Depends if the roadster is going to have a removable hardtop. The removable hardtop depends if the owner wishes to drive the car any distance from his house. The distance from his house depends on if it rains. Rain depends on the weather, and thats just a whole new issue.

Excellent.....

Is that only 9*? It looks like alot more, but maybe it's the angle the pic was taken.

Did you do any frame re-enforcement?

Absolutely right. The panels are just laying on for the pic as far as reinforcements I did some nice thick angle iron on the bottom of the car along the pich weld and som rectangle stock along the pinch weld that goes up the rear whell well. the car is stiff as h**l, while the interior was out I had my dad, grandpa, wife and I all climb in it and the doors still opened no problem.

Now wheres the choptop council? am I in with my 2nd chop or no?

Choptop ? Sorry Tyler, but I think you have gone one step further and created a whole new category entirely.

Choptop roadsters !

That is a good thing BTW. This could be the answer for those extra tall guys who want choptops ?

** PS, it is amazing how the small detail of changing the angle of the windshield makes a whopping difference in the look. Looks so much more aggresive and exotic **

I'd say you're closer to a speedster than a choptop. However speedsters generally cut the windshield, not lay it back as you have (which looks better), along with cutting the side windows at an angle (the front starts at the windshield, then is cut at an angle to meet the top of rear quarter). But put a removable chopped hardtop on it and I’d call closer to a choptop. Regardless I think you’re the first person who’s done this modification and it looks great so far. It will be interesting to see how you handle the quarter window area, that’s the one place most folks who turn their vehicles into convertible screw up looks wise. Go with the Pontiac gold/bronze concept car double hump design of the 80s and it will look a lot better.

Looking good. I have been thinking of that since I took a pic of my choptop and it came out looking like a roadster.
Had the camera in a low angle and a little too much light in the background. And it looked like a roadster with 13degree lower angle on the windscreen.

Are you out of your FLIPPIN' MIND!?!?!?! it looks amazing and flows with the lines of the car MUCH better than the stock windshield ever did.

I think a choptop needs a top to be called a choptop. I think you have made a raked windshield roadster. Great job so far…..
I drive a choptop, I’m 6’2” and if I take out my sunroof glass my head sticks out over the top of the windshield. If my car were a roadster my eye’s would probably be under the top of the glass but my forehead, hair would be over the top...
