John, you're pics are so small! bleh... guess it is harder to see the flaws that way. Thanks for posting them.

Steve (Happy Birthday!) Reid & CenTexIndy tied for first in our 'Guest Club' class. Both of course were well deserved... I gotta tell you... I love Indy Fiero's, and Tim's looks great. I think a lot of people were impressed at Steve's motor & engine bay. A work of art there.

JohnF was runner-up, and a door prize winner. Daniel was second place runner-up. Congrats guys, thank you for coming. The weather was exceptional for July, and the show field was good too. I got a bit tired of Mustangs though... but hey, it WAS their show!

As for the track the night before...

Man, it was like 'gang' day at the track. My car got tagged. MstangsBware got his car stripped when his back was turned... and I witnessed two driveby's... and they were from the cars going down the 1/8! (ok... j/k... but it would not have been a far leap either.)

I remember last few times I was at Kennedale, it was like the bastion of redneck America... but Friday... it was uber ghetto. Apparently, there were some grudge matches to be run between a few different hoods... and there was a lot of money being flashed and changing hands. There was at least one large fight, and I thought (honestly) there was going to be some gunplay after one run. Lots of signing going on... and I ain't talking autographs either.

Since it was $15 to run or spectate I figured... what the heck..., and went ahead and ran a few times (GXP). Beat PC's 3.4DOHC Fiero with Jed at the wheel (he was gaining by the end of the track... gotta love high RPM's), and got waxed by a mod'd green87's L67 Fiero 2x. Best 1/8 for me was a 9.482 with a 2.1xx 60'. I just don't know how to launch a FWD That came with TCS on. It was warm and humid... 3/4 tank of gas. I did not bother to prep the car at all... didn't really want to leave anything unattended so to speak... Even my car. Not great times... just basically just doin' it to do it.

Mstangs was able to cut a 1.8xx 60' on drag radials, but only got one pass in. His Fiero was giving him fits because of heat. (A LOT of disorganization going on bcz of the aforementioned circumstances) The Daniel got a 8.74 1/8 mile, and it was his first time to the track.

guys, guys!... read what I typed! I said '(j/k)' about the tagging, stripping, & driveby. j/k = just kidding. But it would not have been a far reach either.

also:

This was cool... the person in this photo is Chuck Acker, NTFC member Kevin Acker's brother... and that is the family '57 T-bird, that their parents bought new from the Ford dealership. Chuck took 1st in the 50's class, and was a heckofa nice guy.

Nice pics Tim!

I got all the parts replaced from the trip to the track and all is good now. I missed the car show doing this so maybe next time I can make it. I think I found the issue I was having at the track. Had to do with me moving the battery up front and not having a soild postive connection. Going to fix that issue and see how it goes. Looks like they moved the Ennis night to this Friday since it was rained out. Will be going to this if everything is going good with the car. I can say that the MT drag radials I ran hooked with no problems. I took off expecting to get some tire spin and instead the car just went. Hope I get everything worked out for this Friday so I can run the car.

When was the last time your car saw a track?

Sorry! I forgot... you have changed your Fiero interest to more worthwhile endevours... like losing to Ken & Heidi at car shows...
