Guess I should just go crawl back in my little dark green hole then . . . . . . . . Just kidding guys... I've always known that Green is a color that "just isn't for everyone" - but I do get a lot of "I don't usually like green, but it looks great on your car" comments. I've always made it clear that I made the style & color choices that I did to make me happy... and if people like it, great - and if they don't - that's fine by me too. ~ Like Kermit T. Frog says "it isn't easy being green"!

Alright those with little vision, nobody thought I should paint my car orange either and I get thumbs-ups all the time! People love it. I disagree Mr Stricker, I think this is YOUR fun car, you should paint it anyway YOU want AND WITH COMPLETE DISREGARD for selling it in the future. It's YOUR car, why would you paint it in the hopes it'll help it sell later? Where's the fun in that? If you go with a radical color and do something different I personally think that's what's cool!

your green is almost the same as my Mazda Protege's "Grace Green Mica" I wanted to paint my Fiero the same color with black accents like I'm doing my Protege.. My wife killed that idea LOL

my wife is trying to kill my idea of the colors i seem to like for the fiero... honestly i think it makes the trim stand out more and shows the body lines a little better then a solid color car. I usually hate bright green MinnGreenGT, my wifes accord is the same color as your car... eh... not for me. Don't get me wrong, it looks good but it hides alot of the cars lines. i just don't know anymore... if it wasn't for my wife saying "i hate it" i would have never even put up this thread. I'm going to see what it would look like with different colors other then the green but the black base is staying for now. the too out there paint scheme like the fast and the furious look is not what i'm looking for. (no offence to who ever owns that fiero) i'm looking as i said before, for a paint job that will POP! and maybe even be offensive to some.
John, i know what your trying to say and i respect your opinion. If i ever do sell the car it will be to another forum member and i'm pretty sure i won't get what it's worth anyway. I do thank you for looking out for my future well-being. I guess i'm throwing caution to the wind with this car. I've noticed in alot of your posts you make great points that are hard to see untill somebody re-reads what you typed. In this case your very right, never say never or always. My car may leave me one day for what ever reason but.... it will only go to somebody who will respect it as i have.
To everybody else... please be nice to each other on this thread... i really don't want it in the trash can and have to start another one. with that said... thank you to all who have helped with this and i look foward to more constructive insight in the near future about my cars future coloring. Hopefully i can come to something that's a little more pleasing to the eye before i go paint next spring. I know i said offensive to some... not the majority. Please keep the ideas flowing.

Don't think you're alone. Before I finally settled on GM Millennium Yellow for my GT, we must have gone through "discussions" on at least 2 dozen different colors and combinations. I had my heart set on "Orange Crush" orange with metallic gunmetal lower areas. Wife said she hated that and I was looney for wanting to paint it that color. It wasn't until I actually walked into the paint supply store and ordered the paint that I actually knew what color I was going to eventually choose. My advice, (for whatever it's worth), is to do just what you're doing. Take your time. Consider all the possibilities. Plan carefully
......................................................then just walk into the paint store, close your eyes and go with whatever color your finger lands on in the sample book

This is probably not extreme enough, but anyway.... Black/medium gray metallic with a flourescent green Indy stripe. You would have to paint your rims medium gray metallic, though.

Now that I like !!! That is the ticket if you ask me !
Call me crazy but I thought the original scheme looked like a head turner to me... a little bit on the "fast and furious" ricer side but I'd come check it out if I saw it in a parking lot! It just screams "look at me" When I saw this last post with the black, silver and the single green stripe I thought that was alot more subdued but still had plenty of character. Have you tried ditching the silver changing it to black, while keeping the single green stripe? That might give you the simple two-tone scheme you wanted yet stand out while not being over the top like the jokermobile schemes... Any way you go though that color will be pretty unique.

I was about to mention your car, but you beat me too the punch! I've always loved the way that car looks, the only one THAT I HAVE SEEN that looks good green!!! Love the car! finall_mine: I'm an odd ball, I kinda like the first one, it's diffrent... best of luck....

as I mentioned in my other thread, I like it the colors the way you started out with initially because it stands out without being to much. You want it to be diffrerent, that is a big part of owning a fiero. They don't look like every other car you see going around.
As for the wife, not sure what to tell ya there. I got lucky and my gf of the time loved the yellow color of mine and said that was the only reason she even approved of me getting it because it really stood out and looked sharp.

to answer an earlier question of yours gecko... i'm looking into making the vinyl gecko for your car... or a friend of mine might come with me one day next spring to meet up with you. (he does custom airbrushing) after seeing your sig he said "wow that looks hot, and easy!" he's the one who might do my cars hood when i figure out what i want.

I'm an artest and to me, they dont go that well. Now if you used that bright green on a dark matalic green car..... I know lots of folks like to use purple with green, but most artest never will. Oh, and I'd use a dark matalic green with gold sand flakes (the smallest kind). Mybe someone photo op that green on green combo for you?

i normally don't like green but the color scheme kinda stands out. in a crowd of fiero's would would be able to point mine out in a heartbeat. That's what i'm looking for. The dark green color is already on my wifes honda. i really don't like how it hides the lines of the car. My favorite color is black so the base of the car is going to be black and whenever i get time the interior is going to be black and _____ whatever color i chose for the outside. any ideas other then basic red or blue? as an artist i'm pretty sure you can come up with something hot.

who about doing that black in a matalic, my 86GT is black matalic with gold sand flakes. I think you can get sand flakes in any color. So you be able to do your base in black and then mix some bright green sand flakes in with the clear on top of the black. Another thing may help is if you fade say the last three inches of that bright green into a barker green where it meets the black. That will tone it down a little and it wont be so harsh yet still be the colors you want. Try it with spary bombs on something.
