actually we mustve hit a bad spot, cause all the people sucked around where we broke down... but we made it home fine no other problems what so ever
Glad to hear you guys made it home safely! Surge and I had an interesting stop in Brunswick Georgia to do a minor brakeline repair, put us three hours behind schedule but made it home fine, just a little later than we had planned. I had some running around to do Monday and Tuesday so I 'm still wiped out from the weekend, finally getting a chance to lay around today and recoupe. It was worth it though, wish I could have been more sociable but was having a hard time getting my body to do what my mind wanted to! LOL Next year I'm getting one of those little carts to ride around on if I don't have a new heart installed by then. There was just so much to see at the speedway.
Edited to add a pic to keep things rolling.

^ Ask these guys about "the lube". They will decline to comment. That's all I'm gonna say about that.

Hey that was our secret. We had more fun fixing Jimmy's car joking around and at the track that night then the whole weekend. Glad you made it home Jimmy. But I had to listen to Sarah about you posting that you beat her in the drag cars . Thanks LOL.

Glad you made it home okay Jimmy. And you're very welcome. I try to make deposits in the "helping others out" account whenever I can. Maybe one day I'll need to make a large withdrawal. One never knows when...
BTW - It's official! I have more pictures of my trailer than I do of my wife's car at D7.... Whoooda thought?

It's not that bad. After all, I live there. My wholesome goodness just permeates the entire state.
Well we lived in SC for 9 years while in the military, and all I'll say is there were plenty of good people, and plenty of not so good people .... just like every place else we've lived

I gotta say, thanks to Frank & all the Florida Fiero club members who made D7 the best Daytona show I've ever attended.
I know attendance was down a little but I'm sure travel costs, & not the no judging format, had a lot to do with that.
It was great seeing Clem, Tom Corey, Frank, Ron & several others actually enjoying the show, instead of worrying about judging, scoring, classes etc.
This year I got to visit with some of my best friends (including those mentioned above) more than I was ever able to visit with them when they were busy judging. It was truely a pleasure visiting with these guys without them having to run off to do some judging &/or scoring.
So a shout out to my buddies in FL, it was great visiting with you & I'll try to make it again next year.
BTW, Mr. Corey, I'm getting that Steak Dinner next year.

How not to get your Fiero home from the D7 trip....
Head home.. Have a problem that takes five min to fix after it gets home... Call many towing companies for a flatbed, tell them 142 miles, have all say no... Call AAA... Have them call many more untill the find one... Drive... Yes i said drive.. your Fiero onto flat bed.. Head home again... Go 13 miles... Blow engine on flat bed... Wait untill Big truck comes to get little truck and your Fiero... Wait for another flatbed... Ask driver of second flatbed if he thought to put the support down so you wont smash the nose when moving from truck to truck... Watch driver panic as the owner of the towing company watches him put the support bar down... Drive Your Running Fiero onto another flatbed.. Head for home... again... Get to the first toll booth and find the driver has forgotten his Ipass and has no change for the unmaned toll... Run back to your Fiero... Grab your Ipass... Wave it like a fool until the booth reads it... Wave in another way to the 20 or so drivers behind you that are group testing their horns.. Get back in truck... Head home again... Get home 12 hours from the first problem... Start to unload your Fiero... Have crazy neighbor run out thinking the tow driver is there to repo his car.. Put your Fiero in the garage in case the neighbor starts shooting... Close garage door...
These words of wisdom are from a guy that had a great time at D7... Thanks to Archie and DL10 for the help with the car... And thanks to all the people that made D7 a great time for all... Chuck
V-8 Archie choptop owners (L to R) Troyboy, exoticse, and jscott1 doing the curly pose !
Sure was hard trying to pretend we were cold during this warm beautiful weather.
Ok I know the story behind the curly pose, but them being at daytona in shorts and Tshirts makes it look more like the curly pose is about empty pockets... One day I'll being doing the curly pose... for the right reason.... ie in front of archies making a pickup
I told Frank Martin (along with Archie) that in all my years in going to Daytona, that I had more fun B S ing with everyone and not judging let alone cleaning my car. In fact I did not clean the car yet after last weeks show. As always I usually end up with Archie in the wee hours just talking about anything that comes up and not just Fieros. I look forward to next year and hopefully NO judging.

Glad to here it only took you 12 hours to go 140 miles on the flatbed. What did you end up paying for the overages on the tow? So were you right……..was it a stuck injector?

Chuck is on his way home from my place right now.
One of the injector grounds was at fault, I'm sure he'll explain more when he sees this thread. Only took a couple of minutes to find & fix.
It's a good thing he didn't make it to FL though. Someone would have been buying him dinner, he made 410hp with 704 T on the Dyno this morning.

I admit, when I first saw this, I laughed. But there was a paper on the passenger side window with some information (too small for my camera), and it made me think again. 45 mpg, 85 mph, and the space behind the seats was almost as big as a Fiero trunk. So ugly, it's cute! Later, Yellowstone showed a picture of one and I believe he was saying they aren't bad. They are made by Mercedes in France.
Smarts are actually quite fun. I test drove one once. They drive like a Go-Kart. It's the ultimate City car. Really easy to drive and park. The Smart Roadster I heard is even more fun to drive. Dodge had a concept car based on it, which I hoped would be a Fiero replacement, but that's not going to happen now. Dodge is going to make the Demon instead. (Looks like something between a Miata and a Solstice)
