the wiring. Found these three sites that helped me out alot when trying to figure out the wiring: Fiero C203 & C500 Connectors- http://www.fieroaddiction.com/c203c500.html 3800SC PCM pinouts- http://home.neo.rr.com/fieros/3800/3800pcm.htm and this site goes more into depth of what the wire is fromt he above site- http://home.att.net/~subzero350/index.htm From looking at all these wiring diagrams this is what I came up with for the C1 Blue Connector. I'm not using the A/C, Cruise, or Auto Tranny. Bolting it up to the 5 speed. Let me know what you think or any mistakes. I also have the C2 Clear connector done but havn't put it onto the computer yet.
10-22-06 I got alot of work done on the engine in the last couple days. Trying my best to hide the wiring for a cleaner look. Got most of the wiring done as well. Heres how the engine looks now

Is that the one that was on Ebay in Columbus, Ohio?
I know which one your talking about, I placed a couple bids on it. But ended up finding a ad in the paper for a guy with 3800SC parts so I called him up. He had a complete engine still in a 97GTP that had been hit from the side. So I picked it up from him, he lives in Fort Wayne. He had a real nice garage with about 6 Grand Prix's he was parting out lol.

I wouldnt asume that ryans pinout list there will work directly for you, as the 97 is 2 generations older in the wiring department than the scematic that is posted there.
I didnt go through and look whats different but I asume that there are some things out of line.
Go look at my swap thread, me and adam (3.4turbotdc) posted a GREAT wiring thread based on 98's there

I am the one that made the pinout list that I posted...I went through all the wiring over and over, and remade the diagram a couple times to get it how I wanted it, and easier to read. It helped a ton while wiring up the engine. Spent many hours doing my reasearch to get this as close as possible. When I went to wire it up I did notice a couple of things that were off, but it was easy to figure it out when you had the wires in front of you. 98 wiring diagrams won't help me to much considering its a different year and some things were changed.

11-12-06 WIRING IS DONE!!! I decited to place the PCM in the trunk. Still have to put some wire loom on, and replace the vac lines. Order new valve cover, water pump, and oil pan gaskets from zzperformance.com. Only wiring I still need to do is for the fuel pump. Heres some pics:

It was cool seeing your car at Auburn. I'm glad to see that you will be running a 3800SC and it looks like you are making fantastic progress.
Keep up the good work! (and keep the pictures coming.........)
Thanks for the comment!
Picked up a 3.4DOHC Fiero today so I can use the 5 speed getrag out of it. The tranny is from a 88 Beretta. My 3rd gear would grind while going into gear. It's not the best swap, and the engine is not in the best shape. Hopefully I'll get my mounts in and I can get the engine and trans on the cradle. Heres some pics of the DOHC. Coming home, and another one leaving:

11-18-06 Havn't got much done on the swap because i've been dropping the 3.4 engine and getting the tranny off. Replaced the oil pan today and replaced the gasket because it had been jacked up on. Also got the engine on a stand. and the pics...

I have no clue lol, the wiring was a joke and wasn't going to spend time on trying to get it to run. Think it might be froze up because the flywheel did not spin when I force the flywheel bolts off. Did find a brand new clutch in it It's a Borg & Beck, but can't find any info online on kind. Looks like a stage 2 or 3, but not sure.

it looks pretty rough. I really want to do a TDC swap someday. Somthing about 4 cams is attractive.
Why did you put the 3800 on a stand? It looks like its ready to mount on a cradle.
Yea it's pretty rough, the alternator is froze up too I noticed lol. Reason why I put it on a stand was to swap out the oil pan, and have to remount the alternator still. Going to mount it where the A/C use to go. Lot easier doing it in the air then on the ground. Won't get any work done on the engine today becuase I had a fuel injector wire rip out on my other 87GT. Have to replace the fuel injector part of the wiring harness.
