this is the paint scheme i was thinking about doing to my car next spring... i would like some feedback. so... what do you think? (no negs being given for nasty comments.) and a special thanks to FieroGT42 and Emc209i for the photochop!
I think the green is a little two bright but I like the idea. Going to go Red with black highlights on my car and paint the window scoops black as well.
In my opinion those two colors don't compliment each other vary well. I'm all for outrageous bright colors, but to me they just don't contrast right. Or maybe its just my taste I dunno.

i'm trying to get two colors that stand out and i like the black... my wife said no yellow and black... i'm not a big fan of red... so i'm kinda limited. i guess i could ask for a blue and black... but i kinda like the "stand out like a sore thumb" look. my wife owns a 98 accord that's a forest green.

Gee, I dunno. Sort of looks like a comic book villans car. Maybe the Riddler or the Green Lantern Get yourself a green cape of the same hue along with a black mask. Then find a trusty sidekick to ride around with you and call him Kato...

Ha ha ha! That was funny.
Seriously though, I don't care for the green at all. I do like the painted calipers, wheels, etc.. The car looks great, just not the green.
BTW, my 11 year old son is with me looking at your car too and he agrees the green has got to go too.

WHEW! Thank You! I always dread responding with something that *I* think is funny, only to offend someone. But as the song goes...."I gotta be meeeeee, I gotta be meeeee....."

there's nothing inherently wrong with the color combination - flourescent green and black is a great contrast. its the scheme that's a little wonky. it looks like a pile of compromises. DO NOT under any circumstances paint the center moulding anything other than black. that's the first problem. the second problem, is that the ground effects look weird when they're lighter than the body color.(in my opinion, of course, and as an owner of an '85GT with the red body with silver ground effects, i can say that with some degree of impunity) so what i suggest, is that you paint the ground effects, body, moulding and scoops black. then paint the Wing, Greenhouse including the butresses, and the middle section of the hood in the bright green. not the whole hood, but just the middle section. finish it up with a slanted stripe that runs the length of the body from the lower front of the front air dam, back, back, back, and finishing up to the midline of where the rear clip meets the taillight lens. it would get thinner as it progresses from front to back. that would look very tasteful, with a little GOOD RICE element. some rice is cool, its just unfortunate that too much good rice is wasted on cars that are far too pedestrian for the mods. that's my suggestion. i make it because i'm going with something similar for my own car. good luck!

That is exactly what I was going to suggest, and I couldn't agree more. The green could work as the primary color, but on the accents with a dark subdues primary color like you have there it looks a little offensive to the eye. Shoot, see if you can get somebody to photoshop the car with the color scheme reversed. It might end up looked pretty dang good.

I `am going to be painting mine in the reverse of what you show. Bright lime green where you have the black and black where you have the green. Then I`am going to have two 8" wide black stripes go down the center of the car from front to back with the Fiero Pegassis emblem in the center off the hood.

Take a look at the Lambo Murcielago color of "Lime Green" It's actually a pearl lime green...might be a good choice.....

i like it, for the green you should do a Kandy color... maybe just a kandy green, with a metalic base coat, it will look dark green in the shade and bright in the sun, and it will "pop"
Seriously, tho, the colors remind me of a garbage truck. Needs florescent yellow racing stripes. Too much colorful contrast is too much. Kinda like yellow cars with red trim--CIRCUS COLORS! (or red cars with yellow trim.)
I tried a car with blue with grey trim. Looked like a naval staff car!

yes i did give everybody a chance to say what they really feel about the car... even you Brian Lamberts got a + for an honest opinion about the car... i think the family attacks were just wrong. for those people who wanted to see the opposite of what i have up there ^ here it is. I'm not a big fan of green but i like the idea of a car that stands out. anybody else want to hammer my color idea?

I think it would look better if you made the green brighter! It's a tuner look, but if thats what YOU like.........then do it. I wouldn't have the moldings green too tho. I think it would make it look cheezy. Have you thought about doing a full two tone body paint job? That would def. look better!

Either way looks good to me. I have a black notchback with just the centercaps of the wheel in green Fiero logos and the Fiero 2m4 done in the same green. Do what YOU want and like and you can't go wrong!

I hate the green and black look. Either way it doesn't flatter the car. But that's just my opion as the wife.... I think a blue/black comco would look much beter or a black/purple combo.... then I mght actually want to learn to drive the damn thing. LOL.

Obviously, the 'n' 'e' & 'y' were sticking on my computer yesterday, I meant to say your mom's a "honey"
And on the colors, I like red, with red trim, and red seats. Did I mention I like red? Wish they made red tires.
No, I'm not taking this thread too seriously!

Personally, though I love green, I think that shade is a bit too bright. I do like the picture with the car in green with black trim. My suggestion is to do the lowers in the same color leaving the moulding black. My $.02, but you asked for it.

Green is a tough color to work with, espeically on a Fiero. There has only been one green Fiero that truly jumped out at me, and that is the one owned by Tom Corey in Florida.

BAH! Bright green all the way!! either paint scheme is sweet. my exact fav. color combo.
i also love that other green gt (not the dark one) dark greens are mostly blah to me... like an old, slow feeling.. i like the "excitement" in bright colors

I wouldn't have black w/ green trim on my car, but I don't think it's all that bad. Maybe a little to bright in that pic because I was trying to match the tone in another chop. Still, I hated it at first but now it's starting to grow on me. (Maybe I should see a doctor to have it removed...)
About the wheels, I dont' remember what they were except that I stole them from a racing modified RUF (Porsche). You might check if RUF cast their own wheels or use an aftermarket 3rd party

yikes countach711! those are scary... my brother-in-law thinks a deep orange with the black in my scheme and my wife was thinking about blue instead of the green.

I'm not a green fan, so no, I don't like it. Having said that because I don't like green isn't my real problem with it. Bear with me a moment.
When you paint a car radically different than the "norm" you are automatically making the potential market for that vehicle very, very small if/when you should ever decide to sell it. I know we all like to think that "I'm never going to sell my car........" but keep in mind the old rule "We should ALWAYS remember NEVER to say the words NEVER or ALWAYS". Things change, a better car comes along, we have financial difficulties, who knows what the future will hold?
When you go to a very bright, very unusual paint scheme you can be assured that it iss fewer and fewer people's ideas of what a cool car is, regardless of yours or my tastes. You really don't want to destroy the value of what may very well be the single largest asset you own.
