No, this is the point.

I've got a convertible. You think I'm going to trust a loose remote to stay in my car? Or a keychain fob to live in my pocket, continually killing batteries by my keys pressing the buttons?

I've got two garage door openers, each of which was $265, each of which came with two three-button keychain remotes and two three-button visor-mounted remotes... I say again, what's your point?

This looks like a great addition to the car, but I must have missed something. How does it mount into the lighter panel? did you cut the hole so it snaps into place, or did you screw it down somehow?

Thanks,
Troy

Hi, Troy - sorry your question got missed.

For mine, I cut the hole to the proper size and then used two-part epoxy around the inside edges to attach the unit to the panel. Still works like a charm...

I made the hole the correct size and there were clips on the homelink that held it in. To make sure it did not release accidently I did use hot glue to keep the clips from releasing.
