i will try to make it to the cruise if my black betty is running (if you dont mind no paint and fixer up)
i will also be going to some of the indyfiero get togethers this summer to.
You haven't seen mine, totally sunbaked
Don't worry about it, come on over and have some fun! And if you want to just hook up with us in Bloomington instead of driving down to Columbus first, that's fine too.
At this rate, I'll have to drive the GT It now has a red hood, left front fender and front bumper to go with the aqua and black. It does need tires on the back though and an exhaust tip, radio A/C....typical fiero in not show condition.

I hang out in the Colorado Steak House lot, not many people eat there. We mostly hang out and talk about cars then get a nice size groupe together and make a lap, cruise downtown and around the circle then back up. Then some people also setup races, but racing on US31 is plain retarted. Way to many cops. Saturday night there was a highly modded 3800SC fiero up there, quick as hell! Pretty much everyone that hangs out there is on Indycarz.com. Hope to see you guys up there!
I noticed the steak house is gone, its now something else.. does everyone still show up there on the weekends?
Originally posted by whereatt: Yep they meet up at the Burlington Coat Factory parking lot right behind the McDonald's. There were around 40 cars up there last night.
Ah, the old cub foods lot. ( showing my age there a bit .. though i remember when it was still a field too ) . Thats got more room then the other lot had anyway, and closer to autozone .
Ill see if i can make it out next weekend, i sniffed too much carb spray today working on the red GT and feel like garbage, so saying home tonight.

I'm pretty much out there fri and sat after 10. There was well over 100 cars up there tonight around 1am, more and more just kept coming in. I guess more people are parking and hanging out instead of cruising around at $3.35 a gal!

I'm still planning on it. It is only money. If I do anything, it is usually in Indy and I live in Seymour so what does it matter if I end up near home?
Ryan apparently has a running engine, it should be interesting to see if he drives down.

I talked to Ryan (greengoblin) at ORP a couple of weeks ago, he says that he's down, so that should be at least 7 cars confirmed (counting me and goblin) so far. Not a bad size run group really, especially my first time organizing. As always, the more the merrier!

So i dont screw up, what time are we meeting? And i assume its still at the Jay-C?
I am trying to sell a car to drum up money for ball joints. I am working on getting the trans in my GT. If that stuff pans out I would love to make it down. I dont want to tell you for sure yet though.

Yup, still at the JayC, meet at 2, leave by 2:30 to give people (like me) a window to arrive. I think we'll actually have enough FB radios for everyone. Everyone is recomended to bring one if they have it.
s550w said that he has 4 if they're not hiding from him, and I have 2 available. Plus we have cell phones, and I think Verizon has decent coverage at least over most of the run.

I dont have any radio, but i do have a cell phone.
Besides.. if my rear right wheel suddenly folds under my car you can assume im having troubles. ( or if i suddenly burst into flames )
( though i really shouldn't joke about that, i have a messed up cradle, that realy needs replaced.. ive been pushing my luck )

Looks like T-storms are scheduled all weekend, are we still on?
Looks like the red GT is coming, as the blue GT started shreading alternator belts yesterday and its too hot out to deal with it ( or putting the AC compressor back on ). Though id prefer to take the blue one, its a 5 speed and has zero suspension issues

Hmm. Weather.com shows 30% chance. (Probably more like 30% coverage of the entire state with storms.)
I can deal with a pop-up shower, or short spurts, those don't bother me (Thank goodness for new tires), but if it's supposed to rain all day then that wouldn't be very fun for people.
My Fiance informed me that the rain date doesn't work for her though (and she really wants to go).
2 in the afternoon is usually a pretty temperature stable time of day, my guess is that it will be more likely to rain later in the evening (or in the morning). I'll keep an eye on it, and if it looks more like thunderstorms all over, I'll let everybody know via PM and on the forum by tomorrow. The radar shows a rain system currently in the middle of Illinois, who knows what it may do by Saturday.

Sorry, I didn't reply sooner, I was one from Hooters last year that Brian mentioned that hasn't replied yet. Mine was the '88GT mutt, it hasn't changed much except for I put the original wheels back on, but still no new tires. My budget changed priorities when my daughter turned 16 and I had to buy her some wheels ('97 Grand Am). Anyway I was hoping it would work out for me to join this cruise, but I have to work that morning and I have 2 gigs that evening. My 1st one starts 3pm and I might be able to break away after sound check to get some camera shots or maybe a video at the 446/50 junction. This is just about 10 min. down the road from me, this sucks I can't make it. Oh well maybe next time. Send me a pm with a cell phone # and an estimate of a time you might be close and I'll see if I can get there, if anything, just to see the line of Fieros, which are pretty scattered down here!

We'll probably hit the 446/50 intersection between 3:30 and 4. Don't worry if you can't make this one, I plan on planning more of them as time permits
There are a number of nice roads to drive on around here, I haven't even touched 135 yet, or for a more dedicated crowd that don't mind a longer cruise, US231 is nice. A good way to kill an afternoon (Like leave right after an early lunch and be back for dinner) would be to pick up US231 at US50 (Bloomfield), and take 231 north to 157, back to 231 (157 kind of cuts a corner, but is curvy by itself) and then up to Spencer (W. of Bloomington on 46).
I've driven 231 from 50 all the way to US 40, and on another occasion from US 40 to West Lafayette on 231. Its pretty scenic and relaxed driving, not much traffic, and well marked.
A tour of 135 and 58 would also make for a nice (and shorter) afternoon run. Those two roads are quite twisty. As you can see, I have lots of ideas.

Define scattered....I saw a mint looking silver fastback at Walmart a few nights ago. There is a red one downtown most of the time, a white one around the corner unless it moved, another black one pulled into Walmart a couple weeks ago (a co-worker saw it last year), an indy was in town but it might have been sold. Also, about a year and a half ago, a guy stopped by in a truck. It sounded like he had an orange paint job but, I have never seen it around. The "woodwork" hides alot around here.
Humm if I would have got the 5speed SE I am looking at buying in time to come I would have. I don't think my GT will make it on that long of a drive (got a vac leak or something car stumbles on acceleration sometimes). But ill try next year I only live across the river in Louisville so its not that far of a drive to there.

Weather forecast hasn't changed, just gotten more specific. Crazy midwest. It could rain, it could be sunny, and then again we could all get taken away to Oz by a tornado! Possibly in the same day!
On the radar there is a big bunch of stuff currently in Missouri heading our direction, but there was something on Radar in Illinois yesterday and it just petered out. So for now I'm still planning on going for it. My guess is the worst we will do is drive in and out of rain, hopefully more out than in. Then again, it could change by then. I'll just keep watching the weather!

I don't get much farther than Freeman field in Seymour (work), but your right, the warm weather is bringing more out. I've only seen 3 or 4 on the road in my locale (Bedford) (mine included) and I know of several sitting. But I did see a mint silver '87 fastback w/ aftermarket wheels the other day here that I have not seen before. I chased him down and caught him at Big "O" and found out he's had it for years and possibly related to me by from a few generations back. I will steer him here if not already here on the forum. Yeah, I won't be able to make this cruise, not enough time to slide out there, we need more weekend hours. Keep me informed and I will keep checking here for future drives.
Thanks!!!

Count me in, I should have my car running by then.
Cruisin around 465 works for me, I have no problem with that.
Damn it Ryan!!!Your always askin me to come down for a cruise, but I'm a little iffy about comin down for this one depending on how long it is,I found a small crack in my radiator...I don't think my new radiator will be in by saturday... ....Oh and about that norhern Indiana cruise,I hope maybe sometime Chris might plan one here around Ft.Wayne bein since he lives here, but I don't think it would be anytime soon, maybe I'll mention it to him at the show up in Auburn...

This run is about 3 hours or so, but driving that, on top of driving down from Ft. Wayne (and back!) with a cracked radiator is asking for trouble.
A 465 run has the potential for fun, although I'll probably be one of the tamer drivers.
The local weather (local radio station) is much more optimistic for tomorrow than Weather.com I trust the local people more than I do a national/international weather service, ya know?
Anyway, if I haven't posted it before: my cell is 812-528-1431
Oh yeah I'm definatly not gonna go to this one,but hopefully sometime soon after I get her fixed we'll all hook up somewhere for a good cruise...But hey I could come in my GTA,she runs perfect, but that wouldn't be no fun,it wouldn't be fiero like,I'd be the outcast...

I really don't think i'll be going now. Motor locked up on me once again last night, i'm to the point where i'm just goin to part the car out. I can't keep dumping all this money and time into a car that wont fu@kin run. Sorry guys
AC compressor froze on me 1/2 to columbus. Just my luck.
Bummer, we hung around an extra bit waiting on ya, we wondered what happened.
All in all we had a beautiful day. About 3 minutes worth of sprinkles towards the end, but that gave us cooler temps for the rest of it, so it's all good
I'll get some pictures up probably tomorrow, my Fiance took around 20
Ryan: You're just not having any luck man! Sounds like you just need to put it in the garage for a couple of months before you sell it and regret it. Just keep an eye out for a stock 3.8 S/C and leave it stock and you really should be alright barring another oil pump disaster.
Final count was 5 cars, and right at 100 miles according to my trip odometer, and a beautiful day!
