The touchscreen was cool.. No doubt about that. Just too troublesome. I liked my later model Reatta without it.

I also had an X1/9 back in 1981. Cool looking car. Terrible electrical and cooling problems. That is one reason I liked the Fiero when it was introduced. It reminded me of the Fiat.

By the way I don't see all that much about the Reatta that looks like the a Fiero. Yes it's a two small sports car but I just don't see any real shared lines. OK maybe just alittle of the 90 coupe but just a little.

And not to steal the thread but - if any Reatta owners care I have access to tons of plant photos and documents at the museum I work at. I would be more then willing to do some research for you. Just email me.

Thanks for the post!

Quester is the name I could not recall.

I believe the Buick is still around but the P2 is not.

The Reatta never reminded me of a Fiero either. It just made me think of a short wheelbase Toranodo or Riviarea.

The convertible was the best looking one and it came too late.

Hi all...good conversation on here! Interesting reading.......glad to see this thread still alive.

Anyways...I had a few random things to say about Reatta's if I could: One thing that wasnt mentioned in this thread yet is that the Reatta was intended to be a "Halo" car and therefore Buick never expected it to be a big money maker. It was intended to show the automotive world that Buick could still build A) exciting cars, not just family wagons or "older men's cars", B) the most technically advanced cars (and the Reatta was just that) and C) "outside the box." (and the Reatta was outside the Buick "box")
In other words, the Reatta was a corporate "showpiece" displaying what Buick could do. Kind of like flexing their corporate muscle.

In regard to the touchscreens...the good news is there are a few guys here and there (especially Ebay) that do sell replacement crt's and crt controllers. (the controllers being the most trouble prone from what I understand)

For anyone interested in buying a Reatta, I would suggest restricting your search to just the 91 model. (last year)
This is because they finally got rid of the diabolical Teves System on the last year. Is the Teves system really that
problematic? Yes....you'll find that out when you visit the Reatta.net board.

Lastly, Dale...just for fun could you post a pic or two of my Reatta? (you should have several pics to choose from)
Heck, it might even keep the thread going....
