i definately give you massive credit whadeduck. you and surge are awsome.
now for the other part of this post... For some reason right after i donated my last $20 to my name to Dave i started on a path to good luck... which is not normal for me. I know i have good kharma because i try to help everybody i can but wow... the day after i sent out that last $20 i got a call from a close friend of mine giving me her home... yeah that's what i said dam* what did i do that was so nice... i think i figured it out... I think, not certain that it's been from helping Dave out with his goal. Now i know most people who are reading this are going "is he for real?" yes i am. Now i know if any one of us were in his shoes trying to get together the one material possession that puts a smile on your face you would want people helping you out... well here's your chance to help somebody, and maybe even get a little help yourself. I'll step down off the soap box now but thank you for reading this. feel free to read my post on what has happened to me the days after my last donation. https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum6/HTML/047199.html

Thanks a ton, still haven't located the ones we pulled off. The way things usually work, when the ones you sent show up I'll probably trip over the ones we've been looking for! We actually bagged up bolts as we took them off and put a description in the bag, somehow we must have neglected to do so for these. Crossing my fingers that we can get the cradle back in this weekend, not gonna rush it but would be nice.

The bolts are probably with all those socks I've been losing.
I've located a lot of my socks that went missing, my girlfriend walked in tonight with about 4 pair of my socks she had been wearing home in the mornings! Gets me to thinking, she has complained that I don't pay enough attention to her and her MX6, maybe she took my bolts out of jealousy! She always complains that I spend to much time with my car.

SOCKS! we don't need no stinkin' socks! Just kidding, I think it's common knowledge amongst most educated socks that there is an escape route built into every washer and dryer!
But on to more serious business.........
The rebuilder did away with the adapter for the oil pressure sending unit tube that goes into the block near the oil filter. It's my fault for not removing it but for now I will blame them! LOL What size is that little brass adapter fitting thingy jig? I'm reading build threads trying to find this little tidbit of info but if anyone knows it would be appreciated if they would share the info with me. What size is that little brass adapter fitting thingy jig?
WOW does that look AMAZING!! god i wish my engine looked NEAR that!! or at least ran ok BEFORE you put the cradle in!! i need a picture of the wiring harness, on the back of the engine (opposite of trunk side) where the power from the battery goes to the harness, there are 2 grounds near there too... like your first pic, only ALOT closer, i need to see where the bat connects specifically.. im not sure mine is right... but i think it is... and like the starter + such.. no idea bout wires there..
PLEASE!
edit, o yea i was out in the garage for like an hour today, just a bunch of little stuff.... and my hands were numb in like 20mins. i hate you and your perfect weather! 4 inches of snow here... then like 3 random things broke from my return trip from the garage, to my back door. (metal holders for back door window pane atleast the glass didnt break!, my flashlight, etc) god i hate winter.

Weather should be decent here for the weekend, around 50 degrees by 1:30pm Saturday. Surge is complaining about the cold LOL!
I'll try to get those pics for you as we put it back in the car, we took the whole wiring harness out with the engine/trans/cradle. Funds are super low right now (kind of painted myself into a corner LOL!) so sending one out at this point would be difficult.
BTW the engine looks tight right now but I'm not sure all that pretty high heat paint is gonna hold up very well once it hits the road!

Decent day today with the exception of the bolt that broke off in the throttle body when we tried to change the TPS (throttle position sensor).
The cradle is back in the car! Still need to hook up the trans coolant lines, the engine coolant lines, fuel lines, install upper plenum/throttlebody, emergency brake cables, main electrical connecter and various electrical lines. Refill trans fluid, anti-freeze/coolant, install battery, and set timing. Basically still a lot of BS to deal with!

Really appreciate the positive comments and wish there was more I could do to show how much I appreciate the help you've given, not just the bucks but the good vibes! Surge is a great guy, I try to give him a hard time every chance I get, fun guy to work with! Can't say enough about him or Richard, I know a lot of you guys would be here every weekend if it was possible, means a lot to me to know there are people out there that still just want to help a guy out.
Hugh has been calling me on a pretty regular basis with words of encouragement, hope to see him when he heads out on his road trip in the next couple of months. I'm really hoping to get down to Daytona to meet some of the folks on the forum, if I can't handle the drive myself and if my gal has to work, I might be riding down with Surge. Really would like to make that event and the RFTH's this summer/fall. I'm still way in the hole on this thing but there are a couple of guys that are going to try to send some additional financial aid, every little bit helps!

Does it look strange with the car back on the ground?
LOL, yep, it actually does! Can't wait to get the e-brake stuff hooked back up and get the wheels/tires back on her!
Gonna try to rope in Scott (psychosurfer) to tune her when we get it all tied back up. Hoping that might be as soon as next weekend but not gonna hold my breath, still trying to be patient and not rush things.
Sounds like you have the big stuff done and now it's just the multitudes of little things. Check and recheck and don't rush. Hopefully everything that was done to it will give you a good dependable ride. Maybe I could get enough time to get one of my cars a little more dependable and ride out there one weekend for a Fiero cruise. Maybe Surge will have his electrical bugs figured out by then too. Wished I could've helped more. Can't have Surge taking ALL the credit. He's a good guy. Good place he "found" too. Nacho Mamas. Kelly told me it's been there for about ten years. lol Good food though.

It was a busy day, ordinarily I would just crash for a couple of days now to recouperate but got to get up tomorrow and go to have the diffibrullator checked. Regularly scheduled maintenance but I'm gonna ask them if it might be the reason I seem to be getting shocked everytime I touch anything lately! I'm having real issues with static electricity lately! I'm wondering how long it will be before I fry my computer LOL.
If I can get myself rested up I might try to take care of some of the little issues with the car before next weekend rolls around.

Everything looked fine at the appointment today, the difribulator (never will get the spelling right on that thing!) recorded two episodes back in December, the 3rd and 29th, but they said it was nothing unusual and not to be concerned. It was just trying to correct an irregular rythym, but was only a very mild adjustment. It's kinda neat, the woman makes sure the leads are okay by manipulating my heart rate and downloads all the data from the past three months. Haven't given it a lot of thought but I guess I have my own ECM now!
On a side note they warned me not to work on the ignition system of any engine/motor while it is running, that kind of sucks, kind of rules out helping with setting or adjusting the timing in my own car! Could also make some trouble shooting rather difficult.
I ran the main harness back into the cab of the car today after I got back but kinda ran out of steam real quick, was going to finish hooking up some of the electrical and the coolant lines. Also tried to break the sensor in the air filter housing loose so I could put a new one in but just kinda gave up on that for now also. Guess I just need to take a few days to rest up before getting out there and messing with it anymore. Really sore and tired, kinda like a very intense workout, muscles kinda burn and not sleepy but just plain wore out. Was hoping to suprise Surge by having some of the little stuff out of the way, guess I shouldn't be trying to deny him all the fun, huh?
Still have to drill out that bolt on the throttle body, thats a bummer, can't beleive that thing snapped off like that. Probably didn't need the new TPS but I was just trying to make sure everything was new to eliminate possible weak points.

Thank you goes out to shawnkfl, help in the form of fundage arrived today via USPS. I know he is in the process of getting his ride together and really appreciate his sacrifice to help me out!
Just when I kinda think everyone who is gonna step up has, someone suprises me! The list is getting pretty long but when the car is running and all the accounting is done I will try to acknowledge everyone who has helped in some way with getting this thing done!
For now, thanks guys, you know who you are.
Now if I can just get Surge to skip some classes and finish this thing up, I wanna go for a drive!

One of Surge's classes canceled today and he cut another to come over and work on the car some while it's so warm outside. Not much in the way of pics to post today but we have made some progress. All the coolant hoses were replaced except the drivers side from the short coolant tube to the long one that runs to the front. The replacement hose we had was about 2 inches to short, the hose that was on the car looks good so we used it instead. The A/C compressor belt is tightened down. A few more electrical connectors have been connected. Trans linkage re-installed. The rear heatshield did not seem to want to fit onto the Fiero Store exhaust manifold studs, they seemed to short, so we wrapped the rear and front exhaust manifolds in header wrap. Figured that they should be okay with the wrap since they are stainless steel and have also been coated with 1200 degree paint. May do the same for the Y-pipe, not sure at this point. replaced a couple of brackets on the long driverside coolant tube that had degraded with some I had laying around in the shed. Tried painting the air filter housing but need to strip it and start over, the paint did not act very nice and krinkled up in one spot! Still a lot of little things to connect, and everything needs to be checked and re-checked, but things are coming together.
Things are coming together and if we can get the TPS bolt removed from the throttle body we should be in a position to re-start the car this weekend. Weather looks like it is going to be really nice for the next several days. Starting to get a little nervous about the upcoming initial startup.
Surge did not leave till after 10pm tonight. Everything is pretty much hooked up with the exception of the accellerator and cruise cntrl cables, the battery itself, the filter housing and snorkel, and the exhaust from the Y-pipe back. We may try to start the car up tomorrow.
There are other details, the rotors/calipers/e-brake have not been re-installed and needless to say the back tires.
Getting really close to complete, just hope the results are what we expect!
I am exhausted and could actually put off the finale till this weekend but I think Surge is wanting to take advantage of the nice weather we're having.

She turns over fine but not getting any spark, sounds like coil or ingnition module.
Any suggestion on narrowing it down?
The pink wire to the coil is showing kinda low voltage, 11.8 but the battery itself is kinda low at this point from sitting for three months idle and then turning the motor over today. Battery checked at 12.6 when we started.
Lookiong into bad grounded coil right now since we painted all the crap and probably interupted the ground for the coil.

If you have someone who can carry you there, doesn't Advance or some of the other places check ignition modules? At least you could rule that out. Also, can you hear the fuel pump kick in?

I can hear the fuel pump kick in when the key is turned to the on position.
No spark at all from the coil, may try to take the ign. module to AZ.
No one has advise on how to narrow it down, figure coil, ign module, pickup coil, are the most likely culprits.
